Hi all

I'm going to be getting an xbox soon to play Forza and I have a couple of questions about it if anyone wouldn't mind answering if possible.

1. What are the online numbers and how easy is it to get into a game?

I mean how many are playing on a regular basis. I ask this because I picked up FM3 with an xbox in dec 2009 but only played singleplayer till feb 2010 and it was hard to get a game going. (my first xbox was not online when i had FM2)

To be fair it might have been my settings or it might have been the game itself as it was taking along time to join on quick match or whatever it was called. But when I would look at the classes, I think the highest I seen was 2-3 hundred online in feb. More than enough to race I admit but coupled with the fact that it took forever to get into a game, it was mainly a frustrating experience for me.

So, when I pick up a new machine and game, probably play single for a few weeks like I did in GT5 and FM3, we are probably talking feb 2012 before I unleash my speed upon the public (yes, it's ok to feel scared).

2. I like the shuffle races in GT5 Is there an equivalent in FM4?

Where you don't get to pick your car or similar.

3. I had more questions but typing that first one has made me forget everything. Erm....

Anyone know of any good deals on FM4 +360 combo? (UK)

It takes me forever to get into a race and when I do about 25% of the time the room just started and I don't want to wait 10mins to race or when the track is loading it freezes or I get booted for taking too long. That unfortunately can happen about 50% of each race I start.

Maybe it cause I use wireless? But my computer is wireless and only 5 ft away and I don't have any problems with the internet. I use a 20meg service so I can download over 1MB a second.

I don't know of shuffle racing but there is one make, no tuning racing. And I think the car is random.

Online is a lot of fun but I would say to be honest is that there are far worse drivers and rude ones on Forma then when I played GT5. About in every room I get into, there is someone who intentionally crashes people. It's a shame.

And rivals mode, it is probably the greatest online feature in the game. If you don't know what it is, search for the thread about it here or Google it. Awesome stuff.

Your NAT rating probably affects race availability. I've never gotten that damned thing beyond "Moderate," and I'm not exactly clueless with network settings. With my most frequent setup (internet connection sharing through my desktop/laptop), I doubt "Open" is even possible. As a result, my online experiences are pretty similar to BryCivicSi's description.

FM4 multiplayer has Cycled Production, which forces stock tuning with no upgrades and everyone drives the same car. You'll enjoy it for a while, until the preset car/track combos become hopelessly repetitive and predictable (it's literally "cycled," not random).

Thanks for the replies guys.

Regarding the connection, I was getting disconnected 4 out of 5 servers in GT5, had to turn on upnp, have not been kicked since. Hopefully FM4 will be the same. Also when I did this my NAT went from 2 to open in GT5

Cycled production will do, not exactly shuffle but i'll try it, see how it fairs.

Rivals looks good on youtube, I'm more a wheel to wheel racer but it looks interesting, kind of like a track day.

Once again thanks.
