Hey Guys,

Maybe you can give me some tips and pointers. I'm and A Spec 18 and B spec 5. I'm not the cleanest racer due to inexperience but try my best.

I decided to mix it up and try to get in online races, which is one thing I was really looking forward to.

It didn't go so well. I spend almost an hour finding a race. I got kicked from a few rooms because a) i didn't have a mic or I can only assume because either my A-spec was to low or because my car wasn't good enough.

Maybe I should wait until I have better cars or more money but I would really like to race other players, even if I'm under powered or under skilled.

I also experienced on some races where I would get a black screen and could hear everyone else racing.

Any suggestions for new racers especially in online mode?

Are there any other new racers that want to run lower powered cars to work on clean driving and solid driving and braking lines? Any experienced racers want to throw a N00b a bone. We were all N00BS once right?

Do what your doing..POST!

Until you have the cars to run with more experienced racers I would look for similar racers here, and set up lounge matches. You can do a shuffle match to make sure ALL cars are similar or set up your own with restrictions. Eventually you'll get the cars you want.

I feel you though, almost every time I venture into a random room it usually turns into X1 bumper cars.👎

look for rooms with a PP restriction under 500 or HP restriction under 350ish to get the hang of the game. Don't plow into other drivers even if it means you will finish last.. sometimes it pays to be patient and watch the lines of the people in front of you. In no time you will be fast.

Funny thing is, the VAST majority is lv30 or close to it thanks to seasonal events. Without them, I reached lv28 but I have the S licence, I think rooms restrictions should have the licence as one of them. I've raced people lv 32 with B licence, thinking that a lv32 would be good... WRONG, the B Licence was really showing.

Hey dude if you are looking for some clean racing add me up. I too have tried to have clean and good racing in online rooms to no avail. Case in point - in about 20 Nascar races I've yet to actually go a single lap without being hit by another driver, intentionally or unintentionally. So if you want to, send an invite my way. I'm on most nights. I do not use a mic though. I'm not saying I'm the best driver, no way, but I do make sure I do not hit another driver. If I have to give up a spot so be it, I'd rather win cleanly or finish 5th whatever than knock someone off the track to win a race.

Try some of the Daytona races. Lots of people set up 20 - 30 or so laps around Daytona which normally take only 20 - 25 minutes and can be highly competative. But other than that search for the Low PP or low HP races, and make sure you have a slightly modded Lotus Elise 111R with Racing softs in your arsenal as that is a really handy car to have.

I sympathise as I've tried many nights for a decent race and can never find one.

I'm always looking for clean racing, but I don't have extremely high standards for skill since I don't think I'm that great myself. I just expect you to at least try to race clean, but contact is going to happen especially amongst us novice players.

Finding a race online is the biggest reason why I don't bother with open lobby. Having one person in control of the whole room is another.

Hopefully, when matchmaking steps in, more people will be happy with playing online. I know I will.

It will take a while, but you will come across some people that are like-minded in their racing. Usually every room is drag or nascrap - I mean nascar, so I started producing my own room with great sucess. Some of the best racing is low HP or low PP - what you need to do is find cars that you like to race and find rooms or tailor a room to what you prefer.

A-spec Level has so little to do with driving skill I'm not sure why it would even be considered.

Sure, Level 0 people just got the game and are likely going to be less good.
Other than that though a high level means extremely little. As you said the seasonal events give insane XP. You can start a game and be in your mind 20s in no time, under an hour. It could also just mean you were grinding Indy more than me.

OP, I'd do what your last line suggested, go into the online racing forum and find a group or create one. Avoid hitting people, and start with slow cars. Enjoy.
