i have to test, but it looks like it 1.4.10 for me. unless the pescarolo combo gets in. pesky at lemans, that´s my number one combo if we can use all rumble strips and tarmac areas:tup:
 
all right. i tested the possible combos i can race in this BC.

1.4.1 love it. suits me very well, i can push the car all i want without fear of wheelspin and stuff. my favorite so far. (sorry dion, but i also want this one, lets flip a coin...):guilty:

1.4.3 that´s a well thought combo. i could race it if needed but i think it has steve or dion written all over. you guys will like it.

1.4.10. what a shocker. i sucked badly in this one. i mean, its the BC, lets be 100% honest. the car does not match the tires, mediuns suck for this combo. you guys will see. lots of wheelspin. no way i can do this combo with my two stick technique with the DS. i suggest we put a driver with a DFP for this one, sorry, i thought the combo was made for me, but the tires ruined.

tested only lemans, because i suck at nurb and i wouldn´t be crazy to ask to run in the nurb in a competition like this one. i´m really positive about the pesky here. its a PERFECT combo for me. i got my fingers crossed, if this one passes in the voting, i´m very happy:tup:

didn´t tested other combos, because i won´t be any fast in those. i have some ideas for us to do a little and fast test before we assign the combos, i´ll get on that later, right now i have to go out eat some pizza:dopey:

lots of drivers from different boards already have their laps saved in this one, from the WRS week 7. unfair advantadge and a little predictable. dion, i think no quarter should know this, don´t think this combo will pass at all:tup:
 
Well i voted for the lemans race. so lets hope others will to :).

Once the final races get choosen we can start properly figure out whats best. It seems we could have a few drivers do a few different combo's. Say they do max of 1hr on a combo then post their time and others who want that combo do 1hr also and see how we compare.

But i could do probably 1.4.1 - 1.4.2 - 1.4.3.

Just have to wait 1 more day until the final races are choosen.
 
had a quick few laps in the CZ-3, with the chicane, and it is going to be an absolute corker of a race if it is chosen... i shall enjoy it immensely... 👍

EDIT: just did a few races in the S2000LM at Tsukuba and that shall be quite fun as well so i don't mind which one is chosen for the Wet race

RSS tyres on the LM are gone in a couple of laps so they are useless, the RS tyres will be do the job nicely... it is quite well thought up this S2000 challenge coz there is only one AI to race against, and he can be passed by the first corner even on AI +10...

I will try 1.4.10 and see how bad it is. I could Possibly race that too i suppose.

Edit, fasj, you dont need TCS for the 787b.

Top speed 370, and dont shift to 2nd. 0% power -10% weight. No need for TCS, plus it wont wheelspin. Even if it does its so slight you should be able to control it with the DS2. I have as good throttle control with DS2 as the DFP if not better.
 
I'd really like to do 1.4.3

But if we have a 'race off' for some of these I don't mind. Just remember, we should decide definitively soon, so we get the maximum time to put into our combos.

Are you allowed to run a harder compound then stated? I've found that the BMW in my combo feels much better with Racing Hards on the back, it also seems to be faster.

Can we get clarification on the rule then? I don't want to be wasting time doing something I'm not allowed to do.
 
I did some testing last night. There are some nice races here. :) I can't believe the lack of GT mode though. That should take some of the pressure off to find a good setup anyway.

1.4.1-Twitchy car, bumpy narrow track. Nice!
1.4.2-Pretty good race. I don't have a good win record on this track though.
1.4.3-I liked this one a lot. 👍 But if Casio has dibs that's cool.
1.4.4-Definitely not my type of race. I wouldn't enjoy this one.
1.4.6-I liked the CZ the best.
1.4.7-I didn't test.
1.4.8-IMO, this is the best combo in the competition. If Curtis decides he doesn't have time for the 10 lapper, I'll give it a crack. Love it! 👍
1.4.9-This is just like the ARC race, only faster. I like it a lot!
1.4.10-Like Dion said. Just bump the gears up, and the wheelspin goes away. It's a good combo. Maybe a good one for jmgyro???
 
well if the wheelspin goes away, i dont want to be wasting time with the ds2 if there's a lot of wheelspin since we'd lose a lot of time

how high do you have it set?

Somebody needs to race 1.4.4. any takers? I WILL not race this one unless i really really have to. But please dont take it if you dont like it. If no one likes it, i will take it i guess.
 
yea does seem a lot easier. I was trying it out with 370 initially it was just hitting the curbs was making it wheelspin a lot more.

after about 20 mins im at 1.28.515
that any good?

also I'm using 0% power and -10% weight?? no weight was specified, does it need to be 0%power/0% weight

edit: 1.28.383 and .7 up at T1 on other time. with the right gears maybe I could do 1.26 assuming this is the right settings

Since weight cannot be verified, the only choice we've got is to run all scenarios at -10%, so you're on the right track.

well had a quick stab at the 787b combo, with 370 top speed and managed to do 1'26.661 (xx.773 REALLY GOOD SPLIT!/ 5x.3xx lost a bit here)

okay, no tcs, use 3rd gear for first at 85-90, flat-out untill the right, where a left foot tap of brakes down to 175ish will sufice, u can take this reall fast if u nail it just right, and the tight right i used 2nd- well, before i continue.....u need a dfp for this combo, end of story, so jymro or fasj8, i highly recommend u stay clear of this combo, as u wont achieve much with it unless u use the wheel.

thank you. so i was not crazy. yes you can get away from the wheelspin, but using 2nd gear in some turns its faster. i´ll wait on the lemans to see what happens
 
Dan, I hate to impose, but are you able to throw together a quick setup for my combo? I can make it driveable by setting most everything on the soft side, but I can't seem to understand how to make it drive the way I want, if that makes sense.

Running 1'26.5xx laps so far, but I can easily see more in it if the setup is right. I am just not very experienced when it comes to GT-mode.

after talking to him on the MSN, and also after checking his amazing qualifying time with a normal car, maybe 1.4.4 is a very good combo for jmgyro. you should check this one out... might be our normal car driver that we are looking for:tup:

hmmm. I didn't think the dfp would make that big of a difference. But with the DFP I was able to get a 1'27.1 fairly quick, so it must!
 
ok, final combos are in on GTX. no lemans this time. its nurb with the audi TT-R, so i think its dan´s combo.

steve, feel free to take the 787:tup:

i already started with the viper combo, 1.4.1 ran 10 minutes and got 1´01. i garantee that i´ll have a sub one minute time in this one. its good with the DS2, i can use my left foot braking (with the R1 butom) and i don´t need to learn the track or the car, did a lot of testing there for the JGTC.

as for open tuning i assume its +20, -10 and R5. ran with stock gearing, so there´s even more room for improvment. there´s a big holyday here in brazil next week, so i´ll promess to put at least 20 hours on my BC combo.

right now i think we have to find races for dion, jmgyro, toffe right? i think the others are almost set by now:tup:
