My favorite race car would be the 908 HDI FAP. Its a beautiful car but be 2 aggressive with the accelerator and you'll smack a straight donut in the middle of the track.Beautiful acceleration and speed but its a bit to light, the car is originally made for a manual driver because shifting gears on auto is a biotch!!!! I wanna know everyones favorite race car and why.

I have a few...
For the 590-620PP range, I have to go with my FTO touring car. this thing is stupid fast for the numbers you get out of it.
For 625PP I like the Furai. Handles great and is the only car at this level that can reach the 2J without too much tuning.
For 650, The RX-7 LM race car is a monster. Handles great and has good speed on the straights.
For the LMP class, I have to go for the Minolta. It's the only one that I've been able to really get right. it sticks to the road like no other, and my tranny setup on it is just rediculous. only the 787B Stealth model can beat it.
For F1/ prototype class, I have to go for the F2007. The sound is better than the FGT and it's a lot more stable. The X1 is just a pain in the A$$ to drive with a wheel.
 
Since GT2 I've always loved the Toyota GT-One. I also love to drive the CLK-LM car , even though it's slightly heavier than the other LM cars of its era.

For DTM cars it's the Mercedes Evo and the Alfa

For the GT500 and GT300 it's the TARA cars I love , this is due to the "Drift Kings" connection to the gt500 car and team. I love my Mobil One NSX as it has 666 bhp ;)

For lower PP classes the Spoon S2000 race car and the Amuse S2000 GT Turbo feel the most easy to drive and reactive.

Recently I've become more attached to the GT300 cars and the brilliant RX-7's.
 
For 650 pp I use my 98 BMW McLaren F1 race car wins every time at the Nurburgring one of my favorites to use.

Le man: Mazda 787b

Oh my freaking god I love this car.its my all time favorite le man car.its not easy to drive but if you careful with the accelerator,it could go around the nurburgring with a really good tune in 5:56 seconds

Race car:chapperal 2j

it's just like a x1 but slower,have three gears,have two fans,and understeers more.but still,it's the best race car in the game

Gt500:Nissan gtr stealth model

This car grips like it's a f1 car and the tire wear is the best in this car too because it doesn't matter what kind of tune you put in it,it could last it tires up to over 10 laps around fuji.its the best gt500 car to use in a real gt500 race

I beat two Minolta with my Mazda 787b and with my tune on it and my Mazda wasn't the stealth model too and the x2010 is a pain to drive but if you drive the x2011,you gonna like it better then the x2010. I know because I got a wheel too.

I love the Peugeot, it's perfectly driveable, has an immense torque and with properly set tranny and proper (early) shifting it's as fast as the devil. If I need easy money, I downtune (power reduction) mine to 650 pp and let's conquer the 650 pp seasonals. :cool:

I also love the Jaguar XJ13 race car '66. I expected it to be an undriveable beast, but it is not, it's a fantastic car. And I run it completely stock, maybe lowered the suspension a bit. Though I think that equiped RH tyres grip far more than the tyres on the real car back in the 60s would. But it's just my thought.

Yup, it's the Ford GT MkIV (Ford MarkIV Race Car '67, as it's called in game). Driving the thing is just an event in itself, stringing together a perfect lap of La Sarthe (No Chicanes) in it gives an unbeatable feeling and blasting down the Mulsanne Straight is just awesome. :drool:

I also love the Falken GT-R race car. It's so much fun, especially in the rain as the 4WD makes it that bit more stable. 👍
 
SLS AMG Stealth - Because I love the SLS AMG. :D
Mazda 787B Stealth (and normal) - Because performance, looks and sound.
Ford GT40 - Because looks and sound.
Nissan R92CP - Because of the raw power and performance.
Mercedes-Benz C9 Sauber - See above.
 
Its a tie between the amazing 1967 Ford GT Mark IV and the fabulous 1967 Ferrari 330 P4

Neither of them are ridiculously powerful(unlike the Group C and LMP cars in this game) but at the same time are powerful enough to get the job done. the Mark IV is so easy through the corners that the only thing I have to actually worry about is going hard on the gas while cornering at high RPMs and inducing a slide, It honestly feels lighter in the corners than the ferrari. The 330 P4 on the other hand, I like not because of driving ease but sheer thrill, every corner in this thing tries to kill you and as its parting gift: a 450 horsepower V12 in a body that weights a mere 792kg/1746lbs. resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 568.18 bhp per tonne, which is more more than a bugatti veyron, and if it weren't bonkers enough you could add a Stage 3 Turbo which will bump it up to near 640 horsepower, enough to toast supercars and ricers alike in a standing mile drag race.

EDIT: I honestly feel that if the GTP Le Mans series was still going strong, a turbocharged 330 P4 could keep up and possibly win if the horsepower limit was 650hp(which is a more realistic number for the power these LMPs are actually running in the races)

Lexus SC430 Petronas Tom's. Handles well and doesn't do a gazillion miles per hour.

X2010 with 50% engine limiter and 200 kg ballast. Futuristic ride but not totally unrealistic. Doesn't snap your neck and doesn't kill your wheel.

Ferrari 330 P4. Take it out for cruising, then shift down and floor it and you'll see why.
 
Very difficult question to answer. There are so many good racing cars but there are a few dogs as well.

Le Mans: Nissan R89C. It's astonishingly fast and handles brilliantly as well without too much oversteer or understeer. I also like the way it looks and sounds.

Historic: Chapparal 2D at the moment. It has loads of grip which allows very high cornering speeds and because it's so light, it's very easy on tyres as well. The lack of gears makes it very good for B spec races because Bob can't spin up the wheels and lose time. I should have the 2J by the end of the night though as it's only 567 days away. Can't wait.

Other: I really like the Mugen Motul Civic Race Car '87. it's just so easy to throw it into corners at very high speeds and it just doesn't run out of grip. It also destroys other Amateur series FF A.I cars.
 
The Bentley Speed 8 is my fave - I completed the Le Mans 24 hrs in it - the gutteral growl as it accelerates out of Arnage heading towards the Porsche Curves at day break is pure adrenaline magic....and its a standard!!!!!! (but one hell of a beast!)
 
I think its impossible to have one favourite race car, so here are my favourites from some of the catagories in GT5;

Le mans - Pescarolo c60 hybride
Historic - Ferrari 330 p4
GT500 - Calsonic impul R35 GT-R
Touring car - Subaru Impreza TC
Race Mod - Honda Integra Type R (DC5) RM
 
For me, its a close one between the Tom's Castrol Supra 97 and the Toyota GT One. I've seen both cars in the first two games and although the GT One is clearly faster, the Supra is still a Supra, which is awesome.
 
My list in order of PP - C9 Mercedes(722), 787B(706), CLK-LM (683), Mclaren Race car(653), Calsonic Impulse GT500 (600), Opel Astra DTM(580), Mazda6 TC(527), BMW 320i TC(518) all of these except for one 1/2 is a premium car... please keep standards in gt6. >.<
 
For me there only one, the BMW 320i Touring Car. It is the only true touring car in the game for me and it handles beautifully :D. (Would wish for a Chevy Cruze touring car if I could though :(.)
