Played the hell outta GT5 since release, but I have been working more and my GT5 time is later in the evening. I was excited for the DLC but to be honest, I havent done much racing simply because I cant keep my eyes open.
Its the loading screens, I literally pass out.

What they should do is slideshow photos of cars, or photos of the track or whatever, even have the ticker along the bottom with text about a random car, or history of the track. You figure with the piles of information they wrote for each car, it wouldnt be a bad way to showcase it during loading...and it may give me a reason to keep my eyes open.
Or slideshow random museum cards.

From what i remember, it loads really fast now but takes time to load all the cars... And you can see bits of the track while it's loading...

Try Forza 3/Forza 4 for loading times...

I could probably design and make a whole Atari game during the loading times. :/

I don't think the load times are long enough to convey any useful information through text etc. (I might read slow, could be different for other people). Maybe little tidbits of trivial facts but not full paragraphs or anything like that.

I get annoyed by the constant changing of music (I really like GT5's Music) in the game when switching from different screens so I would imagine it would probably be just as annoying to be reading something and have it disappear before I'm finished reading it. Then again, there's obviously ways around that. Good idea regardless.

In season online races have the host type in points standings or other league news so all the drivers about to start a race (during the countdown) can get pumped up before it goes 3, 2, 1 Start.

You are just too tired to play, don`t blame it on the loading screens.

This could be a good idea though. But it would be wise to only make this happen if the loading times are not increased.

Large portions of alcohol do that to me too when playing GT5.

But really, i mean the black loading screens are less than 10 seconds for me now... Try playing when youre awake?

Come on you guys, give the guy a break, the loading screens are boring as hell, his idea is brilliant.

You're right, it is a great idea, I've often wondered why more games don't do it.
I believe this article will explain the reason why there is nothing in the loading screens.

Namco owns a patent on it. PD would probably have to pay to do it.

Oh. Bastards.
"[The US patent office's] guidelines for patent examiners require that the invention produce a concrete, useful, and tangible result, and gameplay patents are being allowed," Adams wrote. "I assert that the very definition of a game precludes its gameplay from constituting a concrete, useful, and tangible result."

So, uh, why is this even a problem? Clearly someone with a brain needs to get involved.
