Alright guys, here they are. Vote on who YOU think is best bassist.
Also note, I did not include any pop-punk bassists (namely, Blink), as I do not consider them to be real bass players. If you happen to like them best (God help us  ), just check "other".

Oh, and tell us who you picked in your post...

oh, and my vote goes to Les Claypool. He just has an amazing sound that nobody can match

I am amazed that "Stu" (Stuart Hamm) and "Cliff" didn't make the list.

But anyhow, It's awefully hard for me to pick just one as my favorite as each one offers something a little different, so here goes my list of Favorite bassists is some kind of order of personal influence...:

Steve Harris - Iron Maiden
Geddy Lee - Rush
Stu - Joe Satriani
Jaco
Cliff - Old Metallica
Les C.
Flea

Alex Webster
Steve Harris
Jaco Pastorius
Ryknow
Les Claypool
Cliff Burton
Mick Karn

The shame, the dissapointment.... :shakehead

Just kidding, I know it's hard with so many greats to try and remember all of them.

I think you can edit your Poll and add additional entries if you like...

only mods can edi them...

<_<

*looks at Pako, then looks at poll*

*ahem*
you know what to do
:D

thanks for fixin that up Pako!

*hands Pako a cookie*

I wasn't serious.:nervous::p Hmm, this thread reminds me. I heard about a downloadable file of a bass solo you did? Is that on your website? I'd like to get it.;) On topic though: I voted for Victor Wooten, because chronix showed me some of his music, and he sounded good.:p;)

Hmm Tough choice. I think that Flea is may favorite. But I'm a huge Metallica fan.

I think maybe Flea cause he's cooler.

Or what about me? Na I'm not that good

I know, I know....and yes, Victor Wooten does have some pretty amazing stuff.... Check out some of his solo stuff to if you haven't got a chance to.

As far as a Bass Solo Vid....the links on my signature...:)

Oh, oops.:o I'll check it out now and get back to you.;)

And also, I wasn't serious about not being serious.:thatsodd:

I know you think you know what I said, but what I said isn't what I really meant, if that's what you thought I really meant to say, is in fact what you heard.

Exactly.

:thatsodd:

I just watched your bass video, and I must say:eek: That's not really saying anything though.:p After seeing that, I think you should be included in this poll.;) You da man cool guy.:thumbsup:

Well, I didn't vote, because I have a number of favorites both on and off the list. But here's a couple of additions:

Graham Maby - probably the most melodic bassist since Entwistle.
Mark Sandman - also a cool, instant-recognition sound.

Pako you are pretty good man

Shavo Odadjian of S.O.A.D. is probably my favorite bass player at the moment. I like the way his playing sounds. He's a big reason why their music is so great. Well, so are Serj, John and Daron.

Editing my posts again Pako?:p

And, how dare you rate yourself above Cliff :p

 Sorry man, but the dark side persuaded my post...:p

Pako! You rock! I always love the blues and you guys do it so great! I'm surprised no big labels have signed you yet!! You would do so great! Keep on keepin' on dude!

Hey thanks KosmikFool! It's hard around here...exposure wise. We're in Montana, and it's not like we have A/R Reps at every venue. We are trying hard, however, to get more venues out of the state for hopes of better exposure. And like you said, just gotta keep on keepin' on. :D

We are getting some exposure in the Tacoma, WA., Portland, OR. area, which we hope will give us the kind of exposure we need to be recognized by any labels looking for a fresh sound.

Until then, we just keep on playin' cuz that's what we like to do...
