Welcome! Enjoy the ride. And do yourself a favour and buy a wheel. Seriously. I own the Logitech Driving Force Pro since GT4, very good product, payed 100€ then (roughly 130USD), should be cheaper by now.

Have fun
:)

If you want anything, just ask. Got a Ferrari Scuderia for you if you want to get money.

Oh really? That oughta be helpful. Mind telling me how do I get your ferrari?

And for the prize car stratos, I'll see what I can do to earn it. The advices are helpful since now I know what to expect.

And I'm defenetly not spending $1000 on a steering wheel either  but alright I'll check out that steering wheel in the picture.

Nice to see someone enjoying the game for what it is,although I do recommend you find the time to install all the updates, makes the game a lot better and it runs smoother(usually:p). Enjoy. Try getting a decent driving wheel as well, I have a DFGT and it works great, it was about $120 and I love it.

Here is my tip:

Don't do any seasonal's until you get to level 25 or so. You will enjoy the game more, the process of saving for cars you want if you just do A-spec and Special events first. If you jump straight into seasonals you will level up quick and buy stuff way too quick. Once you get to that point enjoy all the great races seasonals have to offer, plus the great cash and XP.

Enjoy the game and PS3. P.S. check out the Uncharted games. Besides GT5 they are my favorite this generation.

Edit: the test track isn't in the game, sorry.
This, there were a few times I was broke starting, but it just adds to longevity, the game will be close to finished before you know it, especially if you use seasonals to get anything you want, trust me.

You may want to do the NASCAR Special event (Not the seasonal, the one in the special events menu) before updating.

Before one of the many updates, you could disable the ABS, making the event MUCH more doable, after that update, ABS is forced on and makes it kind of a pain.

500K, but the NASCAR seasonal is closed, so you have to be level 21 to drive any NASCAR.....car.

Congratulations for buying this real driving simulator!

If it's just to have a try to NASCAR, first Jeff Gordon class is at level 2. I don't remember what was the object of it but I can feel these 850CV under the fingers and have a look at the cockpit 👍

As for seasonals, do as you like! In the early days I managed to be L20-25 without entering A-spec or seasonals. Licenses and Special Events boosted me there. So any car was buyable even before start playing career mode: if not were for the money requirement :ouch: Seasonals just make it easier finding the money you need without grinding.

My 2 cents:
1) make use of the Tornadoalley's lists to not become UCD refresh addicted ;)
2) limit yourself. Don't enter easy races with supercars. Use OLR rules offline. The game rarely challenges you; if you want a challenge try Sunday Cup Grand Valley East with a stock Corsa 1.4 16V with comfort medium ;) or similar things of your taste.

Avoid collecting items! 🤬 (who asked for me?)
Enjoy driving!

Don't get it unless you got cash, there are definitely alternatives out there lol. I remember when I got GT5...I was going to get it anyway when i got my PS3, but when I found out GT5 went with it....I almost cried lol

I took a look at the RM list, turns out none of the subarus have one... But thats okay, I still have my Subarus.

I acciendently did 1 seasonal race, got 100,000 bucks. Man that really does kill the fun, but I spent the money on used cars. Now I have 9 cars in my garage total. One of them is my favorite, loyal Impreza prodrive style. Love its shiny color of blue mica.

I'm really looking foward for some online racing. I got my Impreza's weight reductions finished and I'm enjoying how it handles on dirt roads. Though I kinda miss the swiss alps track. But the mountain range is pretty fun to drive too. And that special stage route 7 is very awesome to drive with the camera view placed in the interior of the car. This beats test course a lot.

The '05 Subaru in the new dealer can be RM'd. Long name, don't remember it, but it's the only 2005 Subaru in the new car dealer.

Just remember, the racing modification adds everything but power and lsd, so do it before buying parts.

Oh really? Tommorrow I'm going to do that first thing in the morning. And its good timing too because that gives me more time to finally finish the super license.

I just looked at the logtech Driving Force GT steering wheel that is priced at $84 dollars, might be a good deal unless someone on here says otherwise. The steering wheel is all I need to finish my PS3 combo. (Note: The PS3 looks great on my 42 inch flat screen, sounds great with the bose surround sound system...in fact so good it kinda shakes the house a little bit. The wheel is the only thing left. But money is a tight factor right now.)

The DFGT has served me very well, especially for the price.👍
There does seem to be a "bug" of sorts that can cause the brake to start lingering on 5% or so, which can be irritating, I'm currently trying the "bungee cord fix", which should not only stop my brakes from coming on at inopportune times, but give the pedals more resistance.

I guess a bungee cord remark isn't a great selling point, but for the first year of use I had no issues, and with the "fix" it should be good for more time yet.
Obviously more money can buy better wheels/pedals, but for the price, it's so far been a very good value for me.
(Keep in mind, you could go through 3 DFGT's for the price of 1 G27, or 6 DFGT's for 1 Thrustmaster)

Anything's better than my controller, especially since my L1 button is a tad bit borked at the moment. I'll continue my research for the best wheel at the right price. Maybe ebay might help me out here.

IDK, I never really trusted a used wheel sale, but I'm sure a bargain can be had.
I usually check Amazon first. (been very reliable on used items for me so far)

You can add me on Playstation Network, then load the game and go to profile (if you are done updating) and go to mine, then select a car, hit ''borrow'' and you can drive around in it until you select a different car! There is also a glitch to keep some of the untradable cars over 1 million, it's somewhere in the marketplace.

If you really like a tradable car, just ask me to send it.

Sounds good, i'll get to you once my install data for this game finishes downloading.

Alright, i'll wait. But since there is no test course, what about Talladega? That's as good as test course. I'll look and see if theres any other alternatives as well.

Once I get bored or what not, I will try out my 2 other games, (Midnight club L.A and Tom Clancy's HAWX 2. Waiting for Ace combat Assault Horizon to come to stores.)

For oval test courses, Daytona is the only one. However, Special Stage Route 7 is good for testing top speed, because it's straight for several miles.

Also, don't but a NASCAR. Once you complete the NASCAR Special Event, you'll get one for free, I beleive.

Also, once you get to 1,000,000 credits (Not too hard with the Special Events or a seasonal or two) I recommend buying a Ferrari Enzo so you can do the Ferrari seasonal event, which earns about 500K per 5 minutes
(That's if you don't feel like doing the seasonals is "cheating" and ruins the game by causing you to progress too fast)

The Enzo sucks
