I think we've had at least 3 threads about favorite bass player - and I'vee been thinking, what about the rest??

Here's my contributions:

Guitar player:
Dimebag of Pantera - Awesome sound + He's knows how to groove!!

Drummer:
Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel - No one is faster and tighter than him!

Vocalist: (That's a tough one...)

Chuck Billy of Tesatament - He's got a nice tone when he wants to, and some good growls too..

Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden - Not so much to say about him.. Very clean tone, and a good voice..

In order,
SRV on Guitar--'nuff said
Peart on Drums--He has one of the best style, and hasn't run into "drummer syndrome" (dies of Alcohol or drug related issues)
Vince Gill on Vocals.
I really have issues with screaming vocals and Vince Gill has the best tenor voice I've heard in a while.

Guitarist- George Harrison (The Beatles :))
Drummer- Keith Moon (The Who)
Vocalist- Lennon/McCartney, Freddie Mercury (Queen), Roger Daltrey (The Who), Peter Frampton, Burton Cummings (Guess Who)

Hummm... So many different styles and such talent.

Guitarist: SRV, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai
Drummer: Neil Peart
Vocalist: (ouch!) My brain hurts.... Can't think of any favorites, part of my down fall in music is that I rairly listen to the vocals. I know which ones I really dislike, but as far as favorites? It's tough... Sorry, I have to back out of the Vocalist... (No Entry)

~Peace~

For sure.

BTW - If anyone wants to hear some real badass guitar, I suggest you download "Guitar Duel From Crossroads", with Steve Vai and Ry Cooter. That's some of the craziest guitar I've ever heard.:bigeye:
;)

Favorite Guitar Player: Alex Lifeson (Rush (duh))

Faorite Drummer: John Macintire (Tortoise, Sea and Cake, etc.)

Favorite Bass Player: Don't have one.

Favorite Singer: Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star)

I'll be different and pick some more modern artists for this.

Guitarist: Tom Morello
Drummer: I'll get back to you on the drummer.
Vocalist: Bradley Nowell
Bassist: Flea

Guitarist: Jimmy Page
Drummer: Trey Cool
Vocalist: Thats tough...probably a tie between Steven Tyler and Art Alexaxis.
Bassist: Flea

I didn't think about Geddy...thanks Klos.

And Rumple..how can you say that? It seems to me that all he does is hit the drums real hard screaming about his adolescent disadvantages. But thats just me.

I know he doesn't sing, but I've seen videos and it looks like he's screaming about why wants to kill his mom or something. I dunno. Maybe I'm just weird.

maybe you are :reallyodd

i know you guys dont like slipknot but the guy has mad skills that should be acknowledged

if you cant see that then its your prob,
anyway, i respect him

He has his own new band/ album coming out that is supposed to be some of the most extreme drumming ever heard, he says it is going to be the hardest thing he has ever done on drums before. (not hard as in sound, but hard as in technical difficulty). I think its going to be called Hell Pigs or War pigs or some crap like that. He is in another crap-tacular band rightnow called "The Murderdolls" where he appears unmasked and playing guitar (me thinks)
anyway, when you sit him behind a set of drums guy can make magic

The more I think about this question the harder it is to answer, even though I tried before.

For me it chages all the time. Six months ago I would've said Jimi Hendrix. I also would've chosen Geddy Lee and left "singer" blank.

I think it totally depends on the kind of music, their whole angle on mucical expression and creativity, and their technical proficiency. Technical proficiency is nothing without a good song.

It also depends on what you're into at the moment. I have so many CD's and most of them are dormant most of the time. Then I get in a different mood and start listening to different ones or buy something new.

It's hard to have a favorite anything for more than a month.

Nah, he doesn't have the best voice. Great guitarist/drummer, though.

But the thread asks for your favorite, so I guess it's a matter of opinion. I'll shut up now, for at least 30 seconds.

If you care, Geddy Lee is the master of the bass.

Geddy is a master, but lets not forget Steve Harris (Iron Maiden). Victor Wooten (Bella Fleck and the Fleck Tones) is pretty damn good to.

that is some bad ass tune .. took me a year to learn how to play that tune got it cracked though :)

Joe satriani is one of my favorites also can't count out jimi Hendrix:D

Geezer.....and Pako:p

Grohl for drums and Iommi for the guitar, singer = ozzy

Out of curiousity, why is this thread still in the Rumble Strip?

I can't possibly name a favorite. But I will name some favorites:

Guitar: Stevie. OK, I lied about not having a favorite - SRV wins for versatility, let alone all the other reasons to love him. But for some following acts, I'll mention Robert Fripp, Frank Zappa, Ry Cooder, Robert Cray, Adrian Belew, Brian Setzer. Steve Vai is technically inhuman, but too flash for his own good.

Bass: Graham Maby, Mark Sandman, Tony Levine, John Entwistle, Les Claypool.

Drums: Bill Bruford, Dale Bozzio, Danny Carey, John Bonham.

Vocals: I'm opting out. I know who I hate and there's no point in complaining about them.
