I had this game pre-ordered for a while and it finally got released in the UK today much to my delight when the courier rang my doorbell this morning and handed it over. As an avid boxing fan I've got to say I'm so impressed with this game, I've had every Fight Night and every one of it's predecessor Knockout Kings and this one is the best so far.
The new champion mode is excellent although at 5 1/2 hours to finish it's a bit short but certainly a worthy addition to the series. The storyline is a bit far-fetched without ever getting too over the top and with different stipulations in most fights, it encourages you even more to think about what you're doing rather than go in all guns blazing. I wouldn't mind some DLC for champion mode that continues the story after the finale.
The fighting itself just feels a lot more fluent and realistic than it did in Round 4, the boxers movements aren't as robotic as they used to be and the new total punch control is a lot more intuitive than the previous incarnation, with one analog direction for a certain punch as opposed to the old quarter circle hook etc.
The legacy mode seems much the same apart from a few refinements and a few ideas stolen from UFC Undisputed, which quite frankly isn't a bad thing.
I've yet to go online and fight so I can't really comment on that yet.
When all's said and done it was a real surprise after being let down big time in the last 4 months by two of my most anticipated games, CoD Black Ops and of course, GT5. It's the first time in a while that a game has really impressed me straight out the box.
