Ferrari could be in gt2, gt3 and possibly gt4 already....

the reason is that ferrari has a link with one of the cars in gt2 and 3. It's the Lancia Stratos. You see, if you don't already know the Lancia Stratos was originally planned to have a new revolutionary Lancia engine, but it was never used. At that same time the company Bertone( who designed the Stratos) were working on the Ferrari Dino 308, so he had plenty of Ferrari engines in his workshop. Then one day he amazed everyone by showing how the Stratos ran in road going conditions, and the ethusiasts said to Bertone, 'What's the engine in that car?' He replied, 'Don't worry, i put a Ferrari engine in there!' so the Lancia Stratos has little more Lancia content than its badge and proves my piont as to why Ferrari could have been in gran turismo all this time and we never new about it!
 
So, it uses a Ferrari V6, it's still a Lancia. I see what your getting at but nless it is a Ferrari, it isn't Ferrari.
 
The Venturi's in GT2 are very similar to Ferrari cars. They are called the "French" Ferrari's. There is not a good chance Ferrari will be in GT4, but we'll just wait and see...
 
It's still a Lancia though, the heart of it might be Ferrari.

It's not like we call the Shelby Cobra the Ford Shelby Cobra, because it originally had a Ford engine. :rolleyes:
 
Ferrari will never be in the Gran Turismo series thanks to EA! They have the rights for the Need For Speed Series. So, Don't even think about it, same goes with Porsche, Lamborghini and all the other exotic makers.
 
Same with the Lotus Elise, Toyota Celica engine, but its a Lotus.
 
The Lotus Elise has a Toyota MR2 engine....
 
Z06 lover is correct. The Elise due to be released here in the US has the engine from a Toyota Celica.

I read it either Raod & Track or Sport COmpact Car issue, I forgot. But it said," The Elise is powered by a Toyota MR-S Spyder engine." But thats in the new one. If he is referring to the Older Elise, I think thats the celica engine.

I think your right. Im gonna have to look for that magazine I read about it, I just read it yesterday.
 
Well yes, the older generation Celica and MR2 both shared that engine, but the newer Celica and MRS I have no idea about...

Well there is no UK Toyota MR2 with that engine. The Celica engine is definitely the same.

But in the UK, we have a Rover engine. Hah!
 
yeah, the mgf comes with a rover engine :p
 
But doesn't MGF own Rover, or is it the other way around?

MG Rovers been independant since it was bought from BMW by some guy, it has links with Tata at the moment.
 
How could Ferarri be in GT2/3 when we know it wasnt in there... hmmm pretty weird thread if you as me... but hopeing its in GT4, not counting on it but hopefully.......
 
Actually, if you read the description of the LAncia Stratos in GT2, it states how the engine was lifted from the Dino 246, the only "Ferrari" that doesn't have a Ferrari logo on it. Wierd, no?

And for those of you keeping score, the Vector M12 has a Lamborghini V12 powerplant, because at the time of the game ('99), it was owned by Lamborghini (sold in early '01, and before VW bought the Raging Bull Company).

Which essentially leaves out Hindustan as the only un-represented marque in all of Gran Turismo-land! :D

Ferrari could be in GT4, but Polyphony Digital would have to pay a massive price to EA to get permission, since EA won't want one of their main competitiors in the race sim market to get their hands on such legendary auto makers. So there is a possibility, albeit a small one, since I know KY has always wanted Ferraris in his game.

I think that PD should purchase exclusive rights to Honda, Toyota, and Nissan so EA can't do with Underground 2 (if it exists) what PD wants to do with GT. [/spite]
 
exclusive rights to thoes companies would probably cost more than the Ferrari exclusive cost EA, they get alot more money from licencing their product than comanies like Ferrari, think how much they would lose by limiting how many games they would appear in and as a result limiting the number of comanies paying them o allow them to appear in the game. Also it's not like you can just say to a company, "I want an exclusive licence for your products" theres **** loads of negotiations to do and the chances are, unless it's a smaller or more exclusive company that they will turn round nd say no at the end of it all.
 
Which I doubt PD would risk. If they try getting that License, they may not have enough money to continue the series, possibly?
 
After playing any of the GT games for more than an hour, do you really miss those "missing" manufacturers?

The answer's no; whining about Ferrari's absence is for people who suck at the game.

Now if they added Hindustan, that would be another matter.
 
new MR-S ... shares new Celica's 140hp GT engine(1zz)..

new Celica's 180hp GT-S(2zz) engine is the one thats in the new Lotus Elise.


There are couple MR-S that have 2zz transplant and heard it kicks ass. Sorta like building ur own Lotus Elise. but i dont' think it'll be as light.

I think PD should do what TX racer3 did by making cars not by names and altering the appearance and making them PD cars.... (Ferrari,Porshes,Lambos)
Which GT3 had RUF's which are tuned porshes sorta like ESX wrx's

RUF's are not porsche once again! They are on there own. You cannot say a RUF is a Porsches, the RUF is a totally different company.
