Feature to View A Single Post Removed?

Perhaps I'm not doing the right thing, but it seems to me I used to be able to arrange to see a single post, isolated from its thread. This was very useful for "reference posts". Especially, e.g., for printing. Now it seems an attempt to view a single post redirects you to viewing the entire thread. (The browser moves to the post you want, but then rest of the thread is still there).

I did change the feature recently so that only members logged into their account can view posts individually. If you aren't logged in to your account and try to view the individual post, you will be redirected to the post as it is contained in the entire thread.
