Just wondered what everyone uses as their test track for new cars. I started with Tsukaba and although its one of my favourite tracks I think its a bit too short to really see the differences between cars, to really get to know them. So I now use Trial Mountain or my own circuit I made with coursemaker. Although the mental altitude changes in my custom track mean its more for fun :sly: So, what do you use?

I use Circuit De La Sarthe 2009 Weather Change/Time to test my cars. If I don't want to drive in the wet or some other changing factors I just select the track w/o the Time/Weather Change. I also select the SSR7 Strip track to test top speed.

I build my own little racetrack, which has Hills tight and wide turns straights and Points where you have to brake quite hard.
So everything to test the whole car.

Also there's a thing called Nordschleife, I don't really know If You know it :D
But it's still the best Testtrack evaaaar :D

My only gripe with the nurburgring is the length. One mistake can screw up a whole lap, and it tends to take me a while to settle into a new car and its abilities. At ~2mins/lap, a mistake is no problem, and I can still remember what I did wrong 2 mins later when I get there again!

Nordschleife doesnt even have to be about lap times. It is just such an amazing track to drive that after a few laps you will be alot closer to the car.

Try it in the Yellowbird. Best time ever.

I also use top gear track for cornering / speed testing, flat and good to get the feel of how fast you can actually go. Trial Mountain/Deep Forest/Grand Valley are also very good.

the top gear track is really good for testing braking and cornering capabilities and other things such as suspension tweaking and tuning, then the ring is the real test of capability/drivability.

I think I'll be able to do 7 mins on the ring after a few tries in my speed 12
