Any Final Fantasy players in here? I have played Vll, X and X-2. They are so good. It's just that I hate the sexuality that has come an important part of the FF series. Take X-2 for an example. OMG! Those Japanese are so pathetic (sorry for the stereotype).

But anyway. Tell me what ever you want. As long as your post involves Final Fantasy, I approve you.

Here goes.
FF1 - Great
FF2 - Dunno never played
FF3 - Dunno
FF4 - Dunno
FF5 - Awesome
FF6 - Awesomer
FF7 - About the same level of awesomeness
FF8 - Ok
FF9 - Crap
FF10 - Didn't even bother
FF10-2 - Don't care
Every FF after those - Don't care

I don't have the time to play those sorts of games anymore anyway.

Have FFX AND FF7 ON PS2 and PS1 respectively. I love the Final Fantasies, FF7 was de best although FFX does have strong points such as Blitzball, Dark Aeons etc.

So whats your status in FFX. MadHypello (thats if you still play it) such as which Dark aeons have you beaten and which secret weapons you have acquired.

I started a new file some days ago. i have beaten Dark ifrit,valefor and shiva, and i am currently working on the rest.

In blitzball most of my players are around lv18. As for the weapons i did a little bit of cheating to get some dark matter and other items. @ the moment i have about 5 crests.

ff6 = awesomest
ff7 = decent
ff8 = awesome
ff9 = terrible
ffx = worthless
ffx-2 = didn't even bother

I have only played VII,VIII,X and X-2.The best was VIII,then X,then VII and last X-2.
Actually i too have started a new FFX game a while ago,i just beat Penance(took me 40 minutes).Penance was definetly one of the hardest bosses i have ever faced.

Don't talk to me like that! I don't understand what you're saying!

OK,I'll stop. I haven't given a thought to them dark aeons. I don't have the time to level up my characters so much, that I would be able to beat them. And those crests.... "If you fart just talking about them, you'll **** when you try 'em." :lol:

And BTW I think that FF7 was GREAT! I just didn't always understand WTF was going on. FFX had on excellent story too, and the voice actors were a big+. I hated the scene where Tidus and Yuna whistled and laughed together, after leaving Luca.

The FFX-2 is a great disappointment. The sex is overwhelming me, and it's pathetic. They ruined a good game. And the pop concerts... God da*n.

I think that this is my longest post ever. wow. Do I really write so short posts?

I might consider getting ffx-2 international if the game's interface is in English. FFX international was a lot cooler to have because of it 👍

I would pick up VII and IX, you missed two pretty great games. VII had realistic (at the time) characters and had a unique magical system in which you drew from the enemies. Basically any spell the enemy had you could take for yourself. Then you could bind the spells to increase attack, defense, HP, speed, and give yourself resistences or add effects tou your attacks. (and so much more.)
The story was basically one of love (same with the upcoming XII.)
And IX featured the superdeformed character styles (more so than VII) and you'd be hard pressed to like any character more than Vivi.

I think you mean VIII but what the hey, yeah FFVIII's battle system was unique and it was pretty cool stocking up on all the spells to enhance your stats. The summon system was good too, well apart from that boost thing where you had to hammer the square button at certain periods.

In IX only two characters realy stood out, Vivi as you'd mentioned and Freya, all the other characters were irritating or clichéd.

I think it's the characters that really make or break it for me. If I don't like them I couldn't be tossed if their able to save the planet/universe/chocobos/etc.

you forgot to mention your favourite character!! Kuja!!!

my god, what were they smoking when they came up with that look for him? you should have seen the look on my friend's faces when they found out that Kuja was really a guy :P

Oh yeah, he was so hot.

I think they just wanted to add some shock factor into the game. Like a crossdressing badguy. I mean Double you tee eff?

I first played FF7 at a friend's house; his mother had bought it for him as a present and he hated it. He was unable to understand it or really play it, so he offered it to me. After five minutes of not knowing what I was doing I turned down the offer.

FF8 came out to reasonably rave reviews (granted less so than those of FF7), so I decided I had to give it a go. I rented it, played for a few hours, made absolutely no progress whatsoever and promptly bought it. I utterly adored it, it was probably the single most defining gaming experience ever for me. The characters, the story, the effects, the side quests, this game had it all to me.

FF9 emerged and was a return to what people seem to consider the 'true' FF genre, with castles and damsels in distress, but it was the technology of FF8 that had appealed to me greatly, so I skipped on 9.

FFX was the first foray into the world of 128 bit and my god, was I staggered. My friend had warned me that Tidus' voice was nasally American, but from the moment I heard the characters start speaking, played through the opening section, I knew this was something special. Everyone complains about the girlyness of FFX-2, and it's indeed a large departure from the FF formula, but I need closure after crying my way through the ending to X, so I'll buy it sometime soon.

In response to an earlier question, I've beaten all of the dark aeons and defeated Penance, but I don't think I've actually gotten around to trying Omega Gold yet, I should do that this evening.

That's how I felt about FF8 as well. I rented it only because of the hype round Final Fantasy and it was my first FF game. I fell in love within the first hour and I bought it that weekend. I suppose FF8 would be the Non-RPG Gamer's RPG. My little brother would just sit and stare at the screen while I played, it was that amazing to see. I still like the real time battles that FF8 had. None of this turn base crap, it's too slow for me.

Apparently real time is back in X-2 and hopefully from then on in. I found it useful from the point of view that I could plan my battles more comprehensively, which was useful at times, but overall it took away from any fear in combat.

I saw clips of FFX2 and i knew squaresoft had gone wrong. i agree that they have now focused on the sex appeal rather than game appeal which is quite dissapointing.

Many people dont think highly of FFX but i think it is excellent and a really great game, unfortunately the following FFs after that dont quite live up to the high standards set by the FF predecessors such as FF7.

(i dont have FFx2, should i buy it?)

I think real time battles had more fear. The enemy could do any attack at anytime and you had to be ready for it. As for turn based, you can walk away for a half hour and still be on the same move. Not very entertaining.

I don't consider X-2 to be a 'true' Final Fantasy. I'm not sure what Square was thinking when they developed X-2. I think it's horrible to throw away a tradition like every new Final Fantasy being a new experience.

I agree FF7 was quite confusing. esp the Zack flashbacks and fighting with sephiroth in the past and other long cut scenes. but after playing the game a couple of times i understood parts i couldnt before.

Final Fantasy X-2 will only be appreciated by those who played,liked and finished Final Fantasy X.The story gets pretty good around the end of Chapter 2,untill then you won't have a clue on what to do and why you should do it.On a side note,Yuna,Rikku and Paine are hot.:D

Bad news is FF12 apparently diverges even further from the true FF style.

If the characters and story are appealing, i'm not bothered how different it is gameplay wise. Although at the moment I highly doubt i'll get FF12.

LOL, yeah I meant VIII. That what you get for doing drugs in the 60's ;)

Couldn't you have done drugs in the 70's or even the 80's and made the same mistake? :D

Don't get me wrong, as I said, I'll get X-2 and I'll get XII as well, as you said, if the story and characters are as great as the rest of the series then I too will be hooked; I was just warning some of the other members in case they had their hopes pinned on a return to form.

I'm with Race Idiot on this one.

FF1 - The best.
FF2 thru FF6 - Awesomes.
FF7 - Good.
FF8 thru FF X-2 - Trash. Gets even worse as the number goes up.

FF 11 & 12 - Look like crap.

So let me get this straight.You like the old FF games better then then the current ones?How is that possible?:banghead:
Also you say FF 11 and 12 look like crap.:odd:
Try comparing FF 11 or 12 to FF 1-9 and see wich ones look like crap.

I am not talking about graphics only.He said the old FF games look better.Well,they don't.Now i haven't played and FF game below VII but in what way are they better then the current FF games,like FF X,XI or even the upcoming XII?
