Firefox not connecting

I updated Firefox to version 2.0.0.3 today, and now firefox doesn't work. It turns on but it I can't go to any websites. I tried reinstalling, uninstalling it and installing it again. I have no firewall, so that isn't the problem. My computer is connected to the internet because I'm using Opera right now with no problems, and IE works fine too.

My settings are set to connect directly in firefox. Everything seems to be fine, but it's not working. This has happened before, and I just downloaded the program again from the website, and it worked, but I'm having bad luck this time.

Can anyone help?

Did you delete the original directory after you uninstalled? Try that, then reinstall and see if that fixes it.

I had the exact same problem so i just uninstalled it and went back to the old one.

EDIT: @ITR: Nope, that didn't work.

EDIT: It started working for some reason.
