Unzip the zip file, find forcedel.exe in the unzipped files, copy it to c:\windows\system32 (if you're using XP, c:\winnt\system32 in Windows 2000).. Then open a command prompt, goto the directory with the file(s) you can't delete and type "forcedel annoying-filename"...PovertyHow do I use it?
Povertylol im too scared to do that. My mos got alot of important files on this pc dont want to risk deleting anything I shouldnt.
Unlocker is boring - forcedel will do everything in one moveShannonTry Unlocker then.

Impreza04Then you need to close Limewire and try.. if that doesn't work, make sure Limewire Startup on Windows startup is turned off and restart your PC and delete them : )

Personally, I think the best solution is finding out what process is using the file and killing it. In this case, my guess is Limewire. Have you tried deleting them with Limewire closed?
donbenniI've got a similar, but different problem.
I've got some music files on my upstairs PC which i can access from my downstairs PC via a network. I can play 99% of my music files on the downstairs PC fine, but a few won't play due to file restrictions. I cannot copy the files over the network either. They can play and can be copied on my upstairs PC.
Any cool utilities lying around that can sort these files out?
amp88I don't understand what the "file restrictions" you're talking about are. Can you expand on that?
amp88On the original thread...make sure Limewire isn't still running (open Task Manager and look for it in the Process list, if it's there, right click it and end it), as has already been suggested twice.
If that still doesn't work, you can try to find out what it's being used by (with IsUsedBy (google it)).
If they're incomplete video files, Windows Explorer may be attempting to display the preview image of the file. If this is the case, try deleting the file with something like Nero (which doesn't employ Windows Explorer to display your file system). Alternatively, open up Task Manager, end explorer.exe (from the Process list), then go to File > New Task (Run...) and enter "explorer" (without the inverted commas, of course).
If Explorer is hanging on trying to preview the files, rebooting your PC and trying to delete the file(s) again won't solve it, you'll just repeat the problem.
