hows your career mode going? which teams have you managed so far? what transfers have you made? what progress have you made? (league position uefa cup etc...)

We already have a FIFA 13 thread, all the discussion goes in there:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=261735

That's almost exclusively used for FUT discussion and or moaning/ranting though. I'm a big career mode player and would've liked a thread where I could have shared my experiences with others. TEAM GTP have our own thread so I don't see the harm in this one.

I must agree the FIFA thread is in fact a UT and moan thread :)

I have my player at Aston villa and im playing a blinder of a season. Top assists but im not touching top goalscorer yet. Hope to move to a big club in the summer :D

I started with brisbane roar as a striker moved to Napoli in january (my 2nd favorite italian team) had the a-league season already won before i left, arrived at napoli with them in 7th and got up to second in the league with Juve winning.

+1
I play FIFA probably more than any other game right now, but I can't stand to go into the FIFA thread here. All it is is people whinging about EA 'cheating' them or 'scripting' or incessantly moaning about how unlucky they are in the UT market :yuck:👎

Career mode needs to be a separate thread from that mess.

As a manager, I am in my seventh season with Juventus right now, and I haven't sim-ed a single match. My squad is outrageously stacked, and I have a full 11 second team that alternates games with the first team, which is also outrageously stacked
Thinking about starting over with a new team, just to get something fresh.

Has anyone found any good youth players through scouting? Obviously regens are really good, but I'm talking about players you scouted through the youth academy. I have a few that are looking to be real superstars 👍

As an Australian i always send out one of my scouts there, in my Liverpool manager career im in the 8th season, i have seven Aussie scouted players with the youngest being 19 years old at 79 overall. My highest is at 22 years at 85 overall. i manage Australia also at the moment and i have turned them in to a 4.5 star team hoping for a 5 star by season 10 :)

This sounds great, i cant wait to hear more from you

Thinking of starting a new career with a lower league team that still has a decent budget. Any suggestions??

I'm managing Southampton, just before the January transfer window of Season 3.(December 2014)

I won the League Cup last season so I'm in the Europa League and got 5 wins and 1 draw in the group.

I have an amazing academy and the most promising scouted player I've ever seen, 16 years old and rated 70 OVR.:D I did cheat and get a take-over which vastly improved my team, but only really attack-wise.

My team:
Wiedenfeller (82)

Grimaldo (74)
Forren (82)
Maicon (82) Napoli player, not Man City
Shaw (76)

Cork (79)
Ward-Prowse (76)

Dzagoev (86)
Ramirez (85)
Bale (92)

Bony (85)

And the rest of the squad...
Gomes (78), Yoshida (79), Sterling (80), Paredes (79), Adryan (78) Cebellos (72) Davis (73) and then mostly academy players rated 70 and under.

If you have approx. 13-14 million get Wilfried Bony, plays for Vitesse and is an absolute beast, strong, great aerial presence, great finisher and surprisingly quick. Also, Gaston Ramirez gets brilliant aswell, sign him.

Currently 6th in the league, out of the Capital one cup, through to the next round of the Europa League, hoping to clinch Champions League football for next season.

Does anyone know a decent team with good potential that is in a good league or can get promoted into one? I'm bored with Liverpool and I easily kill everything in nPower League 2, so preferably not England, and not France either, League 1 seems too easy.

Dortmund in germany has an EXTREMELY young squad, take them.

I don't really want to start with a squad like Dortmund. They're already established and have many players already in the 80 rated region. I was thinking about a team that has some growth, but isn't really there yet.
Akmuq
Bale (92)
In my 2018 Liverpool career, I got Bale up to 97 as a LM. In the newer updates, he's a LW/CF.

Well i cant really think of a team that has a young squad that isnt quite a good squad already. I got bale up to 98 in my Liverpool career (2020).

So i decided to start a new career with AC Milan. good team, but quite an old squad and a defesive rebuild needed. Sold pato to chelsea for $35million then bought balotelli and mertesaker with that money. Also sold Zaccardo to Southhampton and Antonini to Parma. won 5 from 6 games in the UCL group stages drawing the other. Winning the league on goal difference with a game in hand over Napoli in 2nd. knocked out of the domestic cup by Juve. nothing happened in the January transfer window. won the champions cup over Bayern 2-1 with the winner coming in the 89th minute from balotelli!!! also won the league with 85 points, Juve 2nd on 82 and Napoli with 81 in third.

started the 2nd season and the board gave me $57million to spend. Man City came calling for robinho offering $18million for him. I countered with $42million as i didnt really want to lose him, but if he went for that money i would be fine with it. THEY ACCEPTED!!!!! So now who was i going to replace him with? i searched for a bit and finally came to a conclusion...CR7!!! offered real madrid $90million and the accepted, i offered him $300000 a week and...HE ACCEPTS!!!! MILAN HAS RONALDO!!!! But my midfield was quite weak, so out went Flamini for $5million, so i bought Motta for $10million and that is all that has happened so far in season 2.

If youre getting bored then do what I did and start with a team from League two and work your way up to the Premier League. Thats what Ive done. Really challenging too but some might find it frustrating as you dont always have the best budget to work with. Took me six seasons to work my way up and now I need to win it!

I did that with Wycombe Wanderers and it was graet fun. I really reccomend it.

I started with Real Sociedad yesterday, and they're a pretty good team. I started off by picking up a 75 rated RB from Barcelona who has decent pace and buying Unnerstall after my GK was bought. Then, after the first game of the season, my LW wanted to leave, so I bought Jozy Altidore, who is a total animal, and Van Ginkel from Vitesse, who bosses the midfield. After that, I was left with no budget, and no backup LW, so I took a new ST/LW/RW from I think Fiorentina. Currently sitting at 3rd on the La Liga table as well, behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Im currently in my 7th season half way through. I am 3rd in the standings with Tottenham 1st, Chelsea 2nd and Liverpool 4th. My next fixtures are Chelsea, Liverpool then Tottenham so its pretty intense!!

I versed Chelsea and managed to beat them 4-1. How I did that dont ask me!! Anyways, next game up against Liverpool and we were drawing into the second half. Their striker got a break and was 1 on 1 with the keeper and my keeper got red carded! I dont remember the exact circumstance but my keeper basically slid tackled him (I never pressed anything to control the keeper, he did this himself). I have no replacement keeper at all in my team!! In all of my 7 seasons of playing this team Ive never had to use one so Ive never kept one lol Anyways they scored the penalty. I changed formation to be ultra defensive and it stayed that way but now I have to vs Tottenham in 1st place without a proper keeper... this is going to be fun.

EDIT:

No one else been playing? Its all ive been playing lately.. After the above I ended the season in 5th. Im now half way through the next season (My 8th in total, 3rd in the Premier League).

Started out the season as favourites but started slow.. drew a few games and lost 1. Then I started winning and there was no turning back, currently leading! 23 games played with a 17-5-1 ratio.

My goalie started telling me he was homesick and just didnt like the lifestyle anymore, wanted to go back home. Got really annoyed as I was having my best season yet. Anyways, half way through and into the transfer window no joke first day a message pops up saying my goalie is injured and will be out for 3 months. Basically the rest of the season. So I put him in the transfer list lol He got sold to Tottenham and I was playing them next. Something must of happened to their keeper as they had Gareth Bale in there and theyve just purchased my injured keeper lol goodluck. Thought it was pretty funny. I didnt even realise he was keeper until about 25mins into the game I gave away a penalty and the goalie was taking it. I was thinking WTF is the keeper doing taking the penalty shot? He missed and almost scored off it haha
