a while ago there was a minor dispute between me and other members regarding advent children and being a remake of final fantasy VII, well........here is a glimpse of hope: tken from IGN

July 20, 2004 - There's more Final Fantasy VII in store for the masses in the future, according to the latest issue of Japan's V Jump Magazine. The monthly comic magazine reveals that outside of the Final Fantasy Advent Children DVD and Final Fantasy Before Crisis wireless game, Square Enix has plans for a huge title as part of its "Final Fantasy VII" project. The magazine goes on to state that "that character" will appear in the game, with what appears to be the shadow of Vincent in the background (Vincent was one of the lesser main characters in Final Fantasy VII).

This marks the first time that solid hints have appeared on further Final Fantasy VII titles from a major source. Previously, Square Enix posted advertisements on trains in Japan suggesting that more Final Fantasy VII could be in the works (for a look at that ad, see this IGN Wireless article).
We hope to hear more from Square Enix on the matter as the upcoming Final Fantasy VII titles near Japanese release later this year.

I just started a thread on my recent undertaking... To finally beat Final Fantasy 7!

Right now I am loving the game, but the entire time I have been thinking about how nice a remake would be.

If we were to get a remake of ff7 for the ps2 I would certainly buy it.

Now to further fuel this fire.

FF12 is being made by the same group of people that made FF7 ( not entirely sure about that, but I think I heard that on the G4 network).

I sure hope it's not a coincidence.

In fact, I hope that the FF7 team was brought on for FF12 under the assumption that they would get to do something like a FF7-2.

Man woud that be cool.

Oh well, for now all we can do is wait and hope for the best. 👍

btw, if the ff7 team is in fact creating ff12, then I will surely be buying ff12.

I used to hate it, but now I love single player RPGs from square. :D
 
go Kents I got so involved with breeding the birds that it must have taken me 200 hrs to beat the game the first time , That and I was having alot of frickin fun. But if I remember right once you build up all your balls and get nights of the round its a cake walk to beat almost all the bosses, I think the one I had the most trouble with was the one thats stuck in the sand near the casino ..great game I might have to dig it out of storage.
 
BEST GAME. EVER. BTW remember that vincent was a clone of sephiroth, and the actually look very similar... I would buy ff12 AND ff7-2 it would be a dream come true... next to gt4....
 
I've been tempted to go to EB and buy a used copy of Final Fantasy 7. Maybe I'll do that once I buy the Creative Labs Inspire T5400 that I've been looking at. They seem to be getting good marks. I remember playing FF7, and it took a long time, yet it was fun (Never finished it). Here's a debate:
which was better, FF7 or FF8. From what I've heard, FF7 is better.
 
The only Final Fantasy's I've played are FF1, FF3, FF10, and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I've really been thinking about buying FF7 though.

I absolutely loved that game to death. FFVII was also great in my op9inion. I would like to see another FFVII game out for ps2 sometime. I would love to see a FFVII remake for PS3 in high definition with dolby digital or in game DTS that would be absolutely lovely!
 
I think people will find that FFVII-Advent children, is a full animated movie like FF-the spirits within, if ya look on the net for the trailer you shud be able to find a divx version with subs in english, it looks stuning, Its set 20 years after the game which was the best FF game since ff I,II,III,IV. imo :)

Oh thats awesome! Prob wont be here for like 4 years or something, but still it's good too hear. I wanna play FF7 again but when ever I put in my FF7 disc into my PS2, it makes a weird ass grinding noise, anyone know whats up with that? The disc is perfectly fine btw.
 
Originally Advent Children was scheduled to be released in Summer 2004 in Japan. However just after E3, the release date was changed to a more vague "2004" timeframe. Information released soon after indicated that Advent Children would be released after Before Crisis, which is being released in September in Japan. This puts the Japanese release date somewhere between September and December 2004.

The US release date is likely to be some time during the first quarter of 2005, either at the same time as Sony's PSP or sometime shortly after. A couple of online gaming stores have recently opened pre-orders for the PSP version of the movie, and list speculative release dates between the end of March/early April.

No European or Australian release date has been heard of as yet, although like the games, we speculate that it would be likely a release will occur for these countries after the movie is released in the US.

The only Final Fantasy's I've played are FF1, FF3, FF10, and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I've really been thinking about buying FF7 though.

Buy it, it's fantastic, I still have it but I don't have a PS1 memory card anymore although I am thinking of buying one.
 
That's a couple of games from the past. FF7 was the benchmark game for massive rpgs spread over 3 plus discs, it was one of my favorite games ever but FF8 just took that rpg crown. Both must be in people's top 20 games list.
 
I hope it comes out in the U.K. cause we always the last to recieve anything in this country.
Thinking ourselves lucky even if it's released. The antisipation must be high, there are alot of FF freeks out there waiting patiently for the next best thing since sliced bread.
