Right. I'm going to make a group called "The Fellowship of People Called Dave Who Like To Go Fishing." Note that you don't have to like going fishing, or even like fishing, or even like fish, or be called Dave to join.
Can I join?

I respect everypersons and their religion, i do not make fun out of them, but you have to admit that was quite funny

Great! :)

That's me. :D 👍

I understand. Also, I didn't see anything in your posts that would be considered offensive. I, on the other hand, have seen 2 posts that I would consider highly offensive -- but I'm not going to post them here. Rather, I'll send them to you in a PM.

I know... it's silly -- but don't let them get to you. Stay cool.

I'm not making fun of his religion. I used to be Lutheran, for cripe's sake. That was when I couldn't think for myself. I just don't think that we should worship a fictitious book that some nut wrote a long while ago. I am entitled to my opinion, as is XVII.

Guys, I think that's enough joking for now. I don't think this guy wants his thread closed down because of stupidity and spam, and he's making a serious attempt here, so I think we should all give him a little respect and only post here if it's a positive contribution to the thread. ;)

I'm moving this to the teams forum.

When a select group of racers wish to assemble under one nomenclature, that is considered a team.

I highly suggest that this thread not turn into a discussion of religion, but stay as a groupd of christian racers. Anything deemed otherwise will result in warnings issued to the violating party.

I will pay attention to this thread, and advise everyone a modicum of respect.

If you do so, this thread and all subsequent versions of it will be closed instantly.

Understand something: you are treading extremely close to prejudice. Your intention may just be to provide fellowship for Christian racers, but that is a very fine line to walk - right on the edge of excluding the rest of the community. That would be discrimination and it will not be tolerated by the staff. It will take great care on all of your parts to avoid stepping over that line.

If this is a league of racers who happen to be Christian, so be it - but racing must be the focus. If this develops into a politico-religious organization, it will be moved to the Opinions board where it will have to take its chances among the heathen.

I trust this is clearly explained. What happens and how this league is received depends upon the actions of its members - upon you.

You're not getting this, are you?

This is a racing team made up of Christians. Talk about racing, then. Otherwise it becomes a Christian politico-social club, and it moves to the Opinions board.

I don't think he ever wanted it to be a racing team. He wanted a place for other christians who happen to race to praise their god and such. Maybe spread "the word" if the opportunity presented itself. That is why I find this thread a bit pointless. It would be best to put it into opinions.

I fail to understand the super christian mind. OK, so you believe in God, it's good that you have firm beliefs to rely on. But why go overboard with it, doing things like mentioning "the lord" frequently or starting threads about God on forums about a video game? I don't think it is all that great to just group with people of the exact same beliefs. You need to try new ideas or test your beliefs in discussions with others who disagree with you. Maybe you should start a thread called "heathens come here and give me one good reason why you don't have a faith" so you can understand what challenges you face later on (I think you mentioned becoming a pastor or something).

xcsti, please let this thread live or die by the actions of the 'team' members. There's a perfectly good Opinions board and that's where your post belongs.

Before anything, just know that this was wrongly moved. We're not a racing team; heck, we're not even a team...

1. what denomination are you
International Church of the Foursquare Gospel

2. favorite hymn/praise song (whichever or both)
How many can I have? Generally Deleriou5 is among my favorite songs. I also like the one called "Now That You're Near" (mainly for the rolling drum/guitar part right in the middle:
Hold me in Your arms
Never let me go
I wanna spend eternity with You

And now that You're near
Everything is different
Everything's so different, Lord
I know my life You've changed
I'm not the same
I wanna be with You
I wanna be with You
There's also that one called, "He Knows My Name."

3. favorite bible book and/or chapter and/or verse
I like all of the Psalms, just because they deal with so much that applies to real life and are generally so uplifting. It's also a book of hope for all of the promises listed in there. This is why I like it.

4. when did you get saved
I was 4. I'm sixteen now so you can do the math.

5. why you choose to be a christian
Not really sure, I can't really remember things back then, but I'm glad I did.

6. if you could do something better to please God in your life, what would it be
Serve him and listen more to him (of course I think everyone in the Way struggles with that a little bit).

7. favorite things to do while at church
Usually in a church service I'm a big behind-the-scenes guy who makes things run smoothely. I go to Faith Fellowship Church, and frequently run the sound board on Sunday Mornings (I have been told by the guy in charge that he thinks I'm the best mixer on the team now; now I just have to fight off that little thing known as pride).

Also, regarding a "joining," I don't think it should be necessary. If you're a Christian and you want some fellowship, I really think that you should just be able to post without fear of any kind of inhibition (no joining required). Ceremony and procedures never really sat right with me, so I don't think there should be a membership list or order. If you wanna associate with us, go right ahead. This is just me, but I think it should be the way things are run.

(also, if you don't have anything useful to say--that means not degrading or trying to uproot us--please don't post)

I don't believe it is a racing team either, but because most of the people who would be joining are racers (having played Gran Turismo at one point or another), the term fits. It's not praise of God (although technically it is, but I won't get into that), it's just a place for Christian's to hang and talk about God without fear of flaming or anything. We're not technically spreading the Word here, just discussing it and "the walk."

The Super Christian mind, as you seem to have put it, is defined by Christians who do nothing but talk about God. Quite frankly, if people are like that, either they're really led by the Spirit to post that, or they are putting on a show. As for the thread being on a video game forum, go looking through the topics in the rumble strip and tell me just how many of those topics relate to the game in its entirety. As for our choosing to associate with other Christians, let's say you have some great idea (like you're a very liberal Democrat), as a general rule, you'll want to stick to people who share your ideas. That is all we're doing here; sticking to other people who believe the same way we do. As for the whole thing with our challenging our beliefs, I feel that is not the way to do it. If you're a really liberal guy, you're not going to go to a bunch of super-conservative republicans to see if they can change your mind, that's just silly. What exactly is a "heaten"? Are you referring to those who are "unsaved"? Well, quite frankly, the only thing separating all of us from them is that we know a little more about what goes on in the end than they do (or at least we believe we do, which is as good as any "knowledge" you'll find).

I'm not one for arguing religion; that never gets anything done, and usually the person you're arguing against has found some stupid trivial misconception about the Bible or spirituality that doesn't get anything accomplished. That's not what this thread is for. We're not trying to preach to anyone, or smack the Bible in your faces, or "convert" you to Christianity. The sole purpose of this thread is for people who are already Christians to come and hang out, being able to talk without fear of flaming or anything of the sort. If this leads to a person converting after reading our posts, then I think that'll be awesome (especially since they're not intended to "save" anyone). Should you have any more questions, PM either me or the thread's starter (17 in Roman Numerals if memory serves correctly).
