What time is good for you? I'm on whenever!

Sorry I didn't do any practice tonight. I was busy running laps in another car

No problem, we can get some laps in tomorrow or something. Maybe I'll push back the race for Saturday. It all depends on what you all think.

I received some critical feedback regarding the tire wear issue. So I'm asking for feedback from the rest of those entered. Shall we keep tire wear on or off? Please reply in the thread or on PSN.

I see no point in turning tire wear on gt5s current tire wear model makes running cars at these hp levels impossible. You would need to drop hp by 300-400 if you wanted acceptable tire wear out of these cars.

Sorry I couldn't make the test yesterday; I was actually in an endurance race when I received the message. Otherwise I would have jumped right in.

As for the tire wear concerns... What was the issue?

In general I tend to favor races that include tire wear, since it adds an element of strategy to the racing that otherwise wouldn't be there, and also prevents everyone from running what would otherwise be a tire-chewing qualifying set-up.

The issue with tire wear is at circiut de la sarthe you get 2 laps @ 800-900hp cars. PD really did not take high hp cars into account when they decided to change the tire wear model to better suit the 5 lap nfs noobs.

The power levels of Group C cars eat tires like it's their last meal. So I decided to run tire wear off and make everyone use Softs and Mediums during the race(s).

Ah, yeah, pitting every other lap at Sarthe would get old after a while. Is it only going to be turned off for that track, though?

I'm not sure. After testing at Spa and Fuji they last maybe 5 laps or 6. So it's not much better.

I say tire wear on. Also, are we not allowed to do any tuning on these cars?

You're allowed to tune the car, but you can't run turbo chargers or any mechanical upgrades. I don't think you'll like tire wear when you put softs on your car and their gone in 3 laps.

Softs won't last 3 laps in these cars. Look at my guide in my sig. Most Group Cs run 5 laps on hards

Is it wear in general or wear due to excessive wheel spin? I'd think the latter could be fixed with a more oppressive TCS setting.

You can run TC on 10 and the tires will still be gone in 3 or 4 laps. Even at 500hp, the most soft tires last at LaSarthe (online) is 5 laps.

Besides, 5 is about the highest setting you can run TCS at before your times become substantially slower

Yeah, I usually run 4 or 5 for LMP/Group C.

That was MAX, USUALLY tc@2 works for me. Sometimes other cars are tricky to get on the throttle without a lot of wheelspin.

Is there an official date for the LaSarthe race yet?

We'll do a practice race this wednesday!

So spread the word to anyone who you may know that would be interested. They can join in with some available car.

What time would we practice? I have to coach a soccer team from 6-7pm

Tell me a time you're free! Eastern preferably.

I live in eastern so how about 7:30 or 8?

Yeah, thats perfect.

freshseth83
Yeah, thats perfect.

You can start earlier if you want, just I won't be there until 730ish probably

I have no intention to start it that early. I usually go around 5pm pacific time, which is 8 eastern.
