xbox sucks
It is very unfair that Ferrrari California is really fast compared to other cars. I've been playing 700PP for few months now and not even a single car passed me as fast as a Ferrari California by a mediocre driver online. On the straight line, it is so fast that it is impossible to keep up even I was right behind him under slip stream. Sony must fix the perfomance points on that thing!!

Have you raced it yet,the little bugger its fast but every once in a while it can get a little wild, well at least for me. Good car though best of the new by far.👍

I agree with you. And it's fun and I like how it feels! It looks girly and korean though.

I just checked the rankings though. It is VERY LITTLE faster than the f430 on time trials.

I raced a tuned Vette at Suzuka the day I got the Cali. It was a close, clean race (just the two of us) but when I messed up, I had very little trouble catching up. I think my opponent went off the road a couple times when I couldn't see him, though.

Oh. I won. :)

The only car I've found that will keep up with the FC in the 700PP Suzuka race is the Tuned Clio. Could just be my sorry driving but I can't lap Suzuka as fast in any other car as I can these 2.

I was very happy that the FC is so fast because I was bored with the Clio.

Shouldn't be about winning, should be having fun on the way to the line whatever place you end up :)

I definitely think they have set things way too much in favor of the Cali - somebody brought one to the 750PP Suz online event the day after the update and it was pulling away from my tuned Vette just before 130R. The person driving it hadn't even tuned it so it was WAY below 750PP. I was right in his draft after spoon and I never got a chance to pull along side him before 130R. That makes no sense to me but it's a great way to bring a new car into the game with a BANG!!!

Except for the straightaway speed, it is competitive with the GT06 untuned at Fuji.

If this car is really this great I want one!

I Could'nt agree more, thats why I dont care for some of the cars they have no soul. That little California is quickly becomming one of the most fun, other than the Amuse S2000 at Fuji.:sly:

Now, I don't see why you think Polyphony Digital would fake up performance on a car, because I think they make the peformance very accurate, like the Lotus Evora, people hate how the gears are but don't you guys think that's the way it's suppose to be?

If that's the case, look at GT4.

Yeah, exactly.

i remember PD updated the performance points if certain cars are outperforming others to a point where it becomes impossible to overtake them. That certainly makes some people lose interest to play online. It is always fun to race, but for some people, they race to win at the same time.

PD had many wrong specs, wrong details, etc...

In fact, stuff like this can be found straight back to Gran Turismo. As in the original.

It's true, it happens, but for the Evora gearing we don't know yet. Many thought the F40 gearing was wrong but it isn't.

Oh yeah,Does anyone know what this litle hottie will cost in real life,I'm sure its well out of my reach just would like to know.:dopey:

More than a F430, that's all I can say. Besides that, many dealers now want their clients to buy some sort of marked up F430 if they want a California early. :odd:

with the evora if you look in the gearing setup on quick tune the final gear can not be moved and the final speed on the gearing is over 300 mph.. this has to be majorly wrong.. surley?

and i think the cali is too fast, i was driving the tuned viper, and through the corners it wasnt as fast as me but on the straight away.. it just blew me away..

now im sorry but a tuned car vett, viper etc should not have any problems with taking on the cali..

otherwise i can see the entire american lemans, fia gt, etc etc all buying cali's

in my eyes the cali should be on par with the standard vette..

ive found some details on the Evora, i dont know how accurate they are.

The C5 Corvette Z06 had a 6th gear maximum of 270mph. It'd never reach it, but that's not the point of a 6th gear on a road car (or 7th in the California).

I've been driving the California on Beginner races. I was passed by a Ford GT on the straight at Fuji (just before the finish, annoyingly).

why is the California quicker than the F430?? i was racing one at sukuza, and i came 3rd out of 6- there was the final grid:

Ferrari California
Ferrari California
Ferrari California
Ferrari California
Ferrari F430
Ferrari F430

I thought the Ferrari F series cars where all the fastest ones.

The Cali seems quicker on average but I've beaten them plenty of times in the Pro race, so you can't really blame the car...

I did win quite a few races with the only F430 in the grid.
Also my laptimes are equal with the California and the F430 . 👍
Only because the California is easier to drive ( which is only to be expected since its newer ), doesn't mean it's necessarily quicker!
BTW i don't consider myself a very fast driver, rather cautious :)

From edmunds.com ,

Coming Soon
The 2009 Ferrari California has been made for people who highly value the combination of driving comfort and speed. Its mission is to attract new clientele, the people who have been finding their way to Aston Martin, Bentley, Mercedes AMG or even Porsche.

Moreover, the Ferrari California has been designed to generate such a high degree of customer satisfaction that Ferrari's brand loyalty will improve. Right now, 50 percent of Ferrari buyers have previously owned a Ferrari, but in Maranello they think an increase in loyalty is feasible.

The exact price of the Ferrari California is unknown as yet, but it is clear that it will be nearer to the F430 than to the 599 GTB and 612 Scaglietti. Fumarola says, "Establishing the price is simple. The California has to cost less than the F430 Spider because the Spider has 490 horsepower and the California has 460. So count on a price very close to that of the F430 coupe."

Also from edmods.com ,
Current Ferrari F430 $186,925 - $228,447 ( it's somewhere in this ballpark )

It's outta my league LMAO

and game in yours.

Dare I...

I shall!

So if we combine the two, we get a racing game. :dopey:

If the point isn't to win, then why don't they give the Gold trophy to the one who had the most fun?

Make you a deal. You don't tell me how to have fun, and I won't tell you how to have fun.

Methinks thou dost presume too much.

Your absolutly right. There's no way the California should be faster then a F430 tuned or not. Ferrari is paying off Polyphony Digital. There's too much Ferrari everything. Can we have a month of Online racing without Ferrari...Please..:):)

Yes, I agree. Ferrari must be paying PD so that the Ferrari California appears to be faster than the... Ferrari... F430... uhh...
