Well, I'm finally going to order my parts from newegg. This first build of mine was in the works for well over a month, and I've finally reached the final version! Here are the Parts:

ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe nVidia nForce2 400 Ultra
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
Sapphire Radeon 9800PRO 128MB (This will own the 5900XT! :D)
2x256MB OCZ Enhanced Latency Platinum Series DDR400 RAM
Seagate 80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Lite-On 52x32x52x16 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive
Thermaltake 420W Power Supply
Enermax Black Case with Automotive Car Paint Finish :D

Total: $738.08+$28.93S/H=$767.01

I will order the part either tomorrow or Thursday, depending on when I can transfer funds into my checking account. Eventually, I will get a 19" Samsung SyncMaster Monitor and 5.1 Speakers w/ SB Audigy, but I have limited funds, ATM. I have a 17" I will use until then.

I'm estimating an arrival date of Tuesday with the Express Saver Shipping. I will update you when the build is complete!

Dag yo! That's a sweet setup for the price. Lets see pics when you're done.
I was pleased with the price, too. I will OC the 2600+ to a 3200+ once I learn how. The only real weakness I see is that I only have 512MB of RAM.

Yes, you will completely own a 5900xt .. But can you own my card? :sly:

A Radeon 7000 is more of a card then you deserve, you knowledge-lacking pc wannabe. You disturb me in how you know so little, but try to pawn yourself off as this all-knowing, all-powerful pc guru.

Be careful about OC'ing that CPU that much, you'll need definitely liquid cooling to keep it from frying. Just trying to warn ya'.

I'm not gonna OC it too much. The Barton core is locked anyway, so I am limited. I know that you can OC a 2600+ to a 3200+ easily with the stock HSF. That is my goal. I don't want to push it much farther.

hmmm, it's only 10 times more than the comp itself. I'll think about it! ;) :D

That would be a kickarse monitor to have. But, if I was going to throw that much cash into it, I would get a Plasma screen tv and just route my graphics that way. Just my opinion, though.

Not without proper cooling, the CPU will get pretty hot without any overclocking.
The stock heatsinks aren't that great.

I know people who have OC'd these the stock Heat Sink and fan. Plus, I am going to buy a 120mm fan for the case before I OC it anyway.

UPDATE! Parts have been ordered, I am estimating an arrival date of Monday!

Dude, toyomatt, that was probably the worst insult I have ever heard. I'm picturing you as an annoying little nerdy kid trying to come up with insults. You are pathetic 👎

Oh yeah, Event, I would really consider a better hsf for the 2500+, the new stock HSF's that AMD gives away are really bad. My brothers old 2700+ idled at like 59c. If your motherboard can support it, get a Thermalright SLK-900 heatpipe. If it doesn't, go with a Swiftech MCX-462 which is neck to neck with the SLK-900.

Ok, maybe you don't know what you're talking about. The only thing pathetic here is that you like to watch purple hippos do their thing. (Sounds like an un-rested Barney fetish to me)

I don't need to take hints from you on what kind of person you think I am. Just like you, I can be tired sometimes, and also unlike you I'm an insomniac (which means I'm almost always tired). Which explains the lame attempt at a comeback. I could just pluck one of the things you said, and say the same thing. But, mocking your style is getting old.

If you need to know what I do, or who I am... ask, or better yet, don't. Because, I'm afraid you might want me, you perv.

Okay...

Toyo, I think he was trying to be sarcastic, and perhaps slightly annoying by bringing the ATI vs Nvidia argument up, for the heck of it. No further.

Anyways; Refering to the stock HSF for the 2600+. Stock HSFs have really increased in performance and quality in the past couple of years. He'll be able to do it on the stock HSF, especially if it's the copper one. To clear that up, AMD makes two, alluminum and copper, I'm not exactly sure how they go about deciding who gets what, but some people end up with one, some with the other.

Another thing, 2600+ to 3200+ isn't a large OC at all for that chip, mainly because the 2600+ and the 3200+ are actually the same chip. Actually, it's 2500+ - 3200+, they're all the same. The only difference is AMD has tested and qualified certain chips for the higher speed, and then set the multiplier .5+ for their different speeds and sent them out like that. So, in some aspects, you could say it's barely even overclocking. 👍

Tell us how the build goes, Event. :)

Intel has good stock heatsinks, but AMD's are pretty bad.

My CPU is running pretty hot and nothing is overclocked.

It is generally advised if you want to OC an AMD to get a new heatsink.

Like I stated, there is the alluminum and the copper stock HSFs from AMD. It depends on which he gets. :)

Well, Most of my parts are on the FedEX truck, heading to my house! I should get them in 1-3 hours. I should get my Motherboard and Case tomorrow, because they were shipped from California (the two most important parts needed to start building HAD to come last...)

My friend and I will start building tomorrow once I gte the last of my parts!

Burnout, no offense, but this isn't your arguement. He didn't mean it sarcastically, especially since he pm'ed me about this whole ordeal. Please do not stick yourself into other's conversations.

Well, He and I had an ongoing argument/annoyance with eachother on ATI vs Nvidia, for the heck of it. Sure, it's quite annoying, especially since there is no basis for his claims, I was just assuming that was the intention when he sprouted out here.

Didn't mean to butt into your argument. :)
