On Saturday May 5th the WEC will be at Spa for 6 hours!

It's a shame we won't see the debut of the new Toyota TS030 Hybrid, but we'll get to see how the R18 e-tron quattros do against their diesel sister. Going to be a great race!

As we saw at Sebring(And also at Le Mans), the Audi's aren't invincible. It isn't likely that ALL 4 will have issues, but try to tell that to Peugeot.

Granted, they will be much quicker than they were at Sebring, since those were the old spec cars.

If you drove for Lotus/Pescarolo, and knew you werent going to win, would you opt out of a race anyways?

ALL of that aside, the real race this year, as I've said before, is in LMP2. That's the show to watch. Sure, GT might be close, but with the dwindling car count, it won't be that close once a few of them run into trouble.
They might as well combine GTE Pro and AM, since theres only 5 pro cars.
 
I'm still pretty sure that Audi will win, wish Toyota was there though.
 
Toyota is not ready, during the test sessions about 6 weeks ago, they badly dammaged their only monocoque. Therefore they want to be ready for lemans and skip Spa. Same for Pescarolo, their cars are not ready either and they will only come to Spa with the new Dome. Still is gonna be a beautifull and exciting race, and I will be there ;)
 
Will definitely be looking forward to watching this live via live stream. 👍

Disappointed that Toyota's only working chassis crashed during testing and will not show up at Spa. 👎

Hopefully Pescarolo's brand new Dome shall show its true speed potential. :)

They will be as the article says in the bottom ; Pescarolo will still be on the grid at Spa with the Dome-Judd S102.5 coupe, which it will also race at Le Mans.

Okay, Pescarolo have two cars: one for Bouillon-Collard-Jousee and one for Bourdais-Minassian. Bourdais and Minassian were always going to race the S102.5 this season. But Bouillon, Collard and Jousee were supposed to contest Sebring in the Pescarolo 01, and then step up to the 03 for Spa and beyond. But the Pescarolo-Judd 03 won't be ready. That's the new car th article is referring to. The S102.5 is not a new car; it's just the S102 with an upgrade.

I think racingworld was referring to the fact the Dome is a new car for the team as well as the fact the Dome has shown decent pace in the past but never really got the results it deserved due to unreliability.
The other car is a genuine Pescarolo - not a Dome.

Same could be said for the past 10 years of sportscar racing, its still good racing. Its not always just about the results and in any case, its by no means certain. A predictable result, but not a certainity. The Audis could well fall foul of reliability, tyre punctures or accidents in traffic. We'll still have to watch to find out.
 
Will be interested to see how Tresson, Mailleux and Lombard get on in the Signatech Nissan. They got really unlucky at Sebring.

Yeah but that's okay because in the American series there are like no P1 entries, so it evens out :)

Two HPDs, four Audis, a few Lolas. Should be awesome. Hopefully the HPDs can keep up with the R18s, or challenge them on pit strategy or something.

But yeah, like I said ALMS races are almost only GT cars except for the challenge class. In the colonies we don't get to see a lot of these P1 teams very often :D

EDIT: also, I think P2 will be the class to watch for this race. P1 is as Audi-dominant as it has been for a while now.
 
Unfortunately GT Entries are way too low. The LMP's arent great either. Hopefully this changes soon.

I noticed he tested there last week (published some pics and made some very, VERY enthusiastic comments about everything from the track to the car to the rain experience with it), hope he does well.

I'm expecting an easy Audi win in LMP1, and hoping for a "Morgan" :D win in LMP2.

But what I'm most curious about and eager to follow is the HPD battle between Strakka and JRM. And also how their pace compares to the Audis.

Being a Brabs fan I'll be cheering for JRM (and Chandhok is a nice guy too :) ).
 
After reading your post Hun200, I just realized that Chandhok is racing. Definitely want my fellow countryman to do good.
 
I like chandok. He's a real driver. I hope Him, Dumbreck, and Brabham do well.

Sadly, no. I'm sure Audi's sports car site, Le Mans.org, Justin.tv, FIAWEC.com and a few other places will have a stream.
 
Does anyone know if there is "offical" coverage? Such as eurosport or motorstv?
 
fiawec.com has a pretty good stream if you count that as official.
 
Does the WEC stream have commentary? Or should I plan to boot up Radio Le Mans also?
