The two teams I'm cheering for at the World Cup are the U.S. (duH!) and Australia. I really like that team. They play hardcore soccer.

FIA GT3 Championship News:

To those of you interested in running. There are plenty of cars that are sitting here waiting for a driver. I want as many guys as possible. This season will be fun, exciting, challenging, and most of all competitive. So if you are tired of series that fail, or if you're new to OLR and are tired of dominating the AI in GT4, sign-up to race in FIA GT3.

All you technical nuts, I have a challenge for you. If you know of a car that you'd like to see running in this series, hopefully with you behind the wheel, build the car and see if you can get it within our qualifying average of around 1'55.xxx at Suzuka circuit. PM m.piedgros with the details; mods, horsepower, weight, and lap time. With approval, you're in!

Think you're too late? You're not! Sign-ups are open all season, and in the off season. I plan on running this series for a number of consecutive seasons. You can still get in on this season and run for one of our many championships. They include, Driver, Team, Privateer, Manufacturer, and Country. All of our teams, manufacturers and countries need help in winning the title, so come on in and help out!

The FIA GT3 Championship of Nations has been started, the information is provided to you through a tiny edit in the original post. If we can muster up some entries from a few more countries the U.S. will face some competition.

The thread has been updated once more. Refer to this thread for any questions regarding generic series questions. Also, if you've missed a round or have had some time off, be sure to check this thread for rules changes.

Manufacturers to become available in GT3:

The biggest of the big news involving GT3 is the possible inclusion of at least two new manufacturers. As we discovered at the begining of the year, Lotus were unable to get an entry in the series as they did not pass MPR's homologation and performance standards. However, a light at the end of the tunnel may soon be seen by sports car fans. Opel have announced they are working on a Speedster Turbo that may be able to meet the rigerous MPR standards. Also, with the BMW M Coupe being a popular GT competitor in National Championships world wide, fitting into GT3 might be very possible for the German mark. Reports state that MPR are considering allowing the now outdated model a shot in the series to run a limited schedule. Both, of course, if teams and drivers can be found. GT3 is running short on teams and drivers to drive some of the cars already homologated. Manufacturers like Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ascari, whom have already proven themselves worthy in the European series, don't have teams or drivers in the GTP series. MPR have released this statement.

"Our main goal is to get as many drivers competing in as many cars as possible. We don't care what they drive, so long as they compete. Frankly, we're happy with the grid, despite its Ferrari and Porsche heaviness. We believe that the best way to attract drivers is to allow them the option of driving the car of their choice. Drivers should be aware of MPR's commitment to competitiveness and that should not be an issue. We will keep expanding the list of available cars for teams to choose from. That is what GT3 is about."
 
SCHEDULE CHANGE:

A round will be added to be run later in the series. El Capitan has been looked over and MPR have determined this western U.S. circuit is suitable for GT3 competition.

BIG ANOUNCEMENT LOOMING:

Possible change in series for Season 2 will be anounced when finalized by MPR. Rumors seem to indicate this will allow a lot more freedom for the drivers to run cars they enjoy.
 
I think next season may end up with some collaboration with the next Super Taikyu season. If you are interested, that is.

I believe the only difference between the ST1 car and the GT3 car of Nine-Ten racing is the 2 way LSD. A similarly prepared Z was this car's rival in my series last season.
