Hello all!

Just finished up not too long ago. I placed second 32secs behind first, who was noCHEESEallowed. He was running an older Mercedes, forget the model. Constancy is what killed me, as he averaged out 1.3secs faster per lap over 24 laps. Not too bad, but I need to nail each lap if I want to compete in the Civic. The race started out very tight, mostly Civics and an FTO (? I think) and spread out about a quarter way through. A few slower laps I can lend to mis-shifts or braking too late, but overall I hung in there pretty well. This was my first online race against any friends in any form and I had a blast. The restrictions are what made it interesting, and had a ton of fun. Gotta work on being consistent though, as over 24 laps it's the killer. I hung on to first for a good 12-13 laps, but after that I started to lose a couple hundredths here and there. He was nailing mid 2:07s every time and I was varying between 2:07 and 2:09.

All are welcome next time. Great, clean, fun race.

Congratulations, and thank you for the update!

I know in my own too-infrequent online ventures, if I am fortunate enough to be in first for any length of time, I tend to push too much, and screw up massively.

I need a loop tape or something - Breathe. Steady, Smooth. Breathe. Steady, Smooth.

I'm guessing noCHEESE used one of these two relatively stylish rides:

190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91

or, somewhat less likely, but cooler:

300 SL Coupe '54

A day late and a dollar short, but...

I just ran some laps in the MGF and impressed myself. I beat my S2000 time but I'd say it was dead even with the S really, since I didn't get all there was out of the S. The MGF was too loose for sure with stock weight distribution. I just couldn't dial it out with suspension. But once I added ballast to 50/50 it came to life. :D

And the Supra is sexy but slow. :dunce:

hey all the race great. wish u guys could have made it. a friend of mine and i used to do races with cool stipulations all the time thats where i came up with this type of racing, and its kind of how i tend to look at the game and the cars perforences overall. not necessarily by pp but general performance and relative power to wieght ratio. finding cars and tuning styles this way is a blast when everyone can kind of find theyre own niche to compete with. and yes i was in a 190e 2.5-16. i just wanted to let you guys in here know that this type of racing is going to become a weekly race series slotted for thursday nights at 9:00pm est. i will post something in the proper forum but i wanted to giv all here a heads up first before i make it official on the forum. there were 6 of us racing and 1 person backed out because he couldnt make it, so there are 9 spots left for newcomers.

the way this series will work is as follows. it will be a random series!
the winner of the race will pick new rules to follow for the next week, leaving a week for everyone to put a car together for whatever track the winner picks. races will probably be around an hour long.

i want to start things out slow so this weeks stipulations are as follows.

-350pp
-sports hard tires
-autumn ring
-about an hour long (as people start letting me know average lap times we can set #of laps)
-no race cars/concept/RM/wings
-all tuning allowed *except diff*

hope u guys can do it or at least give some good input as u did with this past event.

I tried the Lancia Stratos 73.

Set up according to the rules posted above and with a couple laps of practice, I was at 206. Could probably improve the times with some more setup and seat time.

Interesting car to drive and you probably wouldn't see another one in the race.
