The 500 Superfast was the last of the top-end Ferrari "America" Grand Touring cars.
The chassis was borrowed from the 330 GT 2+2 line, but fitted with new Tipo 208 5L V12
engine designed by Colombo, that was very similar to the Colombo "Short Block" V12, but shared
dimensions with the Lampredi "Long Block" V12 that was used in the 340, 375 and 410 Superamerica. The engine produced 400bhp, enough for a top speed of 174mph. It had a 4-speed
manual transmission with Overdrive or a 5-speed manual. The body was taken from the 400 Superamerica, but received a longer rear overhang that included a semi-fastback and a kamm tail.
The interior was lavishly equipped with Conolly leather and wooden veneers. The enormous price
(almost twice as much as the sportier 275) meant only 37 units were made.

Damn it sure does look sexy in blue...
