Well like the title says some online friends from a JDM focused site here in Florida plan on starting a bi weekly online race event. I have a few noob questions I was hoping some of you could chime in on to help make this first attempt easy and run smooth.

We planned to make it Japanese touring cars only. Are there settings we should know about to make this happen?

We also selected the course deep forest to play on. Is there a limit for the number of people that can play on specific tracks? So far we have 13 people signed up to race but I'm not sure if there is a racer limit for specific tracks.\

And lastly, for uploading replays what 3rd party programs would you guys suggest? I see a lot of the league youtube videos use PVR software to transfer the replays from the PS3. Do you think the new 2.0 spec in October will include direct upload to youtube like they promised from the get go?

The max players per lobby are 16.

There is no direct way to upload replays to youtube apart from recording yourself...

Let me know if theres more questions..👍

What do you mean by settings for Japanese touring cars? Like vehicle regulations in the rooms?
Are you talking Super GT?

How much experience do you have online in GT so far?

The limit's fixed @ 16 drivers regardless of the track.

If you'd like to capture replays then there's two options.

Either an SD dongle capture device @ $50 (there's also quite cheap alternative SD capture USB devices but the quality on them is really lacking):

Here's a sample video using the above mentioned USB dongle capture device:

Or an HD PVR @ $200:

I use an HD PVR, here's a good sample of something I've uploaded:

(there's also the Blackmagic Intensity Pro card but I wouldn't recommend it for PS3 users since you really need to know your way around a computer and you wouldn't be able to use the HDMI functionality with the PS3 anyway)

16 Driver regardless of track cool.

Yea I meant super GT cars. Was wondering if there was a way to restrict it to just that.

Thanks for the heads up on the recording devices. I took my PC apart this morning and dusted the whole thing and it still keeps auto shutting off on me. Trying to troubleshoot it to fix that.

Yea I have little to no experience online besides the races I've played randomly at my buddies house but I'm looking to get into something more organized and adult-like. The random races we've joined we find mic spammers, racist comments, people driving backwards, just pure chaos lol.

what you do is set the BHP and weight limit or you can set the PP limit...All drivers must stay within the limits...You can also check to see if drivers are using the right cars by going to the home screen in the lobby...

Yeah, you don't want to join random lobbies for good racing.

You can restrict it to Super GT cars in two ways:

You can have everyone use the supplied Super GT cars in the online "recommended garage"
There's a Calsonic GT-R and a Castrol Supra. The Supra's slower than the GT-R so if you're interested in simply running Super GT then restricting it to the GT-R and having a one-make race would be an easy route.

The other way is to simply set the room to the PP or hp and weight figures for the cars you want to use.
