If reports are correct, Alfa's 159 is set to join the new M3, Audi RS4 and incoming Merc C63 AMG with a Ferrari V8 engine! I presume it will be the same Alfa badged version that will also soon be seen in the 8C Competitzione which is also used in recent Maseratis.

Do you think Alfa is up for the fight?

Maybe he means they'll all be accidentally rear-ended by over enthusiastic males at some point or another...

The Alfa still looks great, but the build quality needs serious though if people are going to spend more than 30k.

My comment seems out of place amongst all the sex jokes though.

Very true. Cadillac kinda learned that with the CTS-V (depends on who you ask), so one would hope the same for the Alfa.

Still, AWD, a Ferrari/Maserati-sourced V8, combined with the shockingly good looks of the Alfa brand should make for an interesting ride. And given they will be in America in a very short period of time, cars like this are what will make a difference.

Too bad it'll cost 100K+, because of the Ferrari V8.

Other wise, it looks good, and should perform near the top of its class.

I've read that the Audi RS4 is quick, but is boring to drive and understeers like a snowplow. This will probably do the same unless they completely redesign the frame for rear-wheels drive.

Weve already seen Lancias with Ferrari engines. The engine definately wont make the car.

Im not too excited, and if I was getting a 159, it would be with a diesel.

Agreed. There's no point in having an engine THAT powerful if you're going to put it sideways in the front of the car.
