Fastest Evo?

Im a big fan of evos; i just want to know which model In-Game
is the fastest version?

I was actually looking for the Evo III since i own the IV and so far it has the best acceleration and top speed compared to my other few Evo's. But i dont own any model before IV.
 
Does that include TCs, Rally Cars? If so, that must either be the Evo X TC, or the Evo Rally Cars. If not, then it might be the Evo X.

Sorry if I'm wrong.

It doesnt include rally cars but it does include the TC; surprisingly my IV is much faster than my EVO X and TC. But im curious about any previous models

Which is the fastest Evo exluding:

Rally, TC, RM, LM, Tuning garage versions, etc.


I am looking for the fastest in terms of both accel and top speed(I, II III IV V VI, X only), street versions only.
Now i have a IV, V, VI, X and TC and so far with my tuning; the IV is so far the fastest.
Now to me there seems to be a pattern emerging here: My IV is faster than my V and VI; and my V is faster than VI, so I just have to ask is the III the fastest?

p.s. seanneedscar you said the III is fast as well... Can you post your comments on the accel, speed and shifting?

Sorry im making you guys go through so much trouble; i just want the fastest model so that i make sure its worth trading for
 
What version IV are you using and what version VI? Find it odd that your IV is faster. The VI RS TMs are beasts either stock or tuned. Just remember that the RS doesn't have the AYC on it so when you tune it you need to install and properly set up the adjustable LSD.

the viii rs is the fastest street evo, in the 1/4 mile (drag racing)

i cannot speak for its top speed but its weight and hp make it the fastest in that category. presumably, it would be the fastest on a road course, again, in a strictly street car class.
 
Why don't you buy them all and test them? They are cheap, and readily available. I'm pretty sure I've got almost all of them.

Do the acceleration tests at Route X, and then do five laps in each at either Cape Ring South or Trial Mountain and you should have a fairly definitive result. I'd bet on it being either the VIII MR or the IX.
 
I've got all evolution generations and so far have found the Evo 5 GSR has the fastest top speed so far, from the one's I've tested. It'll run around 205mph easily, which was about the same as the HKS model. It's not definitive though, as I've still got some of the other models to test yet, and rework the setup on the HKS, but of the regular GSR's the 5 is my fastest.
 
It all depends how you set the gear ratio's i guess your testing on route X.
 
Stock v Stock would give you the best basis for comparison, tuning muddies the waters to the point of the comparison being almost irrelevant.
 
Ok i actually wrote these posts without checking the exact models of the Evo's I have; i just tried to do it from memory.

The ones i have:
VIII GSR 03 ---> the fastest(so far)
IX GSR 05
VI GSR TM SCP 99
TC
X GSR 07

I dont know which exact models are left included in the game, but i am looking for the VII and IV; but the IV is in the dealership. So i technically cant buy all evos right now(@peter_vod).

@Smutty what is your opinion on the VII(since you have it)? Is it not as fast?


@peter i could do stock v stock but then it wouldnt determine the true potential of the car. I also use the same gearing in all of the Evo's(roughly) so it does kind of tell me everything i need to know about the car.
 
Alot of peole speak the truth here, a few talk crap.

As the wise guys know - firstly, it's subjecttive - fast as in what, acceleration, track (which track), stock, tuned, race car or road car?

Or just the fastest full stop?? Which is used for what??? Er....going fast...??

The RM'd EVO, TC and HKS are all pretty "fast" in terms of performance, but if you don't set them up right then you might aswell be driving an EVO 1 from '92 or whenever it is. You get a setup anything other than "good" then you're going backwards. Unless you're racing against other guys with crap setups too.

For road cars, online track racing, the ones to go for are definately:

EVO IV rs TM
EVO VIII MR

As mentioned, most "RS" EVO's seem to be better than the premium GSR's, but this is not uncommon, I've seen favouritism for standard versions of car over premiums with a few brands (like the R34 skyline too).

The VIII MR is just an beast, whether it's stock or tuned, throw it around Autumn Ring (stock, just engine and chassis rebuild) then do the same with other EVO's.... Straight away you can tell the difference.

I love the V and VI's EVO's, I've been racing different EVO's (road cars - sports tyres) online now for a year, compared to the Scoobies the EVO are crap, but, use a good one, find a good setup and choose your track and regulations carefully, then you can definately raise some eyebrows from some very puzzled Scooby drivers wondering what the hell you've done to that car..

Scoobys, just buy, jump in a go fast, EVO's take alot more work, but stick at it, choose wisely, tune wisely and you can be rewarded.

Also, as mentioned above, get rid of the AYC and go for a custom LSD, I do this with all the EVOs (that have AYC) and it takes alot less time to get them setup well.

Most of the guys I raced with who also like EVO's have made that change too...

But don't expect miracles, it won't happen. Bide your time and wait for the right moment..
