but I dont think this is cutting it, as I still get things like Hitbox setting cookies, any help will be arpeciated.

The only extra thing you can really do within FF itself is to use the "Exceptions" button, which allows you to block cookies on a per-site basis - a bit tedious as you have to add them manually, but it's an option.

As you're on Windows, you might also want to take a look at SpywareBlaster - it automatically adds a load of rules into Firefox and/or IE that block known dodgy sites from using stuff like cookies, you'll find that it will automatically add a load of blocks into the Exceptions list. It's not a perfect solution, but it does what it does very well and it's free 👍

Thanks, what it was sites like hotmail, love to shove loads of advertising cookies on my system, but now all I do is log in to hotmail or any other site and the check the cookies its stuffed on my system, the I just delete them, so nexed time they are not allowed on my system, not perfect but ok. thanks for the tips tho. 👍

Well guys, I'm back with a similar problem, i've just formatted and updated to FF 2.0.0.1, but in this build the cookie system has changed and when I delete them they are no longer added to my blocked list and they just return to plague me. Now what I'm having to do is manually type them in and block them this way.

I did have a cookie blocker that worked like no-script and blocked all incoming cookies and then you can just select the ones you want to block from sites and what you want sites to have, but this totally screwed the logins on my dads forum so that was binned in favour of the tried and tested method, any other thing i can do or even a big list of cookies to block that can be copied and pasted into FF?
