Hello!

My previous computer (it was a laptop) was frustrating to use (I think that's obvious to upgrade these days, right?) as it was slow & didn't fulfill its duties as a laptop & just sat on my desk all day. So I decided to convert to a PC!

With the help with my sis and companion, we were able to gather up a nice budget-minded list. Here's the parts we picked out: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yqqW The total price was pretty good, and while all the parts weren't absolutely exquisite, this build will last me for a while. I actually didn't really need a graphics card that strong since I don't plan on playing a lot of games, but I got it anyways!

Unfortunately, I didn't keep close track on building it, so I just took pics of the end result:

As you can see, the uppermost bays at the top-right of the tower holds the DVD drive & the HDD, while the rest of the SATA/Molex connectors sit at the lower-most bay at the bottom-right.
The alarming thing about this setup is the GPU & Power Supply fans, as they are facing each other while the tower fan sits next to the mainboard. Then there's the huge power connectors sitting near the power supply at the center, but obviously none of them were able to sit on the other panel other than the LEDs & all that.

The cool thing about the mainboard is that there's 4 blue LEDs that glow based on CPU load, and leaves a cool kind of feel to it. Wish I can get a pic of it, though..

This is almost the position of how the tower will sit and be cozy for the rest of time, and compliments pretty well with the fan & the wires.

So yeah, I think that's all I can say lol. This build only took me about 7-8 hours of work, surprisingly, & I'm very satisfied of how it all came together. I'm gonna try to really test this bad boy out & post the results here.

Here's a quick shot during idle time:

Not bad at all 👍

If you are able to, I would suggest wire tucking to keep some nice airflow going in and out of your PC.

Good stuff for a first build! Next step is just to tidy up the wires then your sorted!

Nice build 👍

About the GPU and PSU fan, is it fine to leave it like that? I was about to buy a similar case but that's what put me off, i ended up going for the standard setup. Like they said a little cable tidying and its all done :)👍

Yeah its fine. If you do get any overheating problems you can usually turn the PSU round if there is an intake grill on the bottom of the case. But like I said, I'm pretty sure it would be fine.

Thanks fellas!

Yeah, I'll probably need to do that lol. I despise cable management, but I'll see if I can do something about those power connectors.

Well when I tried gaming the other day the temp went up to 40-45 C, which is actually pretty good. Hopefully the tower can hold up in the long run.

I'm pretty sure that the case does have an intake grill for the PSU on the bottom.

I have a similar Cooler Master case, and I have the intake grill underneath. My only complaint about it is, with the rubber feet for the case to stand on, there's maybe a half-inch of clearance to get a good supply of air.

I'd flip it if I were you. You probably wouldn't see any difference in GPU temps as the power supply is just sucking in air from your case and exhausting it out the back of the PSU.

I'd rather have a little cooler air going through my PSU then the hot exhaust being vented off your gpu.

3 or 4 zip ties would be easy cable management for you.

You mean flip the PSU? Hmm.. may take a while as those power connectors are all over the place, but maybe I'll give it a go if I have some time.

Well, I guess I can just leave it at that and see if the PC holds together in intensive activity.
