Favorite Pen or Pencil Brand?

So what is it? I personally like Sanford pens and Dixon pencils.

Why do they entice me with fancy colours and green and gold bands near the eraser when they know I'd rather have the really, really cheap ones?

As far as pencils go, from my pencil fighting days, I would have to say "Goldfish"... they were made out of the hardest wood, yet the lead remained flexable enough to add long gevity to the life of the pencil during multiple fights...

Really. First off, I don't know any writing implements that are attracted to members of the same sex. You people really need to figure out what "gay" means before you meet one.

Second - not interested? DON'T READ. If you think this thread is stupid, how stupid are YOU for reading and replying?

Third - I use Lamy fountain pens, though I have a cool German TTN 'Core' fountain pen that my wife got me. I don't use pencils much but when I do, they are Koh-I-Noor mechanicals, usually 0.7mm or 0.5mm.

Rotring makes really nice pens and mechanical pencils, too. They make a beuty of a fountain pen that is machined out of billet aluminum, then anodized. If I didn't have three nice fountain pens already, I'd get one.

Well, I like all of the Mazda pens/pensils I can get really...I don't use wood pensils anymore, I'm currently using a very old and warn out Mazda mech. pensil, which is a Bic I believe...then I have an encridibly old Mazda twisting pen(turn on way, the piont comes out, visa-versa)that I had to fix with other pen parts but now it's cool...and I got a newer(but cracked slightly) Mazda twist pen that is cool too. Then(and then) I got a fine-line marker/highlighter Mazda combo thingy which was made in Italy...and also a Subaru pen(a Pental)which I sometimes need to use or I lend it out to people...

The expensive as hell Mazda pens(that my dad got with awards and stuff, we have about 10 of these that I know of)write like crap, they are ball-point something but compared to the other ballpoint pens, they suck! Just for looks I guess, but I don't carry any around with me.

pfft writing stuff is for wusses...............oh hold on........................err I dont care anymore as long as the damn thing works. I used to use Parker fountain pens, but I always used to loose them, so now I just grab whatevers available.

I actually like the heavier pens. As a nurse, I've found they have some real advantages:
1). nobody steals them if you leave one layin' around.
2). Great for smackin' hands when people start reachin' in to what you're working on.
3.) You don't have to press down as hard when you're writing. The pen is doing al the work for you.

Yes indeed - that's why I want the billet aluminum Rotring. It weighs a couple of ounces easily. Plus it isn't as big around as the Mont Blancs. Some of those things are the size of a... of a... a "personal relaxation device".

And it's true - people always give a fountain pen back, if they don't immediately put it down the instant they see what it is. I've had my oldest pen for more than 12 years, and I've never lost it or had it stolen.

But i really like big fat permanent markers great for vandalising your mates face's when they're passed out drunk oh i better not get into that topic (things you have done to your mates when drunk)
