It is good, no doubt I've used it myself quite a bit.

I'm tired of seeing it on pole, on the podium, covering half or better of most GT3 lobbies.

I've been running the Merc and it's fantastically balanced just not quite as quick as the 488.

Is there any way to open up the GT3 class so all can choose whatever they want except the Ferrari?

Edit to update with video.

There was a BoP change last patch and there will be a another small one in the next patch. Currently the Audi, Lamborghini, M6, AMG, Porsche, and Renault can compete with the Ferrari. Different cars can show their respective strengths on different tracks.

You see the Ferrari a lot because it’s an understeering pig with a decent default setup that’s easy to drive.

In your video all I see is 2 people in Ferrari’s that don’t have a clue how to race, probably TT drivers. :sly:

The McLaren was ruined in patch 3.0. I had loads of setups for this car but the nerf and the tyre model changes completely ruined it (as in made it uncompetitive and tricky to drive = not fun). It's not like it was faster than all the other GT3 cars. Because I'd have to start again getting to know another GT3 car, I simply don't bother with GT3 races any more, unless forced.

In the video those two 488s ran down the M6 and me in the AMG on the back straight @ Bathhurst.

The Ferrari is faster through the corners and as the video shows faster than my AMG in the drag race across the finish line.

Tuning was disabled and we can deduct from the short clip that they're not very good at driving which could be why the 488 was chose as you pointed out very easy to handle.

At Monza I can run a fairly consistent 1:48.5/1:49 in the 488, with the AMG/M6 I cannot break 1:50.

I just really believe the 488 is the Megane of PC2.
If you can't beat em, join em you say?

Are those times at Monza with default setups as well? Comparing cars with default setups is not at all representative of the cars performance. If the Ferrari for example has a really good default setup and the AMG has a bad one then clearly the Ferrari will be faster with default setups. This doesn’t mean the Ferrari’s maximum potential is higher than the AMG. The AMG will have more to gain from a good setup than the Ferrari which will narrow the gap if not reverse it.

Italians make great cars! The Ferrari isn't the best GT3 Car. Most cars are right up there with the 488. Don't know why people complain about the Ferrari.

I decided to try to tune out that understeer this past week and it can be done to a certain degree, but finding it hard to dial out the mid-corner understeer still. Not enough room to tweak the rolls bars but a fun car to drive. There are certain corners on certain tracks that it really doesn't like at all though.

I still prefer the Renault.

Ferrari continues to be OP. Faster through corners and on straights.

Do something SMS. Everybody on the Ferrari ain't fun at all you know.

That’s simply not true. There are 6 or 7 cars that can compete with each other now. What lap time evidence do you have to support the Ferrari needs another nerf?

I use the Ferrari a lot. Not the best overall GT3 car. It's not the fastest on straights. One thing the Ferrari lacks is on the straights. Mercedes is probably the fastest GT3 car on straights.

Who might get to think that 99% of GT3 players on a lobby choose the Ferrari because by any means is it the best all around car, specially on cornering.

I didn't do a thorough check but the Ferrari does seem to be the fastest car at a number of tracks on the pc leaderboards. Spa, it's a second or two clear of the 4 or 5 other GT3's I checked. On the slower and more technical Brands Hatch it's only 0.2-0.3 of a couple of cars but 0.7s+ clear of the other 3 cars I checked. Same at Monza from 0.3-1+ seconds clear. Not a huge gap but enough of a gap that given equal drivers the Ferrari will have an advantage against any other car.

It should be noted that these leaderboards are from day 1 so if the Ferrari is or has been nerfed it won't show up but if some cars are improved that will show up with better times.

It had a massive nerf and the leaderboards haven’t been reset. There are rumors they will be reset in patch 4 as there is another small BoP change inbound.

I disagree. I'd say it was true a patch or two ago but not for some time. I used to be able to lap every track consistently faster in the 488 but I am now within an acceptable margin of error with the Ferrari, Porsche, Renault and Acura. I have not driven the others too much.

No, I was wondering how competitive the 488 GTE is in the GTE class compared to its GT3 counterpart in its respective class.

I think the Ferrari is very strong in GTE, but I don't think any of the cars there are weak. The overall balance of performance is so much better in that class.
