PTRA presents - FGTC SEASON 4

GT6 is here! So of course it must be time to get some old racing friends together for our fantastic racing championship. If you are a new driver interested in joining a group of skillful and fair racers for some wheel to wheel action, post your interest below. There will be room for 14 drivers and 5 reserves initially.
The FGTC is closely based on the F1 Season with qualifying, main race and very strict rules on fair play, members also hold practice sessions along with fun racing events in every other type of car. If you are new and have any questions please post, dont be shy.
New members will be put in the interested column, current members will go straight on the roster. A week before the races start the final roster will be announced after senior members of the PTRA have discussed applications. Teams will be announced as they form.

Please bear with me while I put this page together.

Rules and penalties (read GTP online racing rules for a general idea)

2. Read and follow GTP racing rules.
3. 2 tyre compounds must be used a dry race (failure will result in disqualification)
4. All efforts must be made to avoid contact
5. Blocking is illegal in the FGTC.
6. The lead driver has the right to choose his line into a corner
7. The lead driver has the right to choose his braking zone but not to brakecheck
8. The lead driver must keep a steady bearing while being overtaken by a faster car
9. Chasing drivers may attempt to outbrake lead cars but must avoid contact
10. If you cause someone to leave the track you can reduce possible penalties by waiting for them to rejoin in front of you.
11. Lapped cars may not attempt re-overtake +1 lap cars until the lap after the current lap is over, all lapped cars must yield as soon as possible in a safe way. Pull off the racing line and apply the brakes momentarily.
12. After a pit stop you must stay within the white pit lines if there is traffic near you and re join the race in a safe manner
13. After an off you must not re-join the track until it is clear and safe to do so
14. Bump drafting is illegal in the FGTC
15. During the race all mic's must be off and no messages allowed in any circumstances.
16. If you miss qualifying you can still start from the back with host's permission.
17. Do not give up, if you leave the race for any reason except disconnection you will be penalised. (it is easy to tell who has been disconnected).
18. You can be penalised for publicly disputing penalties/incidents this includes posting videos of the event (only the perpetrator can instigate a public discussion or ask for video evidence and this will be considered an appeal), they are to be dicussed in private with the race manager. If you dispute a penalty and it is upheld a further penalty WILL be issued so think carefully and check the replay before you appeal. Also you have 24 hours after the stewards report is published to lodge your appeal, if you appeal outside this timeframe it will not be considered.

Hi Ellis, welcome back!
Ill pop you on the roster, it will be a pleasure to do battle with you once more!

Huzzah!
Welcome back my old nemesis (and DTM champ).
Look forward to seeing you on track (normally the back of your car, 4 metres in front of me, at 200MPH)

mustardaddict will get back in on this, I ended on kind of a bad note last time. I want to get back in and have some good races here.

Added to the OP gentlemen, what was your sin Mustard?

Welcome to my old team mates of course :D

Oh I'd like to have some good races be my last, I feel my last race here was a bit stationary. We'll see what happens but I think one of Senna's old cars will be coming to GT6, maybe one with active suspension haha.

So lets talk tracks, assuming you all have access to the tracklist, lets hear opinions on what HAS to be included and what definitely shouldnt,
I am most keen on Apricot Hill, if its unchanged then it was a monster track for formula cars :)

Oops, should have edited my last post, im out of practice here.....MODS HAVE MERCY!

No
Matterhorn is a definite no no, racing around there with 15 others in 950bhp Formula 1 cars would be suicide  Good fun in a mixed racing lobby perhaps but not in a championship.
The same goes for Bathurst.

Yes
Silverstone. Obviously.
Brands Hatch, potentially. The first few corners could be a bit chaotic though.
Apricot hill is a must.
Willow Springs is incredible, that has to be in.

And then there's all the regular tracks from GT5 that we used 👍

Ahhh Bathurst is a brilliant track but could turn into a demoliton derby with 14 FGT's on the track!

Great info Pagey, I will include the 4 that you mentioned in addition to the regulars. We can then have a look at losing a couple if need be. I have most of the main thread graphics ready to go. Can you update me on the settings options as per the OP. My game never arrived today :(

Etid- I really fancied Bathurst but was concerned about track width.

Yeah sure, I will see what I can do tonight.

My game never arrived today :(

Boooo 👎

I dont think it should automatically be dropped as the Nordschleife has worked out fine here in the past. The long straight offers a good passing opportunity at Bathurst. It just seems like an epic track to leave off.

We could work up a system of following a certain driver and counting how many overtakes they make during a race, and comparing tracks & number of passes made.

Pagey- Cheers
Rich- We will test on it
Lozzy- Ill post the settings results once testing is complete

Nominated testers-
Myself
Sandman
Pagey

of the ones I remember I really liked Laguna Seca and Autumn ring...I don't know much about the technicalities...maybe someone can help? if these choices aren't ideal?...:D

EvoChick -

We always use Laguna Seca but I'm not too sure about Autumn Ring, I can't remember if we did that in previous seasons.

I think it may be as it was too hard on the tyres or no place to overtake but thats all I can think of.
