It sure did. I just realized I have my little setup spreadsheet on my computer here at work, and I made note of an A-Spec top speed of 231 MPH on Sarthe II.

Of course, that's with Stage 4 power.

Woa Nice :dopey:

I am gonna try your setup when I get home. What is yoru DF at on la sarthe?

...What is your DF at on la sarthe?...

Max front and rear. I haven't checked it again, but I'm pretty sure the 231 is correct. That's on Sarthe II, by the way, the one with no chicanes.

i will try that set up also.iam doin the gt allstars at the moment.iam 3rd in the oreca.
got my oreca running very well on most tracks.on the big running at 234mph.when i get to the big bends [only in b spec this is] my drivers speed drops.often losing me the race.is it the way my car is set or is it the driver.?????
does any one know.

Here's a BIG secret for tuning Vipers and virtually every other car in GT. I got it form a friend of mine who is a Nascar Mechanic. Regardless of any other setting in your vehichle, set the final gear in your tranny to 383.0 exactly. It is the perfect rear end as the worm screw driving it has an extra bit of turn that allows it to wear evenly (or something like that in rumbo jumbo) Every single car in my garage has a 383 rear end and I'm here to tell you I will give up more than 100hp to any car in the game and lap him in less than 10 laps. Your top speed may not rise by a ton but your transition from gear to gear is flawless.

Now that you know, I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you all. :scared:

Hey guys I recently bought a Viper SRT-10 and have started to tune it for some races but the darn thing just seems to be too much for me to control. I am having some problems with alot of familiar tracks like Laguna Seca. Wondering if someone could post a typical viper setup for circuit races or could maybe lead me in the right direction if this info has already been posted.

Thank you

Andrew

Hey guys, i've been reading a little bit here and it seems this car is, well, just slow for a race car IMO. I just bought it because i'm a big Viper freak (see name) and i've been messing around with the settings a lot. You guys didn't seem to be able to break 234mph as far as I read, but I just beat that speed. I've accomplished a speed of 241.52mph. My settings are below.

Camber 0/0
ride height 60/60

The other suspension parts don't really do anything to top speed so tey are pretty much stock.

1st gear = 2.871
2nd gear = 1.779
3rd gear = 1.236
4th gear = 0.906
5th gear = 0.701
6th gear = 0.571
final = 3.830
auto = 22

Downforce is at the minimum settings front and back.

This should get the Viper at least above 241. I hope this helps anyone.

Yes, the settings are for the Oreca.

Move your final ratio first (to 3.830), then move your auto setting to 22.

I did NOT touch the induvidual gears.

Hope this clears things up.

The final gear

I get 214 with full Down force on the long straight on the ring.

do not touch the individual gears, only play with the final gear.

1st race it normaly by trying to get to red line by the end of the race ie on the back stretch where the finish line is. I had a max of 219MPh

2nd move the final gear only, to widen the gears then race agian you will notice that the car will go a little faster, this is how I figured out the power band on the Oreca is not around the redline.

keep doing that until your car cannot go any faster.

EG I do around 190 in 5th gear, when it switches over to 6th it accelerates like a mofo, you should come out of the 1st turn at 212-214 mph, it's sounds wierd since your at low RPM making you think you are not going that fast but DAM breaking 230 is sweet!!!

I am at work and I will post my gearing later

hi.you kindly helped me out with my oreca last summer.since then alot has happened and everything on my memory was wiped so ive had to start again.i bought another viper and my setting are almost the same as yours but the car is lucky to go 229mph on the test course where last summer it was going 234mph.this extra speed does help me.ive done the tranny trick and my final gear setting is 2.782.down force is down.you no more than me could you help me again please.ive gone through my notes ive kept on this car and serched the posts and threads but no matter what i do nothing helps.hope you can.thanks.

Want Viper settings? I´m currently trying to break 300mph in the SRT-10, and I´m up to 299.88...
I´ll try the Oreca Viper too, as I know it can do more than 300 mph on the testtrack.

Always use the testtrack for highspeed tests, as both the Nürburgring- and the Le Mansstraights are too bumby.

Want to go even faster? Try out the settings in my sig!
Note that I never do wheelies, as I feel that is kind of cheating.

Hey, I was fiddling around with my SRT-10, and managed to go 234.59MPH.

Hey Team666, can you post your viper setting for that 299speed?

cheers, syco

EDIT: I just managed to get 277.63MPH out of her! going for 280, and beyond

With this setting I managed to pass 300 mph, as shown:

The settings were, Front/Rear

Tyres R5/R4

NOS 50

Brakes doesn´t matter.

Springrate 3.9/3.6
Rideheight 156/86
Damber Bounce side 1/1
Damper rebound 1/1
Camber 2.5/0.0
Toe 0/0
Stabilisers 1/1

Gears
1-2.100
2-1.430
3-1.050
4-0.800
5-0.675
6-0.580
Final-2.730
Auto-6

to achive these numbers, start by sliding final to it´s max, then set auto to 6, and then adjust Final as stated. 1 - 6 last.

ASM/TCS all 0

Downforce 0/30

Buy all the best parts, but don´t fit a LSD, since that seemed to hamper the top speed. Obviously you don´t have to buy any brake parts either.

Note that these settings are usesless on all tracks except Test Course.

Good luck!
