Racers,

I must apologize in advance. Results won't be made available immediately tonight, as I have an unrelated engagement. However, I do expect you to respect the deadline for race times and to submit yours before 7:59PM CDT. I will be able to varify they were on time in the Private message so I expect to be getting a lot of PM's in the next three-and-change hours.

time submitted although a little late good night all :) --- Randy

Drivers,

I've had a couple drivers struggle with the time submission process. Apparently we all need something a little simpler, a little easier. I think that round one results should be postponed so I can find events where our cars would be legal to run, and where tracks and lengths are similar.

m.piedgros

The problem is when you race the ten laps, it does not keep track of your total time.
So that is the problem, I guess all that he needs to do is find races that are
about the same lenght so we can get total times.

How would you guys like to run an Arcade Mode Touring Car Championship? That would simplify everything, we could run the tracks and distances we want without to much difficulty, we could make changes to the weight and power of cars to equalize performance easily etc. Not to mention there is quite a good grid of touring cars we could run. Thoughts?

hmmm not a bad idea :) hmmmm... could we adjust the settings in the family cup and set the laps.. and the settings for the cars we race.... then set it to the cars we race against.. hmmm what about that sir? It would keep it interesting at least :) nothing too weird ;) --- Randy

Get a pen and paper and add your lap times together, problem solved.

Can you set the number of laps in a family cup race? I thought you could only do two laps... I could be mistaken however.

If we were to run the Arcade Mode Touring Car Championship (AMTCC doesn't look like a half-bad name!) here is a list of cars we'd run. Like my field for GT3 which I really, really want to keep running, these cars have been tested across many different circuits and are very close to one-another in performance. Rules for the AMTCC would be slightly different than FIA GT3 but that is not really an issue now.

Touring Cars we'd run: (Give me suggestions for cars to add/remove.)

Honda Integra Type R Touring Car '02
Mazda 6 Touring Car '02
Ford Escort Rally Car '98
Ford Focus Rally Car '99
Toyota Celica GT-FOUR Rally Car (ST 205) '95
Subaru Imprezza Rally Car '99
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car '99
BMW 320i Touring Car '03
Peugot 206 Rally Car '99
Citroen Xsara Rally Car '99

I have a pretty good plan for how this series would run so post your thoughts and feelings here.

2 races, 10 laps each, 40+ minutes total just watching replays? sorry, better things to do w/ my time.

+ that's EACH TIME you run the race. No thank you. TCC is a much better idea, but very similar to JGTC. I'd be definately willing to race in TCC, and the 2-race is interesting.

Cool idea :) --- Randy

If someone can find a way to add the time together without messing them up,
then it would be no problem.

Youd have to watch your replays anyway because thats how the time submission works, you submit every laptime of each race, and if you fastforward your replays it will only take around 10 minutes to get all your times, not 40, and if you have any adding skills at all it will only take about 10 minutes to add your times together.

Arcade Mode Touring Car Championship....post your thoughts and feelings here.
I'm failling to see what the problem is with the current setup, I signed up to race the FIA GT3 not the TTC, so if this change is made I will be dropping out of the series.

I say we keep it the way it is. I don't see the problem. Race, ff through replay, add up times, as well as any incidents. I like the field of cars we have now, i mean that's why i signed up. Also, I like having to set up the cars for each track, which I really have never done before. It did catch me off guard that it would be about around 40-50 minutes spent on the races, and a bit more to review lap times and the spots where I had incidents , in just one week (I procrastinated). But I will be prepared come next race. Anyways, no matter what the decision is, I'm still in 👍

The FIA GT3 Championship will live on. To add your times together use base six. It's pretty easy. If you can't submit your total times than this is probably not the series for you. If you were looking for something easy and brainless this isn't the series for you. As for ICallShotgun's comments, east is spot on. No matter what you have to view replays. What would you like to see changed? Maybe OLR isn't for you. I think I'll give you all untill Friday to give me your round on (race one and two) times. You must submit what is asked of you.

m.piedgros

If I must elaborate, that means, IF YOU SUBMITED RACE TIMES THAT DIDN'T INCLUDE TOTAL TIMES YOU WILL NOT BE CLASSIFIED AS A RACE FINNISHER. I will post that you were disqualified. SO! To avoid that situation, and get valuable points, check out your race times and ADD THEM UP!

m.piedgros

I added my times already and submitted them. It's a lot harder then I thought...I don't think I got the times exactly right but they're close. >_>

*Concerned Look on Face.* Hmm, I'll make sure you got 'em right. I would like to reiterate, adding the times up with conventional math will not give you an accurate score. It is recommended one uses base six.

m.piedgros

If you have good math, than all you have to do is add the times together
the way the game does. It took about 30min's for me for both race's.

Ahh, sorry for not being able to show. I'm back in action now, unfortunately somehow my memory card data disappeared...grr..

Hey guys,

You know what. I'm gonna give y'all an extention on the time to TOMMOROW NIGHT at the usual time, 7:59 PM CDT.

m.piedgros

Seven or so. I'll get to that as soon as possible. I apologize for my tardiness and I apreciate the racers who stuck around.

FIA GT3 Championship -- Round 1 "Super Cars at Suzuka"

The FIA GT3 Championship cars ran round one of their inaugural series at Suzuka Circuit, Japan. A good number of entrants encouraged fans, racers and series management alike. Unfortunately, the racers didn't manage to get out to the track. Problems with some teams forced them to sit out on the races, and in one case, pull out all together. The contingent of American fams were disapointed to see what was considered the flag-ship team out of action. American Iron Racing were forced to drop out of the championship due to lack of sponsorship. Despite the below anticipated field, these pros managed to put on a great show. Here are your results for race one.

Position - Driver Name - Car - Number - Time - Fast Lap
1. - east - Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 - 23 - 19'38.588 - 1'55.521
2. - AngelCreator - Ferrari F430 GT3 - 00 - 19'39.229 - 1'56.770
3. - m.piedgros - Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R - 19'42.222 - 1'54.527
4. - InsaneRacer - Ferrari F430 GT3 - 20'02.865 - 1'56.127
5. - SK_HI - Porsche 997 GT3 Cup - 20'45.669 - 1'57.259
6. - Randy Woods Morgan - Aston Martin DBRS9 - 21'21.566 - 2'03.121

So, six starters, six finnishers. Not the most impressive field, but the cars seem to be coming into their own. Following race one, MPR announced a couple of changes can be expected. One, has been confirmed.

RULES AND REGULATIONS CHANGE:

For qualifying rounds, starting Round 2, the cars will run a Racing Super Soft Tire as usual. However, for race one racers will use Racing Soft tires and for race two racers will use Racing Hard Tires. The second change, yet to be confirmed would appear to make changes to the drive trains of all vehicles and some competitors will get performance adjustments. Inside sources have leaked some information and these changes are expected to improve some cars, not penalize the fast drivers.

Racers,

I will post results for race two when I get a couple things confirmed. As for round 2, I will post the thread momentarilly. Following that, you can expect a points list within the next 36 hours.

FIA GT3 Championship -- Round 1 "Super Cars at Suzuka" Race Two Results.

Position - Driver Name - Car - Number - Time - Fast Lap
1. - SK_HI - Porsche 997 GT3 Cup - 19'17.711 - 1'55.266
2. - east - Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 - 23 - 19'18.459 - 1'54.420
3. - m.piedgros - Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R - 19'19.383 - 1'53.909
4. - AngelCreator - Ferrari F430 GT3 - 00 - 19'36.219 - 1'55.852
5. - InsaneRacer - Ferrari F430 GT3 - 20'04.814 - 1'55.619
6. - Randy Woods Morgan - Aston Martin DBRS9 - 21'16.010 - 2'04.196

Everything got cleared up nicely, which is a credit to MPR and its members. SK_HI jumps up and grabs the win on a day that looked good for the Ferrari's to clean up. Unfortunately, race two provides them with lack-lustre 4th and 5th place finnishes.

Post race comments anyone?

Damn it, I was less than a second away from doing the Grand Slam lol, oh well, well done on the win SK_HI, I think its great that in both races the winner was less than one second ahead of the nearest competitor, makes for a real competitive series.
