A Denmark livery X2014 is spotted in a GT Stories video featuring @Aderrrm.

Also I just watched that video and..... What's this screen?

Mind giving some light to this, @Aderrrm?

Ferrari F50? :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: my god
So we had the Tokyo Expressway Central and East, maybe this South loop looks like more the original tokyo R246, would be nice, more technical

DAY ZERO OVERALL QUALIFIER RESULTS

Remember how people thought the Americas' Region was the least competitive right?

It took a long time to dispel that notion, but I think our region is making good progress . Here's splash number 1:

Those results set the grid order for all Nations' Cup races! Extremely important result.

Have a good race.

Thanks,

I wasn't going against anything you were saying btw, just pointing out theres massive varience because of slipstream (Hence Lightning 10th)

Definitely agree with what you said, guys like IOF and Lloyds are top tier, should've elaborated on this in my first post but Im lazy

Wish we could see qualifying footage. I wonder how many worked together. Maybe that's what caused some favorites to drop down.

There are plenty more top tier. We'll see how the races play out. A lot of the drivers from America have some real grit that I think will surprise everyone once the real racing begins. You'll see them employing some interesting strategies. Overall there's a sense of them wanting to prove our region is better than it's been perceived and that's a real element here.

This first part was so vital. The car selection now is really going to impact these semi final races.

What circuit did they use for this qualifying? Is this the starting grid for the race tomorrow?

This was a qualifier to decide the picking order for cars in the semi-final races tomorrow. It was Circuit De La Sarthe in a .

Check the OP guys! I'll keep it updated with info!

Update: this also sets the grid order for all Nations' Cup races!

How is the grid for the Semi Finals, and the first Finals race decided?

Actually, I missed some info. The qualifying results I posted above ALSO. determines the grid order for day 1 and 3. Meaning semi-final and Final races.

This qualifier was extremely important.

The cars on Sunday are randomly drawn. This qualifying will set the N500 races grid though

Semi-Final and Repechage cars were selected in the order of qualifying, so yeah this qualifier was HUGE overall

With the qualifier setting up the grid for Day 1 and Day 3 and their car selection (free choice for Day 1 and random lottery for Day 3), this means that @Igor Fraga and gilles_honda_v12 gets to pick their cars first and be the first ones to do the lottery. Meanwhile, road car specialists @Z28 and Adam_2167 gets their last pick and be the last ones to do the lottery (if they even make it to Day 3 in the first place.)

As I've got free WiFi and the phones charging thought I'd post to explain things a little more.

Essentially each driver got 2 laps so if you got a penalty, span or made a mistake it was game over.

My PoV was my first flyer was different to my 2nd by a large margin which suggests the weight increase on the cars must include fuel? Not 100% but that's just a theory. Anyway 1st lap was a banker seemed about average for the bankers. Anyway my 2nd flyer I kept braking slightly to short but was about 5 tenths up on my time approaching arnage. Leaving arnage, rear broke traction I caught it but had lost all 5 tenths plus 1 additional. Porsche curves is flat so it was a significant loss of time in the last sector. Even so the last part I dropped a gear nearly lost the car then went gungho in the chicane and beat my last time by 0.0xx. Frustrating because I believe without that I would be in top 10. 2 chances at a qualifying which is highly impactful was gutting but it's racing. I don't believe slipstream was used alot, those using it suffered immensely with understeer from dirty air.

Igor was superb, in a league of his own. I honestly don't believe anyone should be questioning regions speeds in the final, it's a world final at this point it's going to be best of the best. It is good to see Americas competitive and really doing their region proud, I've always known top level Americas is right there and this proves it.

In terms of my chances to qualify for Sunday it will be difficult it really will but I'll give it my best shot and what will be will be.

Enjoy the show guys, it'll be a good one !

So, Manufacturer has had a rule change

x2 Fuel Consumption (just under 4 laps)
3 litre refuel speed
Virtual Safety Car ENABLED and Zero Ghosting (oh god)
Slipstream Weak

That Fuel change is HUGE for us, Welcome back the fuelsaving god everyone, the Corvette

And it is. Saying a region is less competitive doesn't mean the aliens from that region are less competitive.

Most people say that based on simple numbers and lap times. If you check any given top10 from dailies or FIA races you see the Americas has the biggest gaps between top1 and top10 and never has a top 10 average faster than Europe and Asia. And that's not because there's less skilled drivers, but because there's less drivers.

Japan has less people but they are super crazy with lap times and TTs. Europe has maybe 3 or 4x as many players as the Americas, which makes it more competitive between European players.

The gaps between 1st and last in any given European lobby are closer than in American lobbies (I know because I've raced in both regions and put top10 times in both regions too).

Also, in Europe, only 3 drivers per country could reach the regional finals and some countries have almost as many drivers as the US alone. Some have 2,3 or 4 times more drivers than Brazil, for instance and Brazil took more than 3 drivers to the regional finals.

To sum it up, the competitiveness argument is not related to the people in the world finals or the aliens, but for everyone playing in those regions and the access to a regional final, at least.

It looks like we'll have some great races at least. :)

It's not as popular in the Americas as it is in Europe. But looking at leaderboards alone is a whack way to measure up competitiveness. I really wish we had online crossover events, then you'd really see. We're more about racing, not time trialing.

I didn't look at leaderboards only. The UK + Germany alone have more players than the USA, Brazil, Chile and a few others all together. But only 3 British and 3 German players qualified for the Nations Cup regional finals. Saying it's just as competitive to qualify in the Americas as in some European countries doesn't make sense.

And I think people in Europe like to race just as much as everyone else. In fact, to qualify for the regionals everyone had to race, even those guys who finished in 4th in the UK, Germany, France, etc.

Not gonna fight over this. It's a simple question of numbers. The EMEA region has less spots available per total amount of players than the Americas and Asia.

As you said, the game is more popular in Europe. That makes it more competitive. Its doesn't mean the fastest of the fastest are European. My personal bet for the world's is Igor, from Brazil.
