I would have thought Ford Escort's would have shifted more people the world over :)

Doubt they'll be in GT4, still the Panda made it

The Cavalier is a brand-engineered piece of crap that's an [awful] alternative to somebody shopping in a market where they have a multitude of choices.

The Panda, on the other hand, is thought by some to have been Italy's modern Beetle. Pandas have certainly been raced before; they even enjoy a cult following, hard as it may be to believe. People do modify these cars... and although they might not be as flashy as their Ferrari brethren, they possess the same amount of character.

Then again, that only rings true if you're an enthusiast that "gets it".

The panda is NOT an important car, the fact remains that if the panda wasn't made, another crappy little car like it would exist anyway. I'd MUCH rather have a cavalier then a panda, ANYDAY, faster, comfier, and FAR better built (and I don't even like cavaliers). Panda = rust box in real life, but it will be cool to have on GT4 :)

I suspect that the Americans are talking about the Chevrolet Cavalier & your talking about the Vauxhall Cavalier/Opel Vectra? code_kev ;) Still in this context it probably doesn't matter, I just felt obliged to point that out :p

Well I'm too lazy to read about Pandas, so I'll go on what I think... The Panda is to Italy, what the Mini is to the UK and what the Citroen 2CV meant to France, etc... Although I would have thought the Fiat 500 would be more important to Italy than the Panda :)

On your last point, for italy, the nuova 500 got Itallians on the roads for silly money in the '60s and '70s, while, for the past 20 years, the Panda has taken the role. They both got lower-income Itallians on the road.

Take a look at the panda's little brother the new 500.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Oh well, it's better than a Ferrari anyway.

That was my exact reaction. Then I saw the "hahaha" and couldn't help but agree.

Don't under-estimate the older cars though.

Not necessarily that one...

I know that's a first-generation Celica in the back, and I'm pretty sure that's a '70s Honda in blue, but what's that red car on the left?

Looks like maybe a Mazda Cosmo, or a Fiat. As if they were interchangeable.

im pretty sure that blue car is a early lancer

First one was a 76 lancer GSR, In the pic from the game if you look at the license plate it says lancer GSR. this pic is of a 77 celica.

One more lancer :(

It is not that I do not like lancers, it's just that there are some other cars on earth that may be included rather another version of lancer...

Ok, it's clear it's an old car and I agree it may be interresting to drive... but since GT1 .. lancer lancer Impreza and lancer...

Rather see real historical legends than this one... I'm sure I will never use that car...

but ... wait and see... ( and pray !!)

I've actually driven a lancer like that one. A friend had one he used as a track car. Mind you his car wasn't really road worthy.

It was a really fun drive. Nice and compact with a bit of poke to really enjoy. Would look forward to driving on in GT4 to see what it's like compared to real life.

Really apart from the name it has no real connection with the current lancer.

On my monitor at work, it's a little fuzzy. I thought it said G5R.

I like the old cars. I'd love to see something like GTClassic, with nothing but cars built between 1946 and 1980. The race courses would all be old famous race courses like the old 8 mile Spa-Francorchamp circuit, the original Sebring course, the Watkins Glen street course before the track was built, Daytona on the beach, the high banks of Avus, Nurburgring, etc. That would be incredible. I could easily put together a list of 500 cars and 50 tracks that would be perfect.

a 100% with you !!!

( just want to add Targa Florio and Mille Miglia events !!!!)

Currious Question : Does anyone knows if PD consults this forum ???

yeah but i like to compare old with new, so i would like cars that range from vintage to new

They've forgot one thing on that car. The rust.
