I just read over at IGN theres not only a FF VII movie but a FF VII-2 game as well in development.

BTW, two good hints. Later in the game, when you go back to the capitol city (damn. Can't remember that either ) have Barret with you so that you'll get his best weapon. And when you enter the underground tunnels go south and you'll get the W-Item.

Do this, and the capital is called Midgar.

Oh and GoKents,if u ever decide to face Ruby Weapon(If u dare),try and beat him wihout any cheap tricks(like killing your 2 party members and leaving the strongest alive).I pulled it off without cheats and without any cheap tricks.It is the ultimate test for your characters.You will find Ruby Weapon in the sand near the Golden Saucer after you get the airship.

I found the only way to beat ruby weapon was to have one person in your party, the other two tend to get sucked away unless they start dead. Then you resurect them during the process, although i've never bothered to try doing that. Emrald weapon is a chore though, with all the times you have to do nights of the round and bahumut zero four times.

Well it looks like I have just finished the most annoying part of the game (atleast for me).

What part is that you ask?

The part where Tifa and Cloud are not playable characters.

For a while there I almost just gave up completely since I had no desire to run around playing with Barret, Cid and Vincent (sorry if that offends you all ).

But that is just how it was... I didn't want to play with them! I want to play using Cloud and Tifa! (barret is the 3rd member of the party for me)

So any way, I got through that part.

A great little story played out after I finally got through the mideel and ft. condor areas.

Cloud "found himself" and now everyone is back on track.

Only thing that really pisses me off is the fact that I'm gonna have to spend some time getting cloud back up to a dominating level.

ATM I am at level 60.
I've got all the major materia to this point and I plan on doing chocobo races so I can get to the "forest of the ancients."

So um, yeah, that's where I currently stand...
Everyone is playable again and Cloud & Tifa are at level 60. 👍

I will be back soon with updates since I can finally start playing this again.


You've gotta realize, the second both Cloud and Tifa were ruled out as playable characters I nearly threw the game out the window.

Yup, that's what I also did. I killed off the two members I didn't want to use, leaving Cloud. Emerald Weapon was alot harder to beat, in my opinion.

GoKents, try to do the Chocobo breeding if you have time; it's a blast! Well, if you want to beat the 2 Weapons you're going to have to get the Golden Chocobo anyways (you need it to get The Knights Of the Round).

I've beaten that game so many times I new it like the back of my hand. but than i got rid of my PS... man I miss that thing. i am just too lazy to get a PS2 so my FF games are just sitting there wasting away. I miss GT2 also......

I would strongly suggest NOT using KOTR for Emerald and Ruby. It just takes too long, what you DO need for Emerald is Pheonix Summon. I can't remember how i beat the weapons, but im pretty sure it was mimed Omnislash until Emerald used that move that kills all your chars, then Pheonix + Last Cast/Death Cast (can't remember materia name) came into effect to bring them back. After that i can't remember what i used, but i do know i almost never used KOTR as it just took way to long, much like Bahamut Zero.

That makes no sense. So what if KOTR has a long animation? It looks cool, and it's the best summon available. Use it, I say.

I didn't lkike the animation for KOTR myself but I still used it since each time took off over 80000 hit points.

There is a time limit on Emerald Weopen people may struggle with. You need the Underwater Materia by Morphing the Ghost Ship enemy. Also I used Master Magic Materia to boost stats to 255. The KOTR Summon then did 9999 virtually every hit. Add this to Mime and W-Summon and the battle can be over in just 2 or 3 attacks. You won't even need the Underwater Materia! Boring but quick!
Beware! If Cloud reaches Level 90+ the final fight with Sephiroth will be harder. Not impossible, but harder.

Try beating the Emerald without any material(exception maybe underwater materia). It shouldn't be too hard you just need a lot of megalixirs. Without your materia, Emerald's Airetam Storm attack will be useless. Just have the best weapons equiped, armor with best evasion(forgot what is was called) and Ribbon. My friend did this before but I have yet to try it out.

At the point of giving up.

After finding out breeding chocobos is necessary to get the KOTR summon, I gave up pretty much.

I have no desire to breed those damn birds, and I have no desire to race them.

On top of that, my drive for gt is back, so now Im running in the weekly again.

All in all, I would say the only way to get me into the game again would be a quick way through chocobo breeding.

If you guys have any hints for that, please, by all means give me any advice possible.

Or if you happen to have an Xplorer Cheat Cartridge you could just use the code to have all summons.Now i don't recall you mentioning if you are playing this game on PS One or the PS2,if it's the latter then you won't be able to use the Xplorer and will have to get the summon the hard way.In other words,quit hehe.It's too much of a hassle to breed and get the gold chocobo.

Um, Emerald is beatable in under 2 minutes, but that takes a very long preperation time. All you really need is 8 matered Mime materias and 8 mastered counter attacks. First off you put said mastered materia on Barret and get his limit maxed, we will be using Ungermax here, a level 3 IIRC. Then you have Cloud with a W-item and two Hero's. Battle starts, Cloud gives 2 Hero drinks to Barret and Barret uses his Limit Ungermax, to which Emerald should counter. Pray he hit's Barret here, if he does, sit back and watch, if he doesn't, load that game you saved right before taking him on. Level 99 and 255 stats recomended, but not needed. Re-read the posts and look for "Emerald weapon" to see how others beat it. My strategy consisted of Knights of the Round cast twice followed by (2) mimics. It took forever but you had plenty of time to go get somethin to drink, eat, let out the dogs...

The book says that he is well over 500,000 hp. For one of the battles I kept track and came out over 2.5 million hp. That would qualify as "well over 500,000".

Breeding chocobos isn't so hard. Just read the Chocobo breeding walktrough. You can find those almost anywhere.

I totally understand how you feel Gokents. Ive been doing the same thing. I'm at the point where I dont wanna get KOTR, or spend my time mastering materia like 2x 4x slash. I just got clouds ultimate limit, so I think I can beat sephiroth now. I fought him before for like..an hour, and died. I was pissed.

Thanks for the interest pimp racer but I am not anywhere closer to the final goal.

In fact, I gave up on it.

Just didn't want anything to do with chocobo racing or breeding.

Sad too... I leveled cloud, tifa & barret up to great levels and had most of my important materia at a master level.

It was certainly a great game that I really enjoyed, but in the end it was just too much to worry about the "stupid" parts.

I mean, all that power I had and with all those great graphics and the awesome gameplay... the game ended up coming down to a freaking bird race for the ultimate power? WTF?

Oh well, but I will let you all know if I start up on this quest again.
In the mean time just wish the gtp luck for bc4.

What the... ? You don't need KOTR to beat the game. I fact, my friend beat the hell out of the final bosses, and he didn't have any "cool" stuff, like KOTR, Clouds final limit or anything like that.

Hmm Same as what I did I couldnt/cant beat the main boss or any of those "weapons" the one in the sea and dessert. Too hard but anyways I am looking forward to buying the sequel when it comes out. You have any plans to buy it? Or does anyone here at GTP have plans to buy it?
