Just like the title says...

For me:
Cinema: Enemy at the Gates
DVD: Terminator 2 (I know it's a 1991 film, but its DVD release was 2001!)

Same here both movies are great! I got my T2 DVD in 2000, X-mas 2000

Yeah? Here the release was slated for February 2001, but it finally came out at the end of October. I was  , but the wait was worth it!

I like the deleted scenes movie, it was good.

You're kidding, right?

Some of the good films I saw in 2001 that were actually viewable in a regular theater (as opposed to an Arthaus type theater):

Ghost World** - really excellent, best film of the year. Light years beyond most of what I saw this past year.

A.I. Artificial Intellegence
The Lord of the Rings - the fellowship of the Ring
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Best DVD (I believe this was released in 2001) -

"The filth and the Fury" - a documentary about the Sex Pistols

I never got a chance to see Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, I'll have to see that :)

It was Ok, but not what everyone built it up to be... See Jet Li's Fist of Legend if you want a really good Kung Fu flick. (It's a remake of Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection, but far superior in so many ways...) :)

Cool. I'll check it out. I'm not Jet Li's biggest fan, like Jackie better, but I'll still watch it.;)

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was well-produced, but rather boring. Seeing people fly instead of fight is comparable to watching "Driven" and expecting a horrible crash in every IndyCar race you see.

Gimme Shaolin vs. Ninja any day!
