I had Stunt Car Racer on the Commodore 64. Great game... The Roller Coaster track was my favorite.

Also the original Test Drive series on the Commy were awesome for their time. There was also an F1 game, I can't remember what it was called but it was a lot of fun.

I loved GT2, Top Gear 2, Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, Mach Rider(I think it was called, for famicom/JPN NES), F1(famicom).

The Favorite Old-School Racing Game Award goes to......... Top Gear for SNES and GT1 for PS!👍

I always loved Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, I used to go to my friends house all the time to play it!

I consider the anything before the 32-bit era old-school... I'm only 21 and I sound old now.

If by old-school you mean 2D top-view, I would say F1 Grand Prix. It is an arcade game played on the MAME arcade emulator ( great stuff by the way ).

Some"new" old-school games are Generally , Turbosliders.

My 1st 3D racing game was Sega Rally on the Saturn console. I have to admit that this game get me hooked on racing games and sims

Ah the good old days
.

Sega Rally Championship on the Saturn. When I first got my Saturn way back in the day it came with a demo disc containing the first track of Sega Rally. I played that until my eyes bleed. Later I found the actual game at a pawn shop & mastered the other tracks. I can honestly say that this is one of the few racing games I'm really good at.
