Is there a point to this other than making your FF look more like a race car (lol)?

I mean, do your rear wheels need more downforce, or is it just to keep your ass end from getting a little loose? I was thinking about putting one on this Spoon Integra (which is a great little farmer for Cape Ring) but I don't see the point of it. And, I don't see why it would add PP if it doesn't actually help anything.

It helps the car stay planted, eliminates rear wheel hop, a problem with high pp ff's.

Is that the only way to fix it?

I've been trying to balance mine, but I'm usually only using low PP cars, farming Cape Ring.

You shouldn't really need a spoiler on a low pp FF car, it will only increase understeer.

I concur with this; I'm the guy who drives the "Salsa Red" Hyundai Accent in SCCA Solo2 competition. I should know a thing, or two, about FF cars.

The fact is, I never lose rear grip, ever.

I've lost rear grip, but it's from doing some ridiculously silly ****, like sliding from grass to tarmac with my wheels locked up...

But, thank you for your advice, I will never put a spoiler on my teggy. Even if it looks more authentic, lololol

Well really it depends a ton on how the car is tuned.

If you've got it set up to be as close to neutral as possible at low speeds, you're going to get some pretty amazing high-speed oversteer. Add a wing, it goes away without reducing front grip, and maintaining the preferable low-speed handling characteristics.

Sometimes though, high amounts of downforce can push the rear down and in turn, cause the front to lift easier. This is from my experience on that long swooping corner on Nurburgring, just before the hairpin on the western most part of the map. It's kind of like front downforce makes you faster in high speed turns, and rear downforce stops you spinning when you take those corners.

Hmm, I'll give it a try. I don't know if I'll add the spoiler or just try to achieve similar balance with suspension.

Basically, I'm just trying to build the ultimate farming machine and at the low speeds I'm moving, I don't think it'll provide the time boost that HP provides. There's really only one corner where these cars get squirrely. at Cape Ring Periph, after the loop, you take a high speed right and you sort of zig left and zag right at quite a steep angle, plus the elevation is weird. I don't know, it's tricky for me, I have to go slow is all.

Spoilers won't help at that speed. Just try braking a bit earlier, then just free wheeling into the right hander at around 60/70mph.

For sure. I know I can make it around 60 or so if I do it right, but I usually just end up dropping to 50. I think just tuning the suspension better will achieve the results I want. I'm already making 1.3m, but there's always more money to be made. I just wish I could get 2mil like the one dude did.

PDA usage here? The wings add PP, you might want to avoid the wing, just because it bumps your PP up.

I don't know what PDA is.

But yea, I'm not gonna use it, probably ever on an FF unless I just can't find another way to solve its problems. I really don't use em that often if I'm tuning for PP.

It's either:

  • Public display of affection (currently irrelevant)
  • Personal Data/schedule Agenda (again, currently irrelevant)
  • Performance Difference Adjustment (extra money for winning seasonals with a low-PP car)

The question isn't whether or not a wing can reduce an FF's lap times, but if it's as beneficial as power or weight in the PP system.
I'd say 9.5 times out of 10 no wing will be fastest for any FF at any given PP level.

You can make the car drive more authentic and life-like with a wing, and it's more enjoyable, but for flat out speed at a PP level FF's rarely benefit from downforce instead of extra power or reduced weight.

Oh, yea, definitely. I'm making 1.3m, somewhere below 360pp, iirc.
