Heh, after a little trip to Virgin Records (They had a deal, 2 PS2 games for $30) I picked up Metropolismania (the reason i went) and Sub Rebellion (had to pick something). Anyways my impressions:

Metropolismania
Heh, made by the same team that did Harvest Moon. Think of it as Sim City meets the Sims, meets Animal Crossing. Your little dude, is in charge of saving the human race from annilation from lack of communication skills (I know:rolleyes: ) He is put in charge and needs to build a successfully city, much like Sim City. However you can wander the street, talk to people, and even call them up. You are in charge of everything, from where the shops go to where people live, or you can let the residents decide. However i wouldn't let them, they can be quite stupid in placement. Metropolismania is quite entertaining, and it is like the Sims, but instead of just a house, you have the whole town. Not a game for everyone, but if you liked Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon/The Sims, then give it a go. Good luck finding it though, I searched several game stores, nothing new or used, and only saw it in Virgin Records, and one copy in Wal-Mart.

Sub Rebellion
Two words - holy ****! I thought this game was gonna be on par with some of the $9.99 PSX games. But was i surprised, the graphics are quite good, and the gameplay is great (so far:D). Think of it as something like a submarine rpg. 135 years from now, the earths crust shifts, and most the earth is underwater. The badguys (the empire) are trying to rule the seven seas, while the good guys (the alliance) try to stop them. You go around completing various mssions for the Alliance, while exploring, and collecting various ancient artifacts.

By far the most spectacular feature is the ping system. you press x, and the sub pings the surrounding enviroment, identifying enemies, artifacts, and other stuff. When you ping, the enviroment turns to vector graphics for a short time, and the "ping" effect shockwaves out, showing enemies in yellow, and targets in red, and various other colors for other objects.

All in all a very good game, so far, and worth the 15 bucks i paid for it.

P.T.O. IV
Ah, Romance of the Three kingdoms meets WWII. Basically you are put in charge of one of the 4 major factions from WWII (US, UK, Germany, and Japan) and you go through the war playing as that faction. You contol everything form where your ships are, how many you have, where you want to attack, if you want to try the political solution to the war, etc. Options out to wazoo, you can even design your own ship, and mass produce it. A very complicated game to start, but once you know what you are doing, its quite simple.

I haven't much time with any of these, as i also got the Zelda OoT disc for the gamecube today:D I'll give more through reviews when i have had more play time.

Oooh! I loved PTO on SNES! I never really understood it because I was young, but it is still one of my favorite SNES games.

This one is pretty good, i just wiped the japanese out at midway with 3 US fleets (16 ships each)

Sadly i lost about half my ships, because i forgot my carriers, so the airfeild had a easy target at my ships.

Ah, this game is fun.

Turns out it is mission based. Level 1 you have to get 200 people to live in your town (it's a tutorial), however with Level 2, you have to have 500 people and 20% of the buildings offices. The game has a strange way of getting more people and business to come to your town. You make friends, and in turn those friends give you more friends. (each new friend is either a household or business. But not everybody knows somebody. so it can be kinda boring when you need people/businesses.

You have to keep the people happy, they start to whine is you don't put a playground in, or a hospital, etc. etc. And they move out if you ignore them too long (heh;)) Money isn't really a problem, cause you dont use it, unless you want to buy gifts for people.

The only negatives so far are: it seems like there are only 10-15 character models, so many of the people look like someone else. Same with the interiors of the buildings, only like 10 of those.

All in all a good game, if you can find it.
