Don't worry, I searched but I couldn't find anything, so here it goes.

What's your favorite decade of cars? And why is it your favorite decade? Maybe even tell us about your favorite cars that came out of that decade?

Well, for me, it would have to be the 90's. This decade proved to be very good for Japan, as it's when they started gauging big interest in sports cars. Big engineering breakthrough too. They may have not been know for having giant motors, or big displacements, but they were fast.

A couple of the greatest rivalries in motoring history came out of this time too. Like 300ZX vs. 3000GT vs. RX-7, the twin turbo maniacs. Or the Supra vs. Skyline, the Japanese supercars. And let's not forget, STI vs. EVO, a war that's still going on today with arguably the greatest AWD rally cars of all time. But revivals went through in this era, most specifically for Roadsters. The Miata was heading this front, and I don't think two seater roadsters would be as popular today without that car.

But Japanese cars weren't the only cars having fun. Nope, the Germans were too, and lots of it.

Got this car on FM3, as well as this one.

Audi made a very good little rally, sexy beast it is.

Then there was Italy's answer to the Quattro.

Then, here came the birth of one of the best sports cars to date, this time coming from Britain.

I'm stuck between the 80's and the 90's. There are so many good car that came out in both of them.

Since the EVO's dead, the STI won by default. As for my favorite decade, It's the '90s.

That and a whole lot more make the 90's the best automotive year.

'60s had the best cars in my opinion.

This is exactly why it's hard for me to choose a favorite decade. The 60's - late 70's had some of the best in my opinion. However, at the same time you can't discredit the the modern muscle cars, sports cars, exotics, etc.

I absolutely hate 80's music and fashion... but I still think that era made some of the best cars. That'll be my vote.

What on earth were the '00s all about?

Electric Cars?

What do you mean the Evo is dead? I thought that they were making an XI?

sounds like a bunch of JDM fanboys are posting here mentioning the 90s but posting no references to other cars but japanese.

EDIT: correction: ONE JDM fanboy.

The 30s, because:

The '70s for me, because this is when the majority of the most legendary Australian cars were produced and the American muscle produced some fine tender during these years as well. Japan gave birth to cars like the Skyline Coupe GT-R, '70s Celicas, etc. etc., but all the other decades come an extremely close 2nd place.

They said they won't but theres rumers that if they do it'll be a hydrid.

Ah, yeah I've heard that too. Will be a depressing day if it becomes a hybrid, unless they pull a 918 Spyder.

I'm going to go with Cano on the 1930's, I love everything about Art Deco styling and the 1930's had that in spades. Cars actually looked like something back then and just oozed class. It's a toss up between the 1920's and 1940's on which one would come second.

The 80's and 90's were the worse decade for cars in my opinion, a bunch of boxes with zero style. Sure there were a handful of supercars that were cool but that's about it.

If that had a black interior it would easily be in the top five cars that I must own.

What happened with the 918?

1930s for me. The era of the 'coachbuilt' car. This is a completely lost concept. The craftsmanship, the dignity, and the uniqueness of all the coachbuilt cars can never be replaced. I too love the art deco style.

I would say the 60's are the best. The peak of automotive design and even today, car manufactures are trying to bring back designs from the 60's. Of course, it's mostly because my favorite car is in that decade, the E-Type. ^_^

Prefer the 80's by a wide margin. Such beautiful shapes...

Yes, because initial batch was sold in the 80's, no matter how much you try to argue against it. Also, it's one of the coolest 80's cars, because it pissed off both Germans and Aussies on race tracks.

You realize that both of those cars from the 80's. (The M3 began production in 1986, the Ur-quattro 1980. The Ur-quattro was discontinued in 1991, the M3 a year later.)

Yeah. But I know that the Warsteiner M3 was from '91 I believe. Not entirely sure about if the Quattro shown is the UR though.

So the 300ZX Z32 and the NA Miata are also both characteristic of the 1980s then?
