Went up Baldwin Street, the worlds steepest street, this evening and decided to film it. :)

Well, in-car anyway and vid/sound quality isn't the best seeing as it was taken with my cellphone (Sony Ericsson K800i). And i was holding it above the dash while driving.

Please ignore the 'vroom pish' sound effects me and my girlfriend make as we get to the top of the street - can't hear it in the vid, but could hear the turbo and blow off valve in person. :p :D ;)

Now i know the sound quality isn't that bad (or was just lucky this time) i may try take more vids.

I've seen some driveways that steep, (and gravel at that. common in the River Valley,) but never a public road. wow.

Nah, wasn't planting it at all, it was just revving in second gear as i had it in 2 rather than D. And it didn't go above 50 at all, at the steepest part it was doing about 47km/h or 48 km/h.

Did a grasskhana today (see this post: http://southernskylines.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=27209#27209) and it was filmed with a proper size TV camera... hope to get the footage soon and put it on YouTube. :D :D

Heres a pic of my girlfriends car at the top when we went up it last year, pic was taken at the same place i started turning at the top of the hill in the vid.

Must have been.

Below is a link to a vid of me doing a grasskhana on Saturday - was just learning this day so don't laugh to hard at my lack of driving skills. ;) The next day on that same course i was handbraking a lot more and generally keeping the throttle buried a fair bit more too which resulted in some awesome 4WD drifts. :D Started to feel like i was learning a bit of car control on day two?

Did a nice huge 4WD drift through some cones, as well as a seemingly perfect tight handbrake 180 turn around a cone (neither of them filmed :(). :D

Best part of the vid (for me) is the turbo lag at about 41 seconds, going around the second last cone it just takes off in a cloud of dust when the turbo finally kicks in. Nearly hit the cone after that because i think i tried to handbrake around it (too early)?

The guy whose camera the footage was taken on also had a go in his GTS/GTS-25 (not sure which model his is).

You two look nice together :D

I met a a fellow Skyline owning chick a while ago, too bad it didn't work out :(

Oh well, right now I am working my way in with a chick Silvia owner :nervous: (Clash of the NISSANS!)

Thanks :)
.....which reminds me. We really should get some piccys of US together, instead of our cars :O  hehe

You mean you're not the car?! :p

BTW just curious, do you actually have any real Nismo parts on your car?

Not yet..........

Maybe get an Oil Filler Cap or something one day, you know, nothing too outrageous ;) (the thing that is outrageous is how much the Nismo parts cost :| )

Not all Nismo parts are outrageous in price, I have a couple Nismo engine parts as they were cheaper or similar priced to other quality Japanese brand name stuff. For example I picked up a new from Nismo adjustable fuel pressure reg for less than other brands like Sard and it looks almost stock so the Police here don't get wise..... ;)

Yeah, quite true, I havnt looked into much really..... someone was selling an Oil Filler Cap for about $80NZ on Trademe, genuine Nismo one, and a cheap knock-off one was half that price :indiff:

Will be one day. :sly: :p
WOOTYS!!! hehe :p :sly:

I use a stock Nissan oil cap, I don't see the need for a Nismo one (all business under my bonnet, though I like it clean). The reason parts like the oil cap is expensive is because people want it because it is Nismo, just a flashy name thing rather than the purpose of Nismo, so yeah those parts are expensive.

Sorry if I sound like I am hassling you about, don't mean to.

I want the oil cap.......cos its shiny and says Nismo :p (just what you said most people want them for  :D )
