Thats a lot for a new(ish) coin. Reminds me of the guy who put 5 rare Lincoln pennies or nickels into circulation just to get more people into coin collection. Not sure if any of those were ever found, or if I even know what I'm talking about, but still a cool idea.

Hey, now I know why the flipside of the coin is called "tails". Now the question is, why do you print lions' asses on the backs of your coins?

A guy sold 14 on eBay for £155. He listed them as "undated on the heads side".

Which all 20p pieces are.

Imakuni, has your friend sold them yet? I take it you told him how much they were worth and you didnt ask him for 80 pence to get some sweets... 💡

Well  at anyone who buys these regular coins for that much. If they are that stupid they deserve to be ripped off. Afterall the seller is not even telling a lie, sure it's morally wrong but it's not illegal. :sly: Maybe eBay should remove them, but I know I wouldn't, let the idiots buy them I say.:trouble:

Not yet, he's thinking of holding onto a couple and selling them to coin collectors later in the year. Another friend sold hers for £500, which she was very happy with!

Alas, I don't even have any of the new-design coins at the moment. Which is odd as I've found the new-design 20ps the most common by far.

I always miss out on money-making schemes! :p

After looking at the only 20p I have, I have just relized that this guy may actually be selling the rare coins, as the 20p I have is dated on the heads side. I can't believe no-one has pointed this out yet. You see since they released the new design coins, the date has been move from the tails side onto the heads side. This is what has caused undated coins, when they were produced they used the new tails side ( no date ) but then accidently used the old heads side ( so again no date ). Of course the guy could have been selling pre 2008 coins as they wouldn't be dated on the heads side either.

I have a large whiskey bottle, into which I chuck all my pocket change.
This morning I emptied it and examined all the 20p coins.
I have four of the correct design.
They all have dates on.
Dammit :ouch:

Thats real funny are people really that gullible/greedy?, damn if only Id thought of that, as the only other UK coin not bearing the date on the reverse is two pound coin....hmmm that gives me an idea!
