Inspired by a recent blog meme, list five things that people here probably don’t know about you. Cookie points if it’s something that even your real-life friends don’t know. I’ll start:

1 Though I haven’t talked about it with a doctor, I strongly believe that I have Restless Legs Syndrome (I meet all the criteria listed by the NIH). Ever since I was about 4 years old, I’ve always had a difficult time keeping my legs still, whether that be from standing too long or trying to go to sleep. It normally takes me about an hour to fall asleep because if I’m in one position for too long, I get this weird sensation in my legs and I have to switch positions. Long car trips are miserable for me because my legs get so uncomfortable. When I travel to Thailand (18 hours one way), I spend almost half the time standing up (near the bathroom or near the place where the stewardesses sit during takeoff/landing) because I can’t stay seated for very long.

The sensation is, as that Wiki page says, very difficult to describe – there’s almost no suitable adjective in the English language that I know of. It’s like a bizarre cross between itchiness, pin pricks, electrical current, and numbness. Once I move my legs, it goes away for between a few seconds to a few minutes. It’s very annoying though.

I haven’t talked to my doctor about it only because I honestly forget about it during my physical checkups – I’ve had it for so long that it’s a natural part of my life, and I compensate without even thinking about it. Also, it’s not so bad that it’s disruptive to my life, just really inconvenient.

2 Though I generally call myself an only child, I do have two half sisters. The reason I call myself an only child though is because I never grew up with them – they’re both in their early 40s (yes, our dad’s an oldie) and were already married and living in northern California before I was born. I do have a good relationship with them though, and we visit them (or they visit us) at least once a year, usually more.

3 I have a really strange obsession with lights, particularly automotive lamps. In fact, my passion for cars is originally rooted in car lamps, not the cars themselves – as a young child, I could readily identify cars based solely on their lamps, and I would always snap my head around if we’d just passed a car with interesting lamps or lamps that I hadn’t seen before. I was especially fixated on emergency vehicle lamps – I learned at an early age, entirely by observation, that the little row of yellow lights on the back of California Highway Patrol vehicles are used to show status: moving left to right means that they’re pulling someone over, moving right to left means that they’re ready to merge back onto the freeway, and when the outer lights interchange with the inner lights, they’re in pursuit or heading to an emergency situation.

I was so obsessed that I’d save the translucent Lego pieces in a separate pile, and use them to create unique lamps for my Lego cars, and I even mimicked the light scheme on CHP cars (the V pattern, alternating between red and blue and starting with red, with two white spotlights built into the blue housings).

I’m still obsessed with car lamps, though not as much as before. I like to test myself by trying to identify cars at night solely by their headlamps in my rearview mirror.

4 I was part of the Boy Scouts for many years, starting in 2nd grade, and ending around 10th grade. I enjoyed it very much, and had always planned on getting my Eagle. However, I decided to drop out when I was trying to get my Personal Fitness merit badge – one of the requirements was being involved in one’s religious organization. I felt bad enough being part of an organization where I had to proclaim reverence (to God) at every meeting; but having to actually discuss religious involvement with a merit badge counselor would’ve been too much lying for me. So I decided to drop out, under the pretense that I was “too busy” with school and Cross Country. That was also around the same time that the BSA evicted a Scout leader for being gay, and I have no desire to support an anti-atheist, homophobic organization. (For the record, the BSA has evicted at least three people for being atheists.) I wish I could’ve stayed, because otherwise it’s a fantastic organization, but the religious aspects were starting to weigh very heavily on my mind and fatiguing me.

5 And on that note, I attended the 2001 National Jamboree. One of our stops was the World Trade Center – which means that I visited the WTC just two months before the terrorist attacks. Unfortunately, at the time (when I was there), I had no clue how significant they were – in fact, I had never even heard of the WTC until I was there. I just remember the really long elevator ride to one of the top-ish floors and how scary it was to look down on NYC from there. It wasn’t until after the 9/11 attacks that I realized their significance to America.

Thoughtful posts only, please.

Then why don't you win any guess that headlight/taillight games?

I'm currently a boy scout... never knew about that though...

1. I can fluently speak three languages--Mandarin Chinese, English and the language of gods--Pig Latin. I also have learned real Latin and Spanish, but are not fluent.

2. Most of my Californian friends don't know or believe that I got mugged last year on E 96th and Park in New York City going to school one morning

3. Most people also don't know that I once had to walk through snow from 59th street to my school on 94th when the 6 train had gone temporarily out of service.

4. I went to school on the first day of the MTA strike in New York, where I promptly found it boring and useless, and like half of the school, including 2 people living less than 10 blocks away, decided to take a vacation until the strike was over.

5. I actually WAS fairly popular and had at least one girlfriend in kindergarten. Most people highly doubt this.

1. I always seem to be on GTplanet:sly:
2. I once had a weird obsesion of buying small hot wheels cars and buying white-out and paitning them with white:indiff:
3. I rode my bike from school EVERY-DAY for about 4 years:) and its about a 3 km ride
4. Another obsession i once had was making cars out of lego and then throwing stones at it and see whether the lego pieces would crack:lol:i never told my real-life friends that i like Lego:scared:
5. Im always on Msn:dunce:
Oh yeah and i have a tiny feeling that this thread will turn into something like that "random facts about yourself" thread. Hopefully not though:)

1) I'm actually really vain.
2) I used to play the acoustic guitar really well.
3) I have 6 phones.
4) I worked out that I spend more on others per month than I do on myself
5) I like French cars.

1) I wanna be a bus driver.
2) I am very self conscious.

1. I'm a procrastinator.

(Will post more later)

Lol.

1. I have a unibrow and my right bicuspid tooth is twisted 45 degrees counterclockwise.

2. I've been invited to the Congressional and National Student Leadership conferences.

3. I'm "Highly Gifted".

4. I have zero of what I consider to be good friends and it makes me sad. :(

5. I don't necessarily have a fear of heights, but I have a very big fear of falling (multiplied by amount of height).

and, I have one big one (it would probably take the thread), but I don't want to post it written down (no less written on the INTERNET! ). Nobody knows about it except for my maternal family, but only my mom knows about it in depth, and only I really know about it. (hint: NOT an STD or anything funky like that) Sorry to leave you guys hanging.

1) I really really loved Snakes On a Plane.

2) I can't guitar solo :(.

3) I think cannibal corpse is the worst metal band to ever walk the earth.

4) I am in the top ten percent of my class.

5) I had two failed relationships last year :indiff:.

Hmm. Tricky. To think of unusual but interesting things that are normally concealed.

OK, here goes:

1. I'm really, properly scared of heights, but never used to be. Several dreams during my teenage years of falling off climbing walls probably kick-started it.

2. I "managed the exit" of my cleaner in December (read: basically fired her, but in a way as to make her think that she was resigning).

3. Although I'm an IT Systems Architect, I'm actually qualified as a Project Manager. And on the subject of qualifications, I have a degree in Psychology.

4. I have five cousins, all alive and well. One of whom I have never met. He's the only one who lives in the UK.

5. One of my middle names is "Welcome".

There you go. Make of it what you will.

1) Whenever I get the chance, I turn nocturnal. If it wasn't for school, work, and other responsibilities, I'd probably be nocturnal 7 days a week, 365 days a year (even with school and work, 99.9% of the time I go to bed after 2am). Following Sage's example of a link to a Wikipedia article, it seems I have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome.

Since I don't have school until the 15th and usually work weekends, I went to bed around 6am yesterday, and woke up at 4:30pm. It's now ~7:30am, and I'll be going to bed soon, probably waking up at ~4:30pm, or ~2:30pm if I set my alarm. Being nocturnal during the winter is neat, because if you do it right, you won't see the sun at all. :sly:

2) I'm very much a misanthrope. I suppose the feelings might have begun way back when I was consistently picked on by my peers in elementary and middle school, but it wasn't until high school that I realized that most people in this world are 🤬 stupid, and it wasn't until I got a job that I began to resent interacting with those aforementioned people.

My current job as an arcade attendant, though ridiculously easy in concept and very secure (my manager is more of a friend than an authority figure), doesn't pay nearly enough for the amount of bullcrap I have to put up with as a result of my store being located in a shopping mall, of all places. I swear -- reading, counting, and the concept of the adjective-noun relationship are lost arts that aren't taught in schools anymore. If those things were being taught, my customers wouldn't have to stare dumbfoundedly at a large, flashing message on the screen of a video game telling them what to do, or ask me how many prize tickets they have left after using 10 out of their total of 30, or ask me what "disappearing ink" is.

Don't worry, though, I like almost all of the members here. GTP's "high" standards tend to weed out the morons. :)

3) I was a Furry in elementary and middle school, and I would probably still be one today if I didn't totally suck ass at drawing. As it is with almost every furry, it seems, I was first inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, and my drawing style in 3rd and 4th grade mimicked the style of the StH character designs. By the time middle school came along, I had a whole slew of characters and everything, but that little "universe" of mine was put on indefinite hold when I just couldn't stand my inability to draw as well as I would like to, and when my best friend pressured me to drop it all.

If it isn't easy enough for you to figure it out on your own, my GTP username is a vestige of that period, and was the name of my personal character.

4) I actually enjoyed playing Gran Turismo 4 for the first couple of months that I owned it. I played almost non-stop. After the "newness" and "zOMG THERES SO MANY CARS AND STUFF" effect wore off, however, I grew very tired of the game very quickly. I then agonized over waiting for the eventual release of Enthusia Professional Racing, especially after I tried the demo.

5) Despite the fact that I usually clean up after myself and seldom leave a mess anywhere else, my room is very cluttered and dirty. Mail, paperwork, and issues of Car and Driver or Road & Track take up such a large portion of my desk that my left computer speaker sits on top of the edge of the pile. The dust bunnies that lie around the cords for my mini entertainment center and computer are probably a serious fire hazard, and my rug hasn't been vacuumed for so long that you can roll hair balls off of it by rubbing your hand along it. DVD cases, mostly PS2 games, are strewn about the floor and lower shelf of my mini entertainment center haphazardly, and more sit in a duffel bag on one side of the room...there's more to be told, but I think you get the idea.

Also, my room is firmly stuck in my past. I still have a couple of my middle-school art projects on display (both featuring the "universe" I mentioned in #3), and the teddy bear that was given to me when I was born sits on a shelf underneath a large collection of Nintendo Power magazines (dating back to issue #57, IIRC...I cancelled my subscription months ago because I just wasn't really interested in the magazine anymore). In my closet lies many of the toys that I played with when I was younger, including a bucket that still holds the various swords/spears/etc. that I crafted out of broomsticks and spare wood.

You see, I just can't stand to get rid of anything. I always come up with some reason, usually sentimental, to keep something.

Interesting. I can somewhat relate, but I don't really qualify for the NIH criteria. I only get the urge to do the "sewing machine legs" when I'm sitting down, with my legs tucked under the chair seat (so that only my toes are touching the floor).

I can also relate a bit to the similar Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, as mentioned in the RLS article. It's by no means frequent, but as often as once a day my upper body will suddenly and randomly jerk, for no apparent reason. I also seem to suddenly and randomly jerk my legs and sometimes my arms many nights when I'm trying to get to sleep -- again, though, I've only noticed this on an average of once every couple of nights.

I've never thought anything of either of those things before. I was once told that the leg thing was evidence of a high metabolism.

3 ...I like to test myself by trying to identify cars at night solely by their headlamps in my rearview mirror.
I, too, rely mostly on headlights to identify cars, but I'm not obsessed with them like you are. ;)

1) I'm addicted to Poker (Texas Hold'em) and regularly play on partypoker.com

2) I once stopped a post office robbery and received an award from the Chief of Police

3) I've been on GTP for about three years and I have under 1,000 posts.

4) I'm extremely generous with my money when I'm drunk. I tend to buy rediculous amounts of champagne when in a club with friends

5) I have only ever been to Greece on holiday but I'm going to New York in February for my birthday.

Good thing they don't know about it!

Good thing they don't know about it!

Absolutely.

I'm generally over generous. I will normally pay for the cab even if there's a large group of us. Although I normally get a free round of drinks from the lads.

Eh, same here. I am too nice. I've payed for many people's meals when me and my freinds are out.

1. I went to a Vocational Tech School. In my last two years in high school, I went to a vocational school for drafting. My original desire was to go into advertising. Advertisements, Branding, and Development of Packaging. I took the "Drafting and Design" course to develop my art skills and found that I like Architecture more. I hold two degrees in Architecture, and worked in a "Suit & Tie" environment for 8 years before I switched to construction.

2. My eyes function independently. Due to a brain contusion from a little brother and a golf club, plus various other blows to the head, the muscles on my eyes are "loose". As described by a doctor. With surprisingly little concentration, I can watch different things. PIP on my TV is nice, as I can honestly watch two channels at the same time. It bothers my wife, that I can drive and tune the radio using an eye to do each.

3. I grew up next to a farm. If it has hair, I've probably ridden it. Goats, horses, cows, bulls (Just once, for 6.3 seconds), donkeys and various other animals. I know how to operate a milking machine, and I've even drank milk that you had to shake in the morning, as the cream had settled to the top. Still to this day, as a reaction, I pull the milk out of the fridge and shake it.

4. I have a "bully" stature. Standing 5'-11" tall and weigh 235 lbs. I sport a 46 inch chest, and a 34" waist. My neck is 17" around. I'm not over athletic, just imposing. That, coupled with my piercing blue eyes, I tend to intimidate people without trying. It helps in the construction industry.

5. I know Jordan's phone number.

After reading a few of the others above, I have a handful more I'd contribute, but will wait until the next "5 things" thread.

That is amazing and hilarious!

1. I,being from Croatia, survived through Serbo-Croatian war (1991-1995).I was 5 years old when I saw my uncle getting killed by a grenade.I hope noone ever sees anything I seen back then.I still sometimes have nightmares about it.And those nightmares lead to
2. Sometimes I can't sleep. Once I havent slept for 6 days straight. Not even exercising for hours cant help then.
3. Much like Wolfe,I consider myself a misanthrope. I got backstabbed by people I trusted way too many times.
4. I find things like patriotism illogical.Dont ask why,you won't understand.
5. Also, like Wolfe,I'm quiite sentimental when it comes to throwing old things away, and also,Murphy's Laws always follow me-if I throw away something,I'll need it 2 days later.I hate Murphy's laws. :)

1) I was born in Kent and moved to Wales when I was 3. Untill I was 11 I insisted I was English, much to my dads frustration and my mum's worry (You can get beaten up pretty bad for announcing your English, and playing rugby in PE in school is not advisable while wearing an England top, as my mate found out). However, after a particularly bad argument with my dad about it I decided enough was enough, being Welsh wasn't that bad.

2) I'm one of 4. We were all given Welsh names. Rhiannon, Mair, Carwyn and, myself, Evan (guess who the other boy is). However, we are not Welsh speakers, and neither are my parents. And except for my Step-gran, none of my grandparents are. It does confuse a lot of people.

3) I am part of a Youth Amateur dramatics group. Partly due to my Auntie being the leader. While I do enjoy being on stage (odd as I don't really enjoy being the centre of attention) I don't take part in performances unless it particularly interests me or my Auntie really needs me to play the part. This is partly to due with it being very time consuming, and also because I don't enjoy the company like I used to. I'm one of the old-timers (been a member since 6) and alot of the older member I was friendly with and looked up to have moved on or gone to Uni.

4) From the age of 14 I wanted to join the RAF. My Dad's dad was in the Royal signals and supported it, but along with my mum they insisted they would only show full support if I agreed to go in as an officer. Not a problem as I planned to go to University anyway. I talked to my careers adviser in comprehensive and her only quibble was my eye sight (about -2.5 in both eyes, British standards). However, upon going to the Forces Recruitment centre to find out which courses were recommended they asked if I had asthma. I said I did, but very mild as it hadn't prevented me from doing sport since the age of 7. However, they said there was zero tolerance on asthma. I was devastated and in tears when I told my parents. And more than anything angry at the comprehensive school careers advisor. My interest in planes has faltered since then, but I still hope to become an aerodynamicist.

5) I don't hate my area. But I have a strong will to get out of it. Much of Swansea is post war buildings that was put up in a rush (Swansea was flattened in WW2 as it was a major port for shipping crossing the Atlantic.) It's cold and wet and there's quite frankly nothing special (well, the beaches are good.). I'm looking to go to Southampton University and quite frankly south coast is where I'd like to stay.

Still to this day, as a reaction, I pull the milk out of the fridge and shake it.
2 things about that.

One, have you ever ridden a rabbit?

And two, I drink milk that you sometimes have to shake because of the cream settling. It's called full cream milk delivered to the door by the milkman.

What the heck, I've been here for 5 years, what better way to celebrate:

1: I used to be a drug addict, but I've been clean for 10 years now. I still have a drink here and there, but since I've never driven buzzed/drunk, or been drunk for over 10 years, I don't consider them to be dangerous drugs to my body when used in careful moderation. I do not go to Narcotic Anonymous meeting s because I do have a drink here and there, so I'm not going to lie to people that I'm clean, but just substituting one drug for another.

2: I've had a suspended driver's license several times. At no time was it for impaired judgment or for traffic accidents, but for speeding tickets or failure to carry insurance. Which leads to...

3: I've spent 30 days in jail. I was involved in a car accident that injured someone, and the accident was my fault. I wasn't impaired at the time, I just made a stupid mistake. I was extremely fortunate the person I injured didn't sue me, since I had minimum state-required insurance. The thirty days I spent was at a medium-to-low-security prison (however, not considered "minimum" by legal standards). Since I was gainfully employed, and had no prior "record", I only had to serve on weekends (48-hour periods). I met some very interesting people of all types and ages (all of us trouble-makers of some sort of another, though), had some great conversations, and had to do work detail to cure boredom, such as picking up roadside trash and community cleanup (always in areas that I didn't live near or have anything to do with, thankfully). It was quite the lesson in humility, and I stopped to think before doing dumb things because of it.

4: Since there was little to do but read religious texts and books while under lock and key, I read about all the traditions I could find out about. I checked out all sorts of stuff from Confucius, Taoism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Shintoism from the library or included them in my personal collections. I found that Buddhism was the most "revealing" in a way, but ironically, it set me more towards the path of atheism than anything else, since there's technically no holy days, no formal personal or public traditions to adhere to, no austerity, pain, privation to conform to other than following the Eightfold Path, there's no prayer, and no worship. God, Self, Ego are one and the same (if you think of them as existing at all), simply...according to Buddhism. Which pretty much makes it a philosophy, rather than a religion.

5: Despite all of this which paints me as self-loathing, nihilistic individual, I'm actually filled with boundless hope and optimism for the future. Despite being quite cynical and sarcastic, I always have the feeling that when one idea crumbles or is lost, many more great ideas are created. All is never lost, an opportunity exists, and free will gives us infinite choices, in my mind. Yeah well, don't ask me to prove it.

[Still to this day, as a reaction, I pull the milk out of the fridge and shake it.

1. I honestly believe I have at least mild ADD (not ADHD). We've always suspected it as I was growing up, and now that I'm able to kind of back up and see the symptoms for myself, I'm fairly certain it's true. I can be distracted by anything, which makes it hard for me to do work on the computer because the internet is such an enticing distraction.

2. I can sing, play guitar, and play the drums well. Drums I would consider to be my "main" instrument and have taken lessons, but I grew up in a household that's always had guitars in it, and I've pretty much been playing all my life. I'd take lessons, but it's a great way to relax and doodle on right now and I don't want to make it seem like work.

3. I'm not a math mind at all. I wish I was - it would make econ classes a lot easier. I'm a much better writer than I am problem solver, it seems. Actually, this probably has something to do with number one.

4. I have two twin 30 year old half-brothers who are part Eskimo Indian. We look nothing alike.

5. I don't go to bed before 2:00am every night, no matter when I have to wake up the next day. It's a terrible habit that I need to break.

Also, I've been here for over 5 years, and this is the longest I've ever been an active member of an online forum. 👍

I'm an eagle scout, and you know I'm an atheist. My troop didn't focus on the religious aspect of the boy scouts, and I think in general the scouts have a don't ask - don't tell policy. But, as you point out, you are technically required to be religious to complete the boy scouts, so if I was discovered, they could revoke my Eagle Scout status.

I figured, I wanted Eagle Scout enough that I'd overlook the religiousness of scouting. Like I said, my troop helped a lot. If I had been in a religious troop I think I'd have shopped around to different troops before I found one that didn't take it so seriously.

1 - My dad is an obsessive compulsive, my brother is starting to show signs of being one as well, I'm determined not to be but by the same token I think sometimes I might just be becoming obsessively compulsive in the opposite way.

2 - Even though I was born in Manchester and raised in Manchester I talk with a kind of half Mancunian half Yorkshire bastard of an accent. I've spent a lot of time in Yorkshire and Derbyshire in my lefe with me having family over there. When I'm in Derbyshire, the Mancunian pretty much dissapears altogether after a few hours.

3 - I have a bad ankle, when I was 14 I damaged it badly, tore the ligaments and fractured a bone. It still gets painful on a cold night a decade later. Of all the places and ways I could have got such an injury, it wasn't falling 20 feet, it wasn't playing Rugby in school, it wasn't getting into fights. It was playing Tennis.

4 - I've had some pretty nasty fights with my brother, I wasted a good pool cue on him once and I had to my hand stiched up another time when he bit me while I was trying to restrain him. despite that, I've had a pretty good childhood, my parents have been great but I put them through hell twice over in my teens. A part of my life I'm not proud of, but people change and grow up, and people move on. Fortunately I have a good relationship with my parents now.

5 - I think my hard exterior is crumbling away, I've found that I'm getting more emotional and sentimental and I'm asking myself questios about things and about my future that I'd have never spent time thinking about a year or two ago. for example I've always been affraid of too much commitment, which is something I'd have never admitted to a year and a half ago, but I aso think my stance on such matters is changing. Speaking of change, I like garlic a lot more than used to, well the fact that I like garlic now is a change full stop.

1. I also like wolfe go nocturnal in summer and winter vacation,i usually end up beeing up till at least 7 AM,and i'm sleeping till 3-7 PM.I meet up with my friend in about 5 AM,and we usually go to the bakery to buy some pizza or something, buy some coke and when i get home,i go to sleep. Also i'm sometimes up for about slightly more than 48 hours, coke is powerfull :D

2. I would really like to move to Australia,i consider my country boring, people are mostly stupid about modern stuff, living here is like living in 18th century.

3. All i ever think about is cars mostly(and girls normally :D),i consider cars a fair amount of my life, since my familly is 75% about cars, only my mother doesn't have any relations to cars,or either driving licence.

4. In my family,i don't like any other members that much than i like my brother,i would rather live with him than my parents.

5. I really like straight engines, rotary engines and V engines, but i dislike boxer engines and any kind of diesel engines, and i don't like turbo aspiration really much,i really like RPM and i would rarelly own a turboed car, there is a few exceptions normally.

Bonus: I consider this thread really interesting, and one of the best ones lately.

Nice to know, although i found the lights obsession kinda weird
*ahem* VVVVV
Thoughtful posts only, please.
OK, here are my five items:

1. Why my nickname is 'Duke' and has been since birth
My given names are George Anthony. I'm George Anthony Jr., after my father. However, I'm "George A..." the 7th or 8th, after a long paternal line with middle names like Arthur or Alexander. So my parents decided that while tradition demanded my actual name follow the pattern, they didn't want to call me 'George'. My father went by 'Tony' already, so that was out.

While my mother was in labor with me, she was watching Sir Winston Churchill's funeral on TV (which will tell the Google-enabled how old I am). Sir Winston was the Duke of Marlborough. The town in which we lived at the time was called Marlborough, Pennsylvania. So they put 2 and 2 together and came up with 'Duke'. In my life I've only met 3 other guys who regularly use 'Duke' as their nickname (it's on my business cards, company email, etc.).

2. I'm a Girl Scout
Yup.

My wife and I run a pair of troops - one Teens/Cadettes, one Juniors, totalling about 9 scouts - of which our daughters are members. I've attended the East Coast Camporee for 3 years running (among numerous other events), and we're considering going to the 95th annual Girl Scouts/Girl Guides International Sing-Along in Washington DC this summer.

3. I can waterski, sail, windsurf, fly a light plane, ride a motorcycle, and skateboard
...none of which, unfortunately, do I have time or money to do any more. However, at various times, I've knocked my front teeth out motocrossing, given myself a concussion skateboarding in an empty swimming pool, and dislocated my shoulder herding cows on a dirt bike. I've been caught out of sight of land on a Hobie 16 catamaran, in a squall so strong I wasn't physically strong enough to steer the tiller. I was 20 years old before I'd ever been up in a plane that held more than 4 people, including helicopters, WWII fighters, and open-cockpit biplanes.

I've waterskiied in excess of 60mph, yet I've never snow-skiied once in my life. Odd.

4. Both my ears are pierced
...which isn't a big deal these days, but it was in 1986 when I had it done on my 21st birthday. It was years until I saw another man with both pierced, and I had to put up with all kinds of "left is right, and right is wrong..." jokes. I still wear earrings almost every day; usually 10mm titanium hoops. No ink, though, and no real desire to have anything else pierced.

5. I'm turned off by dyed hair, fake breasts, and shaved pubic areas
Flawed nature beats artificial perfection every day of the week. This pretty much means that I'm stuck with porn made before 1990 and I'm probably the only straight man in America who throws the Victoria's Secret catalog away without even glancing at it. It also explains why I utterly fail to understand the supermodel/actress du jour obsession, and can never remember any of their names.
*****

OK, so that last one pushing the boundaries of "thoughtful". If I can come up with something better that I'm willing to share, I'll replace it.

I think it's a neat little bit about yourself. I suppose that your preferences could be seen as odd, but I think yours are better than most other mens'. I don't have enough experience to know for myself, however.

I'll post up some stuff about myself when I get home.

Killer sweet.

Lol.

1. I have 2 brothers 3 sisters, but essentially consider myself, like Sage, an only child. Reason - they all live 1500 miles away and we moved when I was 7 (my youngest sister was 17 and stayed there). I typically see them once every 2 years at most.

2. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a dream. It has been at least 15 years.

3. I was baptized one of Jehovah's Witnesses, but I now consider myself an agnostic.

4. I found out 10 months ago that my wife and I are carriers of a defective mutated gene know as ΔF508.

5. Every vehicle I have ever owned has had a sunroof.
