Recently I've been hooked to Alien Ant Farm and Linkin Park.
:odd:    I guess I must be too old or something cause I've never heard of either one. I'll just stick to Ted Nugent and Aerosmith.

#@%&*!

I had an ant farm when I was a kid, but I don't think it was alien.  But I do live just south of Chicago and we do have a Lincoln Park.  Does that count?  :rotfl:

LOL, we were just in Chicago about 2 weeks ago for vacation. Stayed right across the street from Grant Park. The view from the planetarium is breathtaking... :)

Linkin Park is like a hybrid type band. Some people think it is punk but it isn't. It's a mix between rap/hip hop/and all kinds of rock. They really suprised me.. I heard them a few days ago and I really can't stop listening to them, literally. It's not as bad as Limp Bizkit, no curse words or anythings. All good lyrics and no curse words, what music should be like.

Anyways, if you have Morpheus or any other File Sharing program, search Linkin Park or Lincoln Park. Either one, they both come up. The songs you should get are Crawling, One Step Closer, and With You. All great songs...

Alien Ant Farm is in the same category as Linkin park in a way. They made a remix of Micheal Jacksons old song. And to tell you the truth, this one sounds frickin very good. The guitar rocks on this song...

Search Alien Ant Farm. When the song Smooth Criminal pops up, click it, let it download, then listen. :)

That's just what I've recently been hooked to. I also listen to the oldies. Like :

Guns N Roses (not really oldie, but 80s-90s)
Ozzie
ACDC

The list goes on.

Thanks for the info Crash, I'm always open to new music and I may have heard some of their songs, but I will definetely check it out.

No problem man, I'm here to help old farty p00ts get with the 21st century. JK man ;)

Anyways.

If you don't understand the lyrics just by listening to them, go to Linkin Park Website. If you have a nice, good, thinking brain, you can put the lyrics together and they are quite genious if you ask me.

Sometimes we need all the help we can get. :rotfl:

Ok, this old fart likes Nelly, Outkast, Cake,  Rage against the machine and Incubus for starters.  Nothing like a little alternative to start your morning and some funk to end it.
Im not your typical old fart when it comes to music.  I like the old music, but its just that, old.  How many times you got to listen to it to appreciate it?
Jazz is my favorite, just no radio stations that play it.
Ill have to check out the bands you talked about.  Sounds interesting.
Later.

for all you consumeristic pop culture bigots that thrive on weak chords, cracked beats, and meaningless lyrics, i say this:  turn off MTV, stop paying for ammo in the record industry's civil war, and take the time to really listen to the music in your cd players; and acknowledge the anti-pop revolution. 😈 as you can see i hate pop culture :reallymad:  but... what i do like: red hot chili peppers, primus, james taylor, the wallflowers, goldfinger, alice in chains, soundgarden, tool, skynard, zeppelin, dylan, and crosby stills and nash, to name a few.
