Finally I've my PS3 & GT5P, now comes the doubts/questions !!!

First of all, thanks to take a moment to read this thread. I've been talking in this forum about GT5P while I was playing it on a friend PS3, but finally I've bough a PS3 for me so I'm not playing it properly. I've now trying to get on gold the ones I've get on silver, but I've been some problems in my copy and I'm wondering if it's my PS3 or GT5P damaged.. or if it's normal:

NOTE: Playing the 2.30 firmware on PS3 and the lastest update on GT5P.

A.- The map above the screen, on "My Page", always show the same red points. I though it could be people connected.. but couldn't be that because in United States there only 2 points. Isn't the car brand too, and I can't think they could be the servers. My points never change, I've like 6 or 7 in Europe, 2 in America, and 2 or 3 in Asia. Is this an error?

B.- When I play online and then I go to the XMB on the PS3, I can't see the people with which I've played online. That's strange, because I've played other PS3 games and on that section you can see the people you've played with. But never has appeared people from GT5P, is anything wrong on my copy or so ? :nervous:
 
The points on the "my page" (at least, what I think they are) are racing curcuits around the world, showing weather and temperature.

As for point B, I have no idea

A- it's not an error

B- Nothing wrong there either mine is the same.
 
Thanks for your help mate. I've another problem with the online.. I've only raced 8 or 9 times (one time it was with "alba-action", don't know if he's "alba" from this forum) but many times I get error with the host while searching for players. I've checked the Polyphony Digital site for those problems and then I've opened the port 3658 as Polyphony Digital suggest, but I've still problems.

Have anybody solve this problem?. I've a router with the PS3 & 2 PCs connected to it.
 
TOTALLY sure. In fact I can't see any "[US]" user now, it was just for one race. I was wondering if "[US]" could be for any Europe country but can't imagine any one. There was too another strange country for a PAL edition I think: "[SE]". It was after change my router config., and activate the UPnP, on one of those beginner races because I've started the game yesterday.
 
SE is probably the code of Sweden. Having US players in the PAL races is by no means impossible, many Americans imported the PAL game as it was released in Europe before the US.
 
Who knows the region lock must of got broke?

I got the host error once before and thats it.
 
The region lock is for the game version, not location.
If i make a US psn account you'll see me as a US player in a pal online race.
 
You're right.

Between..., does anybody seen any option to change the week order into the calendar?. In Spain, the week system starts on Monday but the calendar starts always on Sunday.

My Players Met list also never updates anymore after playing GT5P.
And it doesn`t make a difference if I played the JPN or PAL version.

And since the players doesn`t show up in the Players Met list I can`t put bad drivers on my Block List. :(

The last time that GT5P added players to the Players Met list was in late February.


Your connection problems maybe caused by your geographical location.
I guess mainland spain got better connections than the Islas Canarias

I've joined into a spanish GT board and people from the mainland Spain also have the same problem. Into Canary Islands we don't have bad connections haha, at least for example friends from university use normally 10 MBPS wich isn't a 5 STARS connection but it's a good example of good connection for a friend from university, and you know.. if you pay more, you're able to get better ones than 10MBPS.

I think it's due to the router or just the game, maybe it'll be solved on an update, who knows. I was playing before and I didn't so much that error again, just from time to time. I've only 1 MBPS connection, but it goes good on the races anyway. Polyphony just need to improve his internet system.
 
You will see US players, the flag next to your name correlates to the address entered when setting up the PS network. I have a PAL copy, live in the US, I have a US flag next to my name.

GT5P has never used the players list and has never added players to your players met list. Must have been from some other game. The only players I have on my list are from the burnout demo and I have been playing GT5P since december.

SE is Sweden... There are a lot of drivers from ES, is it Spain?
 
Personally I've been thinking it might be Estonia, SP would seem to be a more suitable Spanish code. Just my thoughts of course, I don't know for sure.
 
In that case the Finnish code would have to be SU, the Swedish code SV and the Austrian code ÖS, something doesn't quite work here. My solution would be to use the three letter codes as used just about everywhere else where nationalities are needed and ditch the two letter system as it leaves too much to be guessed.
 
Yes I can confirm you that "[ES]" is for spanish people (me, for example).

Some of you say that near to the name, there's a flag. I can't see any country flag, just the "[xx]" thing.

And other interesting thing: on the GT5P news, says that now the online shows not only country but also zone... but I just can see the country.. not any zone or so. Check the news section, you can read what I mean and see that they were not correct on the text as I see...
