Well, as long as Netflix hurries I'll get caught up and then I will be much less confused. Three episodes is far from enough to give me a complete understanding of the various plots and storylines. It is enough to make me decide that this is an awesome show that should have been seen by more people.

And I just made sure that Serenity is queued up behind the final Firefly disc.

It has been a good find to give me something new to watch while TV is in summer rerun limbo.

I read in an interview with Nathan Fallion (Mal) that the cast all signed on for a trilogy of Serenity films, but they have to wait and see how the DVD does. So get buying the DVD people!

Well, I have been sold. I watched two episodes of disc 2 and then put it back in the Netflix envelope and went to Best Buy. I now own the Firefly DVDs and only have four more episodes to watch. Serenity is on its way in the mail.

I can't believe I missed this before and I can't believe that it never caught on.

I've seen the lot now, and then Serenity at the end though I'd already seen that in the cinema, watching it after watching the series really made a difference though, I was able to follow it more and I felt for the characters more. Watching it in the cionema there's no real shocks, watching it after the series makes you go "wow" when certain things happen. I would love to see another film or two but it doesn't look like any will be appearing at the cinema, if they do make more they'll be on the TV and not the cinema and it depends on funding.

You would think that compared to some of the slop that gets passed on as movies these days finishing up any story Joss Whedon has left would be a no brainer.

Even if they do it on TV he did well on a TV budget so a TV movie would still look good. I mean, I was listening to the commentary and found out that the cows at the end of Shindig were all CGI. To pull off quality CGI like that on a TV budget is amazing.

Edit:

So do you guys have any other shows I may have missed and should see?
And before you say it, I discovered Red Dwarf long ago.

Purchased this series, after watching the film "serenity" which I liked. To be honest I wasnt expecting too much from the sereis, but I saw it at HMV a couple of days ago. I started to watch it, and was suprised by the first episode, it was very good, and every other episode so far has been great. Ive got only one disk left, but Im suprised why the hell it got cancled, why did the networkd decide to axe this show, its got the legs to run just as long as any other show, and is allot better than Lost or 24.

Anyway, im glad I got hold of it, and I hope they may get a chance to make another movie, or a mini series.

I would recomend "Farscape", but I have to say its an aquired taste, or "The 4400"

I was a big Farscape fan and am considering buying the DVDs. I need to rent the 4400 DVDs so I can catch up because I am having trouble following the storylines when I do watch it.

yeh I have series 1 & 2 on dvd and im watching series 3, I have all the farscape DVD's I got them at full price, and im now wishing I would have got them when they came down in price, ahh well.

Have you ever watched "Sliders"? because thats was good, and the DVD's are out now, I seriously need to get them on DVD, Plus "Wonder Years" is just coming out over here (26/12/2006), so I want them too.

Oh, yeah. I loved Sliders. Although it kind of went down hill after the original girl died off and they picked Kerri Wuhrer (although she did look good) and then it just got bad after Jerry O'Connel's brother came on the show.

Ah, the Wonder Years. I used to watch that all the time when I was a kid, but I don't know if I would sit through all the DVDs again.

I rented Briscoe County Jr. last night and watched the first two episodes. I forgot how much fun that show could be.

I was just thinking of renting Sliders this weekend. The first time I saw John Rhys-Davies on Lord of the Rings, I said "That's the guy from Sliders!" My wife looked at me like I was more insane than usual.

I can't believe I actually bought a game just because Bruce Campbell did a characters voice. From what I remember, Briscoe County Jr. was fairly decent. I might have to hunt those down, too. It can't be as bad as Bubba Ho-tep.

It wasn't the horrid Evil Dead games was it? Those give me a hgeadache.

You can never go wrong with a horse that thinks he's human.

We met John Rhys-Davies. Apparently he's quite appalling when it comes to meeting "fans" - very standoffish and doesn't "personalise" autographs (he'll just write his signature on quickly, without writing a "To xxxx" on there).

When we met him I talked him into both personalising for my other half and writing a quote (from LOTR) on it - which makes it a very rare and valuable John Rhys-Davies autograph - because I asked him in his voice... :D

It says

"Nobody tosses a dwarf!"

He's not quite as bad as William Shatner - though neither of them allow photographs - who reportedly signed over 1,200 autographs in 90 minutes.

You can talk like an Ent, too? Sweeet.

If my math is correct, he kicked one out every 4.5 seconds? Jebus.

Yep - at £15 a time. Mind you, he didn't look particularly healthy - he was probably trying to rush them through before he died. Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn - Stargate SG-1) looked like he had AIDS. He was so emaciated. And wossername, who plays T'Pol in Star Trek Enterprise, was so thin it looked like small air currents would snap her spine.

Incidentally, you should see the state of Gil Gerard (Buck Rogers). Erin Gray is still reasonably hot, in a crinkle-cut way, but he's just a behemoth. He's like 500lb of spam with a head on top. He could barely lift his arms to sign stuff - each was the size of my waist...

"Curse, you Daniel Jackson! If you would have just stayed Ascended, I would still be on Stargate! But, no. You just had to come back, didn't you?"

And now we are talking about Stargate SG-1, that is what I am talking about! T'Pol is Jolene Blalock FYI Famine.

I did a Stargate quiz thread here a while ago and I got exactly NO answers or responses.

But this is the Hollywood way. I always hear about these hot actresses and when I see them I think they look like a scarecrow without the hay.

And I had missed it! I would have gladly participated in it had I seen much earlier than what I did.

I saw it, but not before you locked it. :grumpy:

Revival?

I had the same problem, in that I saw it, but it was already locked. Plus I did not know the answer to the first question.

So revived... :D

The first question is an easy one!

Quite possibly my favourite show. As much as I love Buffy and Angel, this was my first experience with Joss's work.

Damn you, Fox.

I was never into his earlier stuff ie Buffy and Angel, well I was into Buffy, or rather Sarah Michelle Gellar. The whole vampires thing doesn't do anytihng for me, but I really enjoyed Firefly. I've been through the series twice.
