If anyone wants to be part of a world record then this is possibly the easiest way:

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/

They want to get the world record for most downloaded software in 24hrs. No release date yet so I'll wait until I see what that is to see if I can actually download it that day. Its a great browser though, I use it all the time.

I'll probably download it, when the day is said. I don't wanna pledge yet, and I love FireFox. Maybe let's help give them back something...

Pledged. How are the counting "most software downloaded in a day"? Would it be copies or the actual amount of data?

I would imagine number of downloads. The amount of data would obviously vary between programs and make it hard to compare apples to apples whereas a download is a download. Could be wrong, though.

Edit: Partially treed. Again.

I too have sprayed the site with furniture polish.

I have done the same as well...they are going to have some shiny, citrus smelling, hard wood at the Mozilla offices.

I'm also surprised at some of the countries people are pledging from, like those islands north of Russia in the Arctic Ocean.

I think they just count those as a part of Russia, but it might not mean people have pledged there.

There's no official date yet, but if you pledge, you'll be notified by mail immediately. But I suppose it'll be hard to miss on the net anyway.
